Legendary Architect of Apocalypse

Chapter 226: Rightful Owner

Ophilia didn't know what kind of talent Elias had awakened. She didn't know his performance in the Academy, or if he was even a talented student or not. She couldn't care about it in the least.

If his class was bad, then she could help him become stronger within his limitations. Even if he was completely talentless, she could still protect him with her identity alone.

Accepting Elias as her student was more of an attempt for her to provide him protection within the Academy. Everything else was secondary.

"Let me see..." She quickly closed her eyes, and started focusing on something. Elias wasn't sure what she was trying to do, as her frown kept getting deeper.

"Not that one. No, that's not good enough either. I need something better for my first disciple." For quite some time, she kept mumbling to herself as she rejected one thing after the other.

While Ophilia was keeping Elias busy, his main body was waiting in the main hall. He wanted Ophilia to leave before he switched places. But it didn't look like she was going to leave anytime soon.

"Hey, who is he?"

"Isn't there a rule that no outsider guards can enter the Library? Why is he allowed to bring his guards in?"

"Shhh. If the Librarians aren't stopping him, then maybe his identity is somewhat special. Don't jump inside this mess."

Many students were casting curious glances at Elias, who was surrounded by the Guards. The guards weren't the ordinary ones either, as they donned the robe of the shadow pavilion.

Even within the Academy, the Shadow Pavillion could only be mobilized by the Dean only. And they only guarded the most important places within the Academy, like the Treasury or the residence of the Elders.

Even the Librarians were looking at Elias with hesitation, not approaching him. Unlike the other students, they knew the identity of the boy. He was the disciple of Freya.

Even though guards weren't allowed within the Library under normal circumstances, the Librarians didn't make it an issue. If anything, they tried to ignore the presence of the Shadow Pavilion as if they couldn't even see it.

The only problem was that Elias remained still in the place. His arms were crossed around his chest, and he was clearly waiting for something.

Even the personal guards of Elias felt out of place, especially since they were simply standing in the most crowded place within the library like wooden logs.

They were waiting for Elias to move, but the boy didn't do anything at all.

"Can I help you, young friend? Are you looking for some books?" Eventually, it was a librarian that came forward to talk to him when she saw him not moving at all.

"With your identity, you should have access to a lot of books. If it's confusing for you to find them, you can tell me your interests, or ones that you're trying to find. I'll guide you to them."

"Here it is!" Ophilia exclaimed in satisfaction, and brought out an object from empty space.

"This should be a good gift for my first disciple." She revealed a beautiful ring which had a little green gem embedded in it.

She didn't even explain the use of the ring right away, and grabbed Elias's hand. She placed the ring on his ring finger.

Only after making Elias wear the ring did she explain what the ring actually was. However, Elias truly didn't need her explanation at this point as he had already used analysis.

..............

Elias had expected Ophilia to give him something nice since even Freya had given him so many things. But even he didn't expect her gift to be so overwhelming.

She hadn't just given him a ring. Instead, she had gifted him a second life. He was sure that an item like this wasn't common in the world. If it was, then all descendants of founding families would've had one.

Even Ophilia might not have a second ring like this, yet she was willing to give this to him. She was basically transferring her extra life to him.

"No matter how safe you feel at a place, or how much you trust the other person. You must never take off that right. Understood?"

Even after giving him the ring, there was not even a slight bit of regret on her face. Even now, she was only advising him on how to be safe.

Elias didn't want her to take the gift back, but he still asked, "Isn't it too precious of a gift?"

"Is it more precious than your life?" The girl asked a question in return while pinching Elias's cheeks once more. However, this time he didn't feel as irritated as before.

"In any case, it didn't really belong to me in the first place. It was given to me by your brother. Maybe if he had kept it for himself, he wouldn't have..." Her voice kept drifting off, as she thought about the help this ring would have provided to Aliath.

If he hadn't given this ring to her, then he would have had an extra life. She was always in the safety of the Academy and her family.

Meanwhile, Aliath was always exploring dangerous places, and doing things that could change the entire history of the universe.

All this time, she had always regretted the fact that she had accepted this ring when he needed it the most. Giving this thing to Elias wasn't just her attempt to gift her first disciple. It was also an attempt to return the ring to the rightful owner.
