Kung Fu Panda: Reborn as Po

Chapter 73: Job Change Quest

For weeks, Po and Jinwoo tore through dungeons alongside Yoo Jinho and their ragtag strike squad.

19 gates.

Each one cleared, bringing them closer to their goal. Every battle, every boss slain, every trap avoided—it all brought them one step further.

Their stats skyrocketed, both of them reaching Level 40 after the final dungeon run.

Po & Jinwoo's Status:

Level: 40Strength: 80Agility: 80Sense: 80Intelligence: 80Endurance: 80HP: 15,000Mana: 1,000 (though Po barely cared for it, considering his monstrous reserves)

They had finally reached the threshold for their Job Change Quests.

As they finished up their final dungeon, they were approached by an official from the White Tiger Guild. The meeting was brief—just a casual chat, a few questions about their future plans—but neither Po nor Jinwoo had any intention of joining.

They had other goals.

With Jinho now able to establish his own Hunters Guild, the two said their goodbyes to their former squadmates. It had been fun, but now it was time to move forward.

That night, they rested.

Tomorrow, they would take their first steps toward true power.

Po stepped through the shimmering portal, feeling the air around him ripple like liquid light. The Celestial Nexus was unlike any dungeon he had encountered before. It was as if he had stepped into a realm suspended between the cosmos, a place beyond mortal understanding.

The entrance hall stretched infinitely, illuminated by golden runes floating in midair. Before him stood the Nexus Guardian, a sentinel infused with celestial energy, its form shifting between solid light and formless radiance.

"Welcome, Challenger," it spoke, voice echoing like a chorus. "To proceed, you must prove your wisdom and strength. Solve the puzzle, or fall before my blade."

Po tilted his head. "Yeah, no. Arise."

The Guardian barely had time to react before a tendril of darkness shot from Po's shadow, devouring its light. The radiant being convulsed, its golden glow dimming into midnight black.

A heartbeat later, it rose again—but now as Po's Shadow.

"Huh." Po examined his new minion, the contrast of dark energy swirling with leftover remnants of light making it a paradoxical existence. "Wonder what happens when I do this again?"

Po moved through the next chamber, only to be met with himself.

Or, rather, reflections—mirror-like beings that copied his movements, his attacks, his power. Every move he made, they countered flawlessly.

Po grinned. "You can copy my style, but you can't copy my mind."

Rather than relying on brute force, he altered his approach mid-battle, throwing feints, mixing techniques, and utilizing strategies from different fighting styles. The Mirror Shades faltered, unable to adapt as quickly as Po himself.

With precise strikes, he shattered them one by one.

Four separate trials.

Each chamber was ruled by a different elemental force: Earth, Water, Air, and Light.

Po adapted like a force of nature himself. Against Earth, he became fluid. Against Water, he was unyielding. Against Air, he grounded himself. And against Light, he embraced the darkness.

By the time he reached the final chamber, he had conquered all four.

Here, dozens of celestial warriors awaited him, each moving in perfect harmony. Their attacks were precise, their defense impenetrable.

Po simply grinned.

"Let's see how well you coordinate when you're fighting yourselves."

With a snap of his fingers, black tendrils erupted from his shadow, twisting around the celestial warriors, dragging them down into the abyss.

And then—he spoke.

"Illuminate."

A pulse of golden-white energy flooded the darkness, merging with his shadows. A paradox was born.

From the darkness, his new army rose again, but changed.

Their forms radiated both light and darkness, celestial warriors infused with his own energy. They stood as beings of balance—his Guardians.

Po nodded in satisfaction. "Yeah, that'll work."

At the heart of the Nexus stood the Celestial Warden, a towering entity composed entirely of divine radiance. It wielded a blade forged from pure light, its presence overwhelming.

"Your journey ends here, Conqueror. The power of the Rulers will not be claimed so easily."

Po cracked his knuckles. "I dunno, I'm feeling lucky today."

The battle was intense. The Warden wielded abilities that bent reality—teleportation, omnidirectional beams of light, instant regeneration. But Po wasn't just relying on his Monarch powers anymore.

He was experimenting.

Using his Chi, he began to infuse himself permanently with the Ruler's power, tinkering with it at a fundamental level.

Then, he had an idea.

An idea so stupidly insane that it might actually work.

If the Monarchs embodied destruction and the Rulers embodied creation, why not combine both?

With a final, decisive move, Po unleashed both his Monarch Authority and Ruler's power at once.

Darkness and Light merged.

The Celestial Warden, a being of pure radiance, was consumed by shadow and light alike.

And then—it rose again.

Po smirked. "Welcome to the team."

The Rulers were celestial beings that governed creation, the direct counterforce to the Monarchs of destruction. Their power, known as Ruler's Authority, granted them immense telekinetic abilities—the ability to manipulate the physical world with sheer willpower, to crush mountains, to control objects at an atomic level.

Po, now wielding both Monarch and Ruler power, was something else entirely.

His army wasn't just composed of Shadows.

Now, he had Guardians—beings of both light and darkness.

And he was the first being to ever wield both sides of the cosmic spectrum.

While Po forged something entirely new, Jinwoo fought for his survival.

His opponent?

Igris, the Blood-Red Knight.

A warrior of unparalleled skill, an opponent who outmatched Jinwoo in every way.

But Jinwoo had spent months training with Po.

He had learned to read movements, predict attacks—adapt.

This time, he didn't rely on brute force.

He fought with his mind.

Feints, counters, carefully timed dodges—he turned Igris' own skill against him.

And in the end, he won.

The moment Igris fell, Jinwoo stood over him, breathing hard.

Then, he spoke the command that would mark the beginning of his own legend.

The battlefield shook.

Darkness twisted, and Igris rose—reborn as Jinwoo's first knight.

"Arise."

AN: Now Po carries both Sides in him, and made them into one, the Dual Monarch of both Shadows and Destruction along with the Authority of a Ruler too?! Tell me, did I cook with this?
