Chapter 22: Chapter 22 : Discussion

"I am your Head Girl, Vanessa Greengrass. The password to enter the common room changes every two weeks. The current password is 'Ouroboros.' The new password will be announced on the notice board." Vanessa, seeing that all the students had entered, explained the rules of Slytherin to the new students.

At the same time, she stood on the steps leading to the common room, observing all the underage wizards from all years.

"At Hogwarts, we are Slytherin. We do not reject ambition, but we always remain calm and elegant, and we uphold honor. I hope that all of you can protect the honor of our Slytherin house. Our house hasn't won the House Cup in several years. I hope you don't limit yourselves to arguing with those Gryffindors, but rather dedicate more time to your studies and to the honor of the House." Vanessa calmly looked at the students in the common room and spoke in a low voice.

The Slytherin snakes stood silently beneath the steps, listening to Vanessa's speech, with various expressions. It was difficult to know how many would truly listen, but just at that moment, a discordant voice arose.

"We can't let those Gryffindor idiots walk all over us! Now is a good time for our rise! Look at the magical world now, the sky is about to change!" A fifth-year student with blond hair, also standing on the steps, loudly protested to Vanessa.

"That's Rory Yaxley, the fifth-year prefect, who was promoted this year." Vivian whispered the information she knew to Anduin.

"Enough. Don't bring that nonsense from outside the school into the academy. You came to Hogwarts to study, not to take sides." Vanessa sternly reprimanded Rory, not giving him a chance to finish speaking.

"Alright, everyone disperse. Your luggage is in your rooms, and your schedules have been placed on your desks in advance. Your names are on the doors, so return to your rooms now." Vanessa turned around and dismissed the crowd, instructing the first-years, not giving Rory any more time to speak.

"Hmph, we were born noble, and Slytherin has the responsibility to maintain the purity of the magical world. I heard that even Muggle-born wizards are now entering the academy. Look, under your leadership, what nobility is left in Slytherin?" Rory shouted at Vanessa, venting his frustration.

The young wizards didn't dare to intervene and scattered in small groups.

Anduin, upon hearing Rory's insinuation, didn't bother listening to his nonsense and walked off through the corridor next to the common room.

It seemed there were different factions in Slytherin. One group was essentially the neutral faction, unwilling to get involved in the Dark Lord's affairs, and the other was the pure-blood faction, who believed the Dark Lord could achieve victory.

Anduin pondered this as he walked, until he finally found his room.

Since the Slytherin dormitory had been converted from a dungeon, each cell was now a room. That also meant that in Slytherin, each student had their own private room. From that perspective, Anduin was quite satisfied with having been assigned to Slytherin.

Upon entering the room, what he saw was a luxuriously decorated four-poster bed, surrounded by polished stone walls. Two windows gave a direct view of the bottom of the lake. The room was decorated with emerald green and silver fabrics. There were candles and oil lamps on the desk and nightstand for lighting. Medieval tapestries hung on the walls, depicting famous adventures undertaken by the heirs of Slytherin.

"There's even a carpet. As for the decoration, there's nothing to complain about in this room." Although the things he had seen and heard since entering Slytherin hadn't given him a strong sense of belonging to the house, Anduin had no complaints about having been sorted into Slytherin—at least, not when it came to the room.

Anduin unpacked his luggage while thinking about his future plans. After a brief moment of reflection, he already had a strategy.

"From now on, I must keep a low profile. Training and preparation must continue. Slytherins are good at protecting themselves. I can't expect to rely on others, nor can I expect those pure-blood supremacists not to cause me trouble. Everything in the magical world is very tempting, but for now, I need to focus on staying safe and prioritize arming myself to build superior firepower." Anduin's military mindset made him define all unknowns as threats. Gradually, his eyes were no longer as humble as before, and slowly became firm and sharp.

The next day, at six in the morning, Anduin stretched.

Hogwarts' schedule consists of two consecutive classes from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., with a break between classes when the bell rings, followed by lunch. After lunch, classes resume from 1 p.m., again with two consecutive classes.

Dinner is still served in the Great Hall. Afterwards, students return to their respective common rooms to do homework or take part in social activities. The curfew for older students can be extended to 9 p.m.

Today is Tuesday. According to the schedule, the two morning classes are Charms, and in the afternoon, there's History of Magic.

Anduin dressed neatly, ready to take a walk around the castle to familiarize himself with the terrain and classroom locations. He checked that his wand was with him and opened the door to step out.

No one was in the common room at that hour. Through the ceiling, he could see a giant squid swimming in the lake. Anduin finally had the time to quietly observe the entire common room.

It must be said that whoever built the common room was undoubtedly powerful and possessed great aesthetic taste. The scenery at the bottom of the lake was truly astonishing.

After admiring it, Anduin left the Slytherin dormitory through the corridor he had entered from.

Anduin spent more than two hours walking all the routes of the castle. The randomly moving staircases nearly made him dizzy. Eventually, he simply used the Obstacle Charm to shape a magical staircase and jumped directly to each floor.

Hogwarts Castle has a massive main tower with a total of eight floors, made up of moving staircases. The headmaster's office is located on the top floor. A courtyard-like building connects several other towers. The main tower and the courtyard building contain most of the classrooms for each year and subject. In this courtyard, there is a drawbridge that leads to the Astronomy Tower.

The nearby towers are the Central Tower, the Black Tower, and the Clock Tower. Several towers are linked by another tall courtyard-style building. By passing through its corridor, you reach the library, and in the center of that building is the Central Courtyard. After passing through the library and the Central Courtyard via the corridor, there is a gate on the ground floor. That gate leads to several large greenhouses. Going around the greenhouses through the corridor, you reach the base of the Central Tower. There, you'll find two more bridges—one stone bridge that connects to the courtyard building on the side of the main tower, and another that leads to the Entrance Hall.
