Chapter 36: Shinho, I Want to Eat Fish
"Do we have any cookbooks at home?" Shinho remembered he had promised to teach Naruto how to cook.
But he didn't have enough time, so he planned to give him a cookbook.
"Do you want to learn to cook? Big Sis can teach you," Shizune's face lit up with eagerness, rubbing her hands expectantly.
Your reaction isn't like teaching cooking; it's like being lured by a wolf.
No, Shizune-nee-san.
Shinho shook his head and said, "It's for Naruto."
"Naruto?" Tsunade, who was drinking, suddenly paused and said, "I have a cookbook I can give you."
Shinho and Shizune both looked skeptical.
You can cook? their expressions seemed to say.
"Hey, what do you two mean?" Tsunade bristled, glaring at Shizune, then reached out and vigorously ruffled Shinho's hair.
Wait, why the double standard?
Shizune felt wronged, like a pitiful cat.
Shinho wanted to retort but couldn't find the chance.
Tsunade put down her sake and went upstairs.
Soon, she returned with a cookbook.
On the cover were the large words: "Super Perfect Invincible Absolutely Delicious Explosive Recipes."
Shinho's mouth twitched.
What kind of title is that?
Are you sure this is reliable?
He opened the cover and was slightly startled.
At the bottom, it was signed "Minato Namikaze."
He immediately understood the book's title.
That made sense.
Minato Namikaze, in the original story, was a nearly perfect ninja. The only thing to criticize was his naming sense—he was a genius at that.
For example, the Rasengan. Its original name was "Light Wheel Ice Cream Swirl Spiral Naruto Double Style."
Shinho continued flipping the pages.
The first recipe was called "Fire Release Flash Spiral Sun Disc."
Below, in small print: "A fried egg full of love and warmth."
At the end, two hearts were drawn together.
The handwriting was different from Minato's, appearing delicate.
It must have been Kushina Uzumaki.
Shinho felt they were showing off their love.
Am I just a pawn in your play?
"Give it to Naruto," Tsunade thought of the beautiful red-haired Kushina.
Shinho nodded. Since it was Minato and Kushina's legacy, it was indeed suitable for Naruto. And he would be very happy. Even if he didn't know that the legendary Fourth Hokage was his father.
He wasn't the Nine-Tails; he was the son of a hero.
If Kushina were resurrected, she'd probably question Hiruzen Sarutobi. ‘Third Hokage, look at what you've protected.’
After dinner, Shinho continued practicing medical ninjutsu. Battling evenly with that carp.
The next day.
Shinho put the lunchbox Shizune had prepared into his backpack and left home.
As he walked down the street, he suddenly saw two sunny and cheerful young men. Naruto Uzumaki and Might Guy.
So hardworking?
Shinho couldn't help but silently pray for Sasuke. If he defected again, he'd probably have his legs broken by Naruto.
"Shinho!"
Naruto noticed him and waved.
"Good morning," Shinho responded.
"Choji asked me to tell you he wants to eat fish. When are we going fishing again?" Naruto suddenly remembered and asked.
"Let’s go fishing today then." Shinho thought for a moment and said.
He could take the opportunity to fulfill Aunt Mikoto's request and hang out with Sasuke. It would be best if he could unlock some achievements as well.
"Got it!"
Naruto quickly disappeared.
Shinho continued walking.
A few minutes later, he saw two more familiar faces. Mikoto Uchiha and Sasuke Uchiha.
Shinho stopped.
"Shinho," Mikoto released Sasuke, walked up to him, and bent down to ask, "Didn't you find Sasuke yesterday?"
Her black hair, tied together, naturally fell. There was a faint fragrance.
Madam, your hairstyle is dangerous, Shinho thought.
"I had something to do yesterday," Shinho explained. "I'll take him to hang out today."
"Then I'll leave it to you, Shinho," Mikoto smiled immediately.
She returned to Sasuke, playfully winked, and left without saying more.
"Sasuke," Shinho looked at him and asked, "Do you want to go fishing after school?"
"I don't want to fish," Sasuke refused.
"I see," Shinho smiled. "If you beat Naruto at fishing, I'll agree to spar with you next time."
Sasuke hesitated. He wanted to agree immediately. But he had vowed before that if he went fishing again, he'd be a dog.
"What's wrong?" Shinho asked. "Afraid of losing to Naruto?"
"Me, afraid of him? Ridiculous!" Sasuke snorted. "I will win!"
Fine, if I have to be a dog, so be it.
Besides, no one knows about my vow anyway.
[Achievement Unlocked: Sasuke Uchiha's 'I Am a Dog'; Reward: White Boar Gu.]
[White Boar Gu: A Rank One Gu insect that modifies the Gu Master's body, fundamentally increasing their strength.]
Shinho was so startled he took a step back.
Did something go wrong? Since when did Sasuke have this kind of hobby?
Shinho looked at Sasuke strangely.
Alright, so that's how it is?
"What's wrong with you?" Sasuke asked, puzzled.
"Nothing," Shinho smiled and quickly left.
"???" Sasuke was confused.
At school, Shinho exhaled.
Although the achievement was abstract, the reward was what he needed.
A second White Boar Gu would allow him to safely practice combining into the White Jade Gu. Then his defense could be improved.
In a world where ninjas are generally fragile, my White Jade Gu would surely bring surprises.
"Shinho-kun!"
A voice came from above.
Shinho looked up to see Ino Yamanaka sitting in a tree. Her slender little feet were swinging.
That's... No, I'm a decent person, he thought.
A gust of wind blew.
Ino jumped down gracefully, landing steadily in front of him.
"What were you doing up there?" Shinho asked.
"Nothing," Ino brushed a strand of golden hair behind her ear, a bit unnaturally. She was actually waiting for Shinho.
"Um... Do you have time after school? I'd like to treat you to dinner," Ino mustered the courage to ask after a few seconds of hesitation.
"I'm going fishing after school," Shinho shook his head.
"Eh?" Ino's eyes sparkled. "Just the two of us?"
"No," Shinho replied. "Same as last time."
Ino felt a bit disappointed. Hanging out with friends was great, but she preferred spending time alone with him.
Shinho glanced at her, about to speak, but then noticed a familiar figure.
He turned and saw Hinata hiding behind a tree. She peeked out with half her face. When she met his gaze, she quickly hid again.
Shinho smiled.
What a little bunny.
