Chapter 34: Chapter 34 Multiple Shadow Clone Technique!
Morkel tried stepping onto the wooden bridge he had created and felt its strength. It seemed sturdy enough to bear weight. However, he quickly realized that the Land of Waves needed a cross-sea bridge, not just a wooden one. Wood alone wouldn't be sufficient; they needed reinforced piers with cement and steel.
"If only I knew a jutsu to transform metal," Morkel muttered to himself. "Combining Wood Style with Earth Style could allow me to build an entire bridge."

That night, Kakashi gathered Team 7 and made an important announcement.
"Now that Uncle Dazna has returned to continue building the international bridge, Cardo won't stand idly by. To ensure his safety, Team 7 will remain here for another month to protect him."
Kakashi's gaze swept over the group. Morkel seemed lost in thought, contemplating something deeply. Meanwhile, Naruto and Sasuke nodded in agreement, clearly willing to help Dazna.
After dinner, Morkel, driven by curiosity, knocked on Kakashi's door.
"Sensei, I have a question. Why are we protecting Dazna when he deceived us?"
Kakashi had anticipated this question and answered without hesitation. "The Fourth Hokage once said, 'Seeing a just cause and not taking action is not the act of a brave man.'"
Morkel nodded. "So, as a ninja, we must uphold justice and help others when faced with injustice?"
Kakashi smiled. "That's part of it, but only if you can ensure your own safety as well."
Morkel's eyes brightened. "I get it now, Sensei! Ninjas aren't just bound by their villages' interests; they also have personal moral codes to uphold."

The next day, as Naruto and Sasuke continued their tree-climbing training, Morkel was assigned to protect Dazna. During this time, he encountered Dazna's grandson, Inari—the same boy who had declared that heroes were foolish.
Morkel sensed that Inari was burdened by something. The previous night, he had noticed the boy crying while holding a photo frame. Seizing the opportunity, Morkel casually approached him and started a conversation.
Loneliness or perhaps Morkel's genuine demeanor led Inari to open up. The boy shared his past, speaking of his heroic stepfather who once protected the island. However, when Cardo sought control over the Land of Waves, his stepfather became an early target, brutally executed in public. Since then, Inari believed that being a hero was a pointless sacrifice.
Morkel felt sympathy for Inari's stepfather and his tragic fate. "A hero is someone who protects what they cherish," he said. "Your stepfather was a real hero. But when he was attacked, no one stood up for him. After his death, no one carried on his mission. Even you, instead of believing in him, only cry while holding his picture."
He then looked toward Dazna, who was tirelessly working on the bridge, wiping away sweat with a towel wrapped around his neck. Only a handful of villagers were helping him, while others, too afraid of Cardo, stood by and watched. The thought that these indifferent people would later enjoy the benefits of the completed bridge annoyed Morkel.
One of the workers approached Morkel and pointed toward a shaded resting area. "Young man, the sun is harsh today. Why don't you and Inari rest under that umbrella?"
Morkel was touched by the man's kindness. Though many in the village were cowardly, there were still good and hardworking people here. They deserved protection.
"It's alright, Uncle," Morkel said with a smile. "I'm a ninja. I can help."
With that, he formed a series of hand seals. "Multiple Shadow Clone Technique!"
Poof! Poof! Poof!
In an instant, hundreds of Morkel clones appeared, startling the nearby workers.
"Is this the power of a ninja? One man is worth an entire army!"
"Incredible! This is something only gods can do!"
"If this young ninja is this strong, imagine how powerful his sensei must be!"
The clones immediately got to work, carrying materials and assisting with construction. The pace of work skyrocketed, and Dazna's eyes welled up with gratitude. He had been worried about manpower shortages, but now, thanks to Morkel's clones, progress accelerated significantly.
Half an hour of work with the clones equaled what normally took an entire day.

Meanwhile, from a distance, Cardo watched through a telescope, his face darkening at the sight of the rapidly progressing bridge construction.
"At this rate, the bridge will be finished in less than two months," he muttered angrily.
In a fit of rage, he slammed the telescope onto the ground and turned to his bodyguards. "I can't let this continue."
One of his samurai bodyguards spoke up. "Boss, didn't you hire that rogue ninja from Kirigakure to assassinate Dazna?"
Cardo sneered. "You mean Zabuza? That so-called 'Demon of the Mist' turned out to be a joke. His apprentice failed the assassination, and he nearly lost his own life."
"It's time to remind him of our deal. We can't let him take the money and do nothing," another guard suggested.
Cardo smirked behind his sunglasses. "Once he finishes Dazna, I'll get rid of him too."

More than ten days passed.
With Naruto and Sasuke's help, Dazna's bridge construction progressed at an incredible rate. The once-daunting project was now nearing completion.
During this time, Naruto and Sasuke trained tirelessly, determined to master their chakra control. They practiced day and night, barely taking breaks. One evening, their persistence paid off.
They burst into Kakashi's room, grinning with excitement. "Sensei, we did it! We can climb to the top of the trees now!"
Kakashi smiled, pleased with their progress. He ruffled their hair as a sign of encouragement.
"Good work, you two. Your chakra control has improved a lot."
Sasuke and Naruto beamed with pride. They had come a long way since the beginning of their training.
As they celebrated their success, however, none of them realized that danger was fast approaching. Cardo's next move would be more ruthless than before. Zabuza wasn't finished yet—and this time, he wasn't coming alone.

The battle for the Land of Waves was far from over.
