Legendary Beast Master: Starting with Contracting SSS Rank Dragon

Chapter 101: Skills Classification

The beasts didn't just lose powers and source of gaining strength but also valuable knowledge that others didn't want them to know.

It especially happened in wars of Fifth Epoch which while not being on the same scale as Great Catcalysm War of Fourth Epoch, still did a lot of damage.

So, Kael was more patient and explained everything to the three of them. Surprisingly, there were a few things that even Rias didn't know so he gave them every bit of details he had gotten from Alpha.

He mainly covered the topic of skills as they were on it.

Skills were divided into a few types and they were Normal Skill, Unique Skill, Ultimate Skill, Elementary Skill and Unknown Skill.

Normal skills were those skills which could be used by everyone mainly as long as they had affinity with the same element. Sometimes, even that wasn't needed as the skills did their work.

Most of the skills came under this category and all of Normal Skills were acquired from external sources from one way or another. One could also learn these skills, but this was mostly just based on his theories and hit a confirmed fact.

Unique Skills were different from normal skills and they were just as it's name suggester, unique. But it wasn't an absolute statement so Kael also called them Rare skills.

The best example was how Kael had awakened a Unique Skill or rather his previous self. It was a Skill that boosted his Regeneration to the level of Sanguines who were said to one of the top races in terms of Regeneration.

It was a Unique Skill as probably no other human had it, but it was still derived from Sanguines so it wasn't really that unique.

But there was a factor that made these skills truly Unique and this was also where it's name came from.

The best thing about a Unique Skill was that they didn't need Mana to be used, or rather they used the Atmospheric Mana so one could use their Unique Skill without a worry of emptying their Mana Pool.

Even if they somehow ended up with a empty Mana Pool, they would still be able to used their Unique Skill.

The only restrictions these type of Skills had was that they took a toll on both body and soul as they were used as a medium for unrefined Mana.

Having that kind of mana in one's body for long time could produce very harsh effects, which was why people tended to use these skills very less unless they advanced to higher ranks.

There were one more thing to these skills and it was that they could only be acquired upon their birth or if they achieved something so great that even the world granted them a Unique Skill.

From what he could understand, Kael was sure even the Gods would have difficulty or maybe it was even impossible for them to transfer or copy Unique Skills.

Or maybe they just didn't want to do that.

After the Unique Skills came the Ultimate Skills and just like their name, they were the ultimate of skills. There were no other skills that could become greater or more powerful than a Ultimate Skill.

They could only be countered by other ultimate skills, otherwise there was simply no chance of opposing them.

After all, they were the Supreme skills that could warp the very laws and concepts which made up this world. They were the epitome of what one could have.

Kael's beast taming was one such skill.

The only limit these skills had was the mana pool and the endurance of user. Some of the Ultimate Skills were so powerful and ruthless that if one trued to use them, they would instantly die unless they were very high ranked.

This was the might of Ultimate Skills and they were so rare that Kael doubted there more than 5 Ultimate Skill possesor in the whole Eldryn.

Even that was just him being paranoid and thinking of the worst case scenario. It could also be that he was simply the only one with an Ultimate Skill in this world.

It was because he knew the true potential of Ultimate Skills. Just like how his Ultimate Skill currently wasn't that useful, but it had the potential to make a system which only Gods could make and give it to Kael.

All while he was a mortal man.

It was such a ridiculous thing once one thought about it. An ultimate skill was basically allowing a mortal to possess some powers of Gods while being a mortal with no negative effects.

In fact, Kael also felt that all Gods possessed an Ultimate Skill and it might even be a requirement to become a God. After all, Draven's words could also be interpreted in this way.

One could only gain an Ultimate Skill in either of two ways. First, they had to be born with it like it happened with Unique Skills or they would have to wait and Evolve high enough to get a Ultimate Skill.

Kael didn't know if every Evolution Path allowed one to gain an Ultimate Skill or were they without it?

But he did get his Ultimate Skill from Evolution so he was sure that Ultimate Skills wouldn't be so rare once he reached higher enough.

Then came the Elementary Skills and these were something one made themselves or learn from others while having a high affinity to that particular element.

For example, Kiona could make a Fireball through her Fire Affinity without actually having that skill and it would be called an Elementary Skill as the base was having affinity to an element.

As for how it worked, Kael had a rough clue about it. The Affinity one had with an element was basically the connection they had with the symbolism of that particular element in the Astral World.

Because of this, they didn't need to use Rune Language to communicate with the Astral World as they would be communicating with that symbolism and it would be that symbolism which would give them the desired results.

This was why Affinity mattered as it basically told them about their connection with the symbolism of their Elements.

Kael was still a little confused about these skills, but it was enough for now.

Elementary Skills were made by those with high affinity to an element or those who were very curious about them. After all, one could gain normal skills which also included skills similiar to Elementary Skills so they never worked hard for them.

One could easily obtain a Skill while they would have to work their ass off to acquire Elementary Skills so they weren't really popular.

Unlike Unique Skills and Ultimate Skills, they also didn't have any additional benefits.

Nevertheless, there was an exception to this.

There existed Elementary Spirits in this world, so if one bonded with a higher ranked Spirit of their Element, then they would be able to use Elementary Skills much more smoothly and easily.

They would also become very mana conserving skills as the Spirits provided help in that.

Kiona had a high affinity with Fire element so she would be able to use Fire Elemental Skills and Kael was surely going to help her with that.

He has already decided to do that as he had immense knowledge about how these things worked and he also has Alpha to help him.

Once he was done explaining all of that, Kael paused to drink some water. His throat had turned dry like heated desert.

As he gulped down the cool water, the lion family was busy digesting the knowledge he had thrown at them.

'I just realised. I could have used Astral Projection to transfer the knowledge. But it's fine because discussion gives more ideas to me.'

He turned towards Rias and asked, "I've been meaning to ask since the start of this discussion, do you have any Ultimate Skill?"

Give how bizzare she was and the way Draven called her and anomaly, Kael was quite sure that she possessed one. But what was it? He didn't know.

Rias tilted her head on his question and considered it for a moment. Then, she replied in a flat tone, "I don't know."

Kael was speechless. Fortunately, he was done drinking water otherwise he would have spitted it out.

"You're saying you even forgot about the skills you have?" Kael asked, trying not to show his shock.

Rias shook her head, "Not even one. It feels like my soul is empty. Hmm, you said Skills are imprinted on our Souls..."

She paused, her eyes turning blank for a moment. After a few seconds, they returned to normal as she continued.

"Yes, I'm sure of it. I don't have anything on my Soul. No skills at all."

Kael was truly shocked hearing that, his widened as he muttered, "But how is that possible? You're a Demi-God so it means you went through enough evolution to make your soul so powerful. But that should have given you skills. Even if you don't belong to any Gods in a way, Evolution brings Skills by default."
