Konoha: Naruto's abnormal life choices

Chapter 60: Chapter 60

In the original story, no member of the Sarutobi clan ever wielded the Sharingan or the Byakugan. Naruto had always thought that only Danzo Shimura and Obito Uchiha had a thing for collecting eyeballs.

Turns out, the Third Hokage had a set too.

Thankfully, it wasn't a massive collection—just a few. Naruto guessed they were kept for research purposes rather than any sort of perverse hobby. Since this secret room was never mentioned in the original timeline, he figured that after the Third died, no one ever found it. These eyes must've just been… forgotten.

Still, now that Naruto had discovered them, he felt like he'd lose out if he left empty-handed.

The problem?

He didn't bring any small storage containers. And dragging an enormous vat full of creepy eyeballs through Konoha probably wasn't the best idea.

"Forget it," he muttered. "As long as I know they're here, they're basically mine."

In Naruto's mind, the Third Hokage's public image was too important to allow many people to know about this place. Otherwise, what was the point of Danzo and Root? No, this was definitely a need-to-know space—and almost no one knew. Maybe Asuma Sarutobi did. Maybe. But probably not.

So long as the cache stayed untouched, he could always return later.

Just then, Naruto flinched slightly. A sharp pang of memory hit him—the shadow clone that had been fighting Asuma had been dispelled. Its memories flowed into his mind.

Time to go.

He nodded to the shadow clone beside him, who took the lead, and they made their way down the dark, narrow corridor. At the exit, Naruto carefully inserted the hidden key and turned it until the floor panels reset, sealing the secret room once more.

He leapt lightly into the Third Hokage's bedroom, rearranged everything exactly as it had been, then quietly cracked open the door to leave.

That's when he saw her.

Across the hall, seated just outside a room diagonal to his, was a woman.

She was wearing a black kimono, with long black hair cascading down her back. Her figure was delicate, and she leaned against a pillar as if drowsy. Her eyelids fluttered every so often, and though her face was pale, it was soft and beautiful—even melancholic.

"Who's that?" Naruto whispered internally. "Doesn't look like a servant…"

He scanned the room again. No back exits. Even the only window was on this side.

If he tried to sneak out now, she'd definitely spot him.

What kind of idiot builds a house this big with only one exit and one window on the same side? This architecture is sabotage.

He was still weighing whether to go back and wait for her to leave—or risk confronting her—when the familiar selector system rang in his head.

[Choice triggered!]

While trying to sneak away, you encounter Sarutobi Hazuki, mother of Konohamaru and eldest daughter-in-law of the Third Hokage. Her beauty distracts you, and your chaotic mind flares up. Your actions from here will determine the path ahead:

Choice 1: Play it safe – Observe silently. Admire the view from the shadows and sneak away when the moment's right.

Reward: 30,000 Ryo

Choice 2: Flirt boldly – Walk out, compliment her beauty, offer her a flower, and jokingly say she should take your last name.

Reward: 100,000 Ryo

Choice 3: Act with wild courage – Make a dramatic entrance, carry her off princess-style, and deliver your "dream monologue" in her room like a theatrical rebel.

Reward: Small Storage Space

(A mental storage area, fits any non-living item. Upgradeable!)

Choice 4: Do the unthinkable – Eliminate her quietly and steal the room for yourself.

Reward: Talent: Corpse Tracker – Ability to detect the remains of beautiful women.

Naruto nearly choked on his own breath.

"What kind of sick option is that?! Corpse Tracker?! What the hell is wrong with this selector?"

He shook his head rapidly. Sure, the storage space sounded incredible—just like those spatial rings in cultivation novels. He'd been wanting something like that for ages. But… this was Konohamaru's mother!

He gritted his teeth. He wasn't some pervert who couldn't walk straight when he saw a beautiful woman.

But damn that reward…

Storage Space.

If he could master that, it'd change everything. He could hide weapons, spare scrolls, backup items, clones—anything. Even in battle, it'd be a massive game-changer.

But staying longer meant risking discovery. Asuma could be back any second. One wrong move and Konoha would treat him like an enemy. The stakes were high.

"…Screw it," Naruto muttered. "Worst case, I run away."

"I'm getting that storage space."

With renewed resolve, he pushed the door open quickly.

Swish!

Sarutobi Hazuki's eyes snapped open, startled by the sudden movement. Her body tensed, and she instinctively braced herself, as though to fight.

But then her expression changed—she remembered her condition. Years ago, she had suffered a severe injury that permanently crippled her chakra network. She couldn't fight back. Not even a basic jutsu.

Just as she opened her mouth to shout, Naruto lunged.

"Wait!" he whispered harshly, covering her mouth before she could scream.

Her lips were soft, but now wasn't the time to notice. Naruto swiftly tore a strip from his cloak and tied it gently around her mouth, muffling her voice. Then, without waiting, he scooped her up and darted into her room.

Sarutobi Hazuki squirmed weakly, but she was no match. She wasn't a kunoichi anymore. Her strength was that of a civilian.

Naruto was honestly surprised at how smoothly the kidnapping went.

He'd expected more of a fight—this was the Sarutobi clan, after all.

Inside her room, he shut the door, locked it, and quickly scanned the area.

Seeing the bed still made, he gently placed her on it, then pulled the blanket over her body, wrapping her like a cocoon to stop her struggling.

"I'm not here to hurt you, ma'am," Naruto said calmly, activating his passive lying ability. "I'm here to protect you."

Predictably, she didn't believe a word. Her narrowed eyes burned with fury.

Naruto sighed. So much for soft talk…

He needed to win her cooperation. The fastest way? Hit her in the heart.

"Mrs. Sarutobi," he said slowly, "you don't want anything to happen to Konohamaru, do you? I just heard his voice outside…"

The moment he said it, Sarutobi Hazuki's body went rigid.

Her eyes widened slightly.

Naruto watched her carefully. She was clearly still furious—but she'd stopped struggling.

He smirked. Found her weak spot.
