__________
Pakura immediately became curious, 'Could it be that Rasa had already known about the disappearance of the Third Kazekage?'
Pakura was about to ask Rasa, but she hesitated. As Rasa was the direct disciple of the Third Kazekage, she naturally knew him.
But because Rasa was taciturn by nature, unless something significant happened or he had to go out on a mission, he spent the rest of his time practicing diligently.
And she was on missions all year round, so she didn't have much interaction with him. The relationship between us was at best just a nodding acquaintance.
But Pakura hesitated for only a few seconds, and then said to Rasa in a slightly cold and authoritative voice.
"Master Rasa, judging from your expression, could it be that you have known about this for a long time?"
Rasa, who was constantly thinking about various countermeasures in his heart, suddenly heard a cold female voice that was both familiar and unfamiliar calling his name.
He was immediately awakened from his thoughts and looked at Pakura, who was staring at him.
Rasa ignored the faint fragrance that was drifting towards his nostrils and subconsciously wanted to smile, but he immediately realized that he should not smile at this moment. So he quickly said in a calm tone.
"No, I just guessed that the retired Chiyo-sama actually bypassed Master and came directly to summon us. Perhaps Master had an accident or was seriously ill, but I didn't expect it to be much more serious than I thought."
After saying this, Rasa immediately turned around and lowered his head so that no one could see his expression.
When Pakura saw Rasa's behavior, she sighed in her heart.
She speculated that Rasa might be feeling sorrowful. After all, the sudden and inexplicable disappearance of the Kazekage and his guards was bound to raise concerns.
However, Rasa was not sad for his mentor.
He suddenly lowered his head, not out of grief, but to prevent others from seeing the surprise on his face.
To others, it seemed like Rasa was merely looking at the ground, but in reality, he was staring at an interface that had just appeared before him!
There was a short line of words on the interface—A Super Favorability System.
Rasa looked at the interface in front of him, and within seconds, his initial surprise turned into ecstasy.
At the same time, he struggled to control his expression and not reveal any excitement.
Even though his head was lowered, and logically no one should be able to see his expression, this was the ninja world—there was no guarantee that someone wasn't observing him using some strange technique.
Rasa silently tried, "System?"
A few seconds passed, but no voice responded in his mind.
Still, Rasa was not discouraged.
He continued to focus on the interface in his mind, clicking on it experimentally.
As he interacted with the interface, it suddenly changed, and a voice rang in his mind.
[Ding! The Super Favorability System is attempting activation. This will require one year of the host's lifespan. Do you agree?]
The voice was neutral, devoid of emotion, making it difficult to distinguish whether it belonged to a male or female.
Despite the eerie nature of the situation, Rasa felt relieved.
'One year of life? No problem. It is worth it.'
Rasa mentally confirmed, 'I agree.'
The moment he made his choice, he braced himself for any physical changes.
However, after a few seconds, he felt nothing unusual.
Instead, the voice in his mind simply stated.
[Ding! The host agreed within one second. The requirement has been met. One year of the host's lifespan has been extracted. The system is now fully activated!]
Rasa's emotions were complex as he heard these words.
Did that mean if he had hesitated, the activation wouldn't have been perfect?
Suppressing his curiosity, Rasa focused on the system interface, which had now changed.
Three icons appeared.
[Host]
[Character Favorability]
[Exchange]
Rasa carefully observed the interface before him, resisting the urge to display any excitement. He decided to click on the "Character Favorability" icon first.
[As this is the host's first time accessing Character Favorability, a random item will be awarded—a mid-grade Favorability Doubling Fruit!]
[This fruit allows the host to double the favorability of a chosen person every day, up to a maximum of 100!]
Upon hearing this, Rasa's eyes nearly lit up.
Though he still kept his head lowered, his breathing unconsciously became heavier.
With such a powerful ability, wouldn't it be possible to effortlessly realize the harem fantasy he had secretly harbored for years?
Suppressing his excitement, Rasa continued interacting with the system.
[Ding! Congratulations host youhhave gained one point of diatributable favorability.]
A new line of text appeared in his mind, stating that he had gained one point of distributable favorability.
He ignored this for now and examined the favorability rankings.
This list displayed all characters who had a degree of favorability toward him, sorted from highest to lowest.
Immediately, Rasa noticed Pakura's name ranked 19th.
Her favorability toward him was currently only seven points.
Before Rasa could question anything, the system's neutral voice provided an explanation:
[Zero points of favorability means being complete strangers. One point means knowing of each other's existence. Five points means a mere nodding acquaintance. Ten points indicates an ordinary friendship…]
After listening to the automatic explanation, Rasa understood.
Unlike other favorability systems he had read about in novels, where 50 points was the threshold for friendship and anything below meant dislike, his system worked differently.
Moreover, favorability in other stories could drop rapidly with a single wrong move.
His system, however, was different—favorability below zero signified dislike, while 40 points meant a bond of friendship for life.
Even better, once favorability increased, it was hard to decrease.
For example, if someone had 20 favorability points toward him, minor mistakes wouldn't lower their affection. At 30 points or higher, even repeated blunders wouldn't faze them—they would rationalize and justify his actions instead.
This was an enhanced version of the "love brain" phenomenon, and it would only grow stronger over time.
And most importantly, it wasn't an illusion. If he increased someone's favorability through the system, their feelings would be genuine and heartfelt.
With this revelation, Rasa's concerns about the future vanished.
Although there weren't many powerful women in the world, there were still a few.
If he could maximize their favorability, he could turn the entire situation in his favor.
And he hadn't even checked the system's "Exchange" function yet—surely, it contained combat-related items.
Thinking this through, Rasa silently commanded.
'Distribute my favorability point to Pakura and use the Favorability Doubling Fruit on her.'
[Ding! Favorability assigned. Pakura's favorability increased to eight points!]
[Favorability Doubling Fruit used. Pakura's favorability increased from eight to sixteen points!]
[Host has allocated favorability for the first time—one skill point awarded!]
[Host has used an item for the first time—30 skill points awarded!]
[Favorability increased by nine points—nine additional skill points awarded!]
Hearing the system's notifications, Rasa took a deep breath and returned his attention to reality.
Fortunately, the room was still filled with low murmurs, and the twenty seconds he had spent staring downward had not drawn too much suspicion.
