Chapter 117: 117 Bounty Hunter, Kakuzu
All of a sudden, the crowded hall of the Bounty exchange became deserted.
A man in black, wearing a black mask, entered, carrying a bulky package.
Blood dripped from the package, presumably it should be a head.
Noticing the emptiness of the hall, the man's pale green eyes showed a hint of surprise.
He tossed the head onto the counter, asking, "Where did everyone go?"
The boss opened the package, confirming its contents. He then retrieved a ten million ryo banknote from the cabinet and handed it to the man.
With a grin, revealing his gold teeth, the boss said, "They all go for a bounty."
"A bounty?"
The man suddenly became interested.
As he took the money, he asked, "What kind of reward?"
"The Golden Flash of Konoha."
The man's eyes narrowed. This name was well-known.
The boss slapped two bounty posters onto the table.
"Kakuzu, you're one of the top mercenaries in the underground. Want to give it a try?"
This man was Kakuzu, the undead ninja from the Akatsuki, known for his immortality.
Kakuzu glanced coldly at the two bounty posters on the table.
"Is there also a head worth 80 million Ryo?"
"Not a bad target."
He slid the reward posters into his clothes and said in a cold tone, "I'll take the job."
The boss smiled, revealing his solid gold teeth, gleaming in the dim light.
With thousands of hunters surrounding them and Kakuzu, the top mercenary, joining the effort, even the legendary Golden Flash of Konoha would have no chance of survival.
Even if they couldn't take down the Golden Flash, killing Haruko Kamizumi in the chaos would still earn them a valuable reward.
Late into the night, Uchiha Obito, who was on watch duty, had already dozed off. Only Rin and Kakashi remained alert.
"Kakashi, do you think there will be any danger tonight?" Rin asked quietly.
After all, Rin was still a rookie ninja, freshly graduated from the academy.
Starting with an A-level mission right away, it would be a lie to say Kakashi wasn't nervous.
Just as Kakashi was about to speak, his face suddenly changed.
He looked nervously at the woods nearby.
"Be careful!"
A Kunai shot out from the dense jungle, aimed at Rin!
Kakashi quickly dove, throwing Rin to the ground just in time.
The Kunai slashed across his head and embedded itself in the ground.
"Enemy attack!"
Kakashi shouted as hundreds of Kunai suddenly flew from the forest, like a flock of birds.
The rain of Kunai fell heavily on the camp.
At this time, the guards also reacted quickly.
The guards drew their samurai swords and shouted, "Protect Miss Haruko!"
At that moment, Obito woke up, rubbed his eyes, and asked, "What happened?"
Kakashi, much more reliable than Obito, quickly reacted.
"Wind Style: Great Breakthrough!"
A powerful gust of wind blew through, pushing the kunai off course with Kakashi's seal. They fell harmlessly to the ground.
"I didn't expect a kid to be this strong..." a voice muttered from the woods.
The voice was low and cold, and there were many of them—probably hundreds or even thousands.
But strangely, none of them showed themselves.
It was as if they were all afraid of something.
Kakashi glanced at the motionless tent, a realization came on him.
Suddenly, someone shouted loudly, "Everyone, attack together!"
"Charge!"
In an instant, a wave of fierce hunters surged from the woods.
"Damn, there are so many of them," the captain of the guards muttered, frozen in place.
He knew Simu was powerful, but facing so many enemies at once, especially with these three kids by his side, it would be difficult to handle it all.
Obito pulled down his goggles.
"Leave it to me!"
Two black spinning jades appeared in his scarlet eyes. He was ready to charge.
But before he could move, a large hand stopped him.
"Are you planning to rush in and die?" A lazy voice came from behind.
Obito turned around and saw Simu standing there.
"Simu-sensei, let me handle this! I can take care of these weaklings by myself!" Obito struggled, but Simu easily pushed him to the ground.
Adjusting his sunglasses, Simu looked at the hundreds of people in front of him.
"It's really scary... Let me guess, how much is my bounty now?" he said with a smirk.
"Seventy million? Eighty million? Or maybe a hundred million?"
The aggressive hunters froze. They stood still, awkwardly staring at Simu.
"It's Gold Flash... He's really here..."
"Open the way...!"
"Even if he's here, what difference does it make? Can he stop all of us?"
"Let's attack together!"
"You go first!"
"No, you go first!"
They stared, wide-eyed, and the atmosphere grew tense.
Simu yawned.
"Hurry up and decide. I need to get back to sleep."
Kakashi and the others behind him were stunned.
Was this really the infamous Golden Flash?
Just standing there alone scares thousands of people from moving?
But just because the hunters were hesitant to attack Simu, it didn't mean they wouldn't target others.
Suddenly, the ground beneath the carriage where Haruko Kamizumi was sitting became muddy. A figure emerged from the earth.
Before Haruko could even scream, a laser shot through the figure.
Simu turned his head, and the hunters, finally overcoming their fear, prepared to unleash a barrage of ninjutsu aimed at Simu.
Even if this man could escape on his own, the people behind him wouldn't be so lucky.
Simu hesitated for a moment before saying, "There are too many of them. We'll need to filter them out."
Just as they were about to complete their seals, Simu's eyes suddenly glowed with a fierce red light in the dark night.
A terrifying, god-like aura erupted from him, spreading over a vast area of thousands of meters. The sheer pressure struck everyone's hearts.
Many turned pale and began to tremble, unable to withstand the immense pressure. Most of them rolled their eyes and collapsed, unconscious.
Silence filled the air.
Thousands of hunters, who had come to surround Simu, were reduced to a fainted mess—ninety-nine percent of them collapsed from the sheer force of his glare.
Watching them fall one by one, Obito finally realized that he had been too easy in his training
Kakashi's eyes were also full of disbelief.
It seems that it is difficult to understand that there is such a terrifying power in the world.
"This is the power of momentum, Kakashi," Simu said, hands in his pockets as he walked forward, step by step.
Kakashi paused for a moment, then nodded slightly.
Among Obito, Rin, and Kakashi, it was Kakashi who was most talented in understanding Haki.
Simu turned to face the remaining hunters he had purposely spared and grinned.
"So, what's it going to be? Do you still want to take my head?"
Although these hunters weren't intimidated by Simu's Conqueror's Haki, they were visibly shaken. Seeing so many of their comrades fall, they had no desire to continue fighting.
Quickly, they began pleading, "No, no, no… "
"We didn't mean to offend you, Lord Golden Flash."
Simu suddenly looked up at the trees.
Countless black lines appeared between the thick branches, resembling thousands of tentacles shooting toward him.
A hint of surprise crossed Simu's face. He opened his hands, and in an instant, a brilliant flash transformed into a long cross-shaped sword in his grip.
"Ama no Murakumo Sword!"
With a fierce swing, the sword slashed through the tentacles, leaving streaks of flames in its wake.
"You're tough...Kakuzu" Simu muttered, raising an eyebrow.
He wrapped Armament Haki around the Ama no Murakumo Sword.
The dazzling swordlight flashed, and the steel-like tentacles were sliced through effortlessly, as if they were nothing more than soft hair.
Simu planted the Ama no Murakumo Sword in the ground and pushed the glasses with his other hand, focusing on his target.
Kakuzu, known as the strongest mercenary, spoke in a deep voice, his yellow-green eyes fixed on Simu and Haruko in the carriage behind him. "You've heard of my name..."
Obito, noticing Kakuzu, muttered, "This guy... is strong."
Kakashi rolled his eyes. "Idiot, this guy is our teacher's opponent. We just need to protect Miss Haruko."
Obito shot back, "What do you mean, dead fish-eye?"
Simu turned his head slightly to look at Obito. "Obito, you need to protect Miss Haruko."
Obito wrinkled his nose. "I know."
Meanwhile, Kakashi and Rin had already moved to guard the carriage where Miss Haruko was.
With Kakuzu's arrival, the hunters who were about to retreat seemed to find new courage. They saw another opportunity.
As underground hunters, they knew Kakuzu's strength. They believed even Konoha's Golden Flash would have a hard time dealing with him.
So, they planned to use this moment to target Haruko, who had an 80 million Ryo bounty.
Kakuzu, however, wasn't concerned about the hunters who bypassed him to attack Haruko.
To him, only Simu was a true threat. If he could take out Simu, it wouldn't matter who got Haruko's head.
As long as Simu was eliminated, the mission would still be a success.
Kakuzu coldly asked Simu, "Aren't you worried about Haruko Kamizumi's safety? Or do you think those kids can stop them?"
Simu smiled slightly. "They're not just ordinary kids, they're my students."
The implication was clear: he had full confidence in them. After all, Simu had intentionally left those hunters for Kakashi and Obito to handle.
With a month of training under Teacher Kaido style, they should have no trouble dealing with this level of enemy.
Kakuzu fell silent, then suddenly attacked without warning. His arms detached at the elbows, and countless black tendrils shot out like rubber, aiming straight for Simu.
Simu's expression didn't change. Thanks to his Observation Haki, he was ready for the move.
The Ama no Murakumo Sword in Simu's hand flashed brightly, slashing through the air with incredible speed. At that moment, the dense black lines twisted and exploded like fireworks, surrounding Simu in a net.
"As expected from Takigakure's S-class Forbidden Technique, it's truly a terrifying power," Simu commented, almost exaggeratedly.
Kakuzu's pupils constricted, his voice laced with surprise. "How do you know...?"
Earth Grudge Fear was Takigakure's secret technique, one so dangerous that no one had survived after Kakuzu used it. It had never been spoken of before he claimed it. How could Simu possibly know about it?
But Simu didn't have a habit of answering questions.
With a quick push of his feet, Simu turned into a blur, dodging effortlessly between the endless black lines.
He could feel the intense killing intent from Kakuzu, who no longer held back.
Kakuzu's windbreaker tore apart, revealing a black vest underneath. His skin was covered with dense sutures.
As he prepared to face Simu's attack, the sutures on his shoulders ripped open, and two thick black threads shot into the air, each wearing a strange white mask.
One mask had the face of an ape with red lips, while the other was unrecognizable, with blue streaks at the corners of its mouth.
Simu's flash of movement paused mid-air as he confronted the strange figures.
The red ape mask opened its mouth, unleashing a torrent of intense orange flames. At the same time, the blue mask on the left also opened wide, releasing a terrible, fishy wind.
"Fire Style: Head Hard!"
"Wind Style: Harm!"
"Combined Ninja Technique: Flame Wind Chaos Wave!"
The flames, fueled by the fierce wind, transformed into a devastating sea of fire.
First, it engulfed the black line cage, and then it burst out, setting the surrounding woods ablaze. The red glow from the flames illuminated almost the entire sky.
The destructive force of the attack made Kakashi and the others stop their fight.
"Teacher Simu..." Rin's voice was filled with worry.
Obito and Kakashi exchanged glances.
Compared to the ninjutsu in front of them, the teamwork they practiced in training seemed nothing.
Obito gritted his teeth. "I'll help Simu-sensei."
Kakashi immediately shot him down. "If Simu-sensei needed your help, he wouldn't deserve the title of Golden Flash."
Before Obito could respond, a black shadow slowly emerged from the sea of flames.
Simu casually patted the corner of his clothes.
"That was close. I almost died in that sea of fire."
