Kind-hearted Grim Reaper

Chapter 25: Chapter 7: Hades' Flash (Part 2)_2

The man in white was sitting cross-legged on the ground, half-doubtingly following the method Ah Dai had explained. As Ah Dai had said, the chaotic poisonous gases were absorbed by the silvery sphere as soon as they came into contact with it. They were completely controlled within a small area, eliminating his need to struggle to suppress them fully. He used his strongest True Qi to envelop the gathering poison gas, preventing it from slowly seeping into his body as Ah Dai had warned. In a way, the toxicity of the Peerless Holy Water was no longer a threat to him. But he also knew very well that controlling the silver ball and the toxicity was consuming about half of his inner power, thus reducing his full power capacity.

Releasing a long sigh, the man in white opened his eyes. Ah Dai quickly asked, "How is it? How is it? Is my master's method effective?"

The color on the man in white's face softened significantly and he nodded slightly, "It's much better now. Thank you, young man."

Ah Dai gave a simple smile and said, "No need to thank me, no need to thank me. As long as it worked. But from now on, you have to keep the silver sphere floating in your body. If the poisonous gas disperses, the reaction may be even harsher. I must go, goodbye." Saying this, Ah Dai got up with a satisfied look, rubbed his somewhat sore shoulders, and walked into the mist.

"Wait." The white-robed man stopped Ah Dai. "You're Ah Dai, right? Young man, you saved me. Do you have any requests?" Being the proud 'Nether King', he did not want to owe anyone, and at the same time, he wanted to test if this straightforward child before him had any other motives.

Ah Dai was stunned for a moment and shook his head, "I don't have any requests, but could you maybe kill fewer people in the future? Even though those people are bad, if you kill them, they won't be able to eat steamed buns anymore."

A trace of a smile appeared on the white-robed man's face, "How do you know they're bad and how do you know I'm good?"

Ah Dai scratched his head, "I'm not sure, maybe because you don't look like a bad person. And those guys dressed in black don't seem like good people either. But, when you're killing, it's terrifying, and everything around you feels cold."

The white-robed man froze, a flash of surprise flickered in his eyes, "So, you were around when we were fighting? Do you feel unwell?"

Ah Dai shook his head, "I feel nothing abnormal! I have to go, since I made a mess in my master's lab and so I must hurry back to clean up. Otherwise, when he comes back in a few days, he will scold me." After saying that, he turned to the direction of the wooden house and walked away.

The white-robed man hesitated a moment before calling out once again to Ah Dai, "Could you allow me to rest at your place for a bit? I have exhausted my energy, I need to eat and rest well to replenish it. Otherwise, due to lack of True Qi, I may not be able to control the silver sphere."

Ah Dai thought for a moment, "No, I can't take you there. My Master won't be happy if he knows."

The white-robed man gave a slight smile, "No, he won't. If your master knew you saved someone, he would praise you. Besides, you should save someone from beginning to end, right? If you leave me here and those bad guys come back, I may still die!"

Ah Dai was moved by the gentle smile of the man in white. After hesitating for a while, he finally said, "Okay, but go as soon as you have rested. My Master might be back soon. He doesn't like strangers."

"Okay, I will leave as soon as I have rested." The white-robed man wanted to see what kind of place this boy named Ah Dai lived in. The house of an alchemist also had a certain attraction to him. Most importantly, he wanted to understand why this boy was not afraid of the evil aura emitted from his Sword of Hades.

Despite having been tormented by the Peerless Holy Water for days, the white-robed man is after all an expert. Now that the toxicity of the Holy Water is absorbed by the small Silver Sphere made by Ah Dai, he could once again walk on his own. Apart from controlling the silver sphere, he still retained about 20% to 30% of his abilities.

Ah Dai quickly led the man in white, "Nether King", to his wooden cabin. "Nether King" could not help but feel amazed upon seeing everything. "Did your master do all these? He must be a grandmaster of alchemy. Ah, such a delicately designed Array!"

Goris had never explained to Ah Dai what an array was, so Ah Dai only understood that the white-robed man was praising his master. He immediately said with a smile, "Yes, my master is indeed quite powerful. Are you tired? I will take you to rest now, and then I will find you something to eat. Perhaps a night's sleep might do good."

"Nether King" nodded and followed Ah Dai to his simply furnished wooden cabin. Without any hesitation, he sat cross-legged on the bed and began to meditate. His body and mind had been in a state of tension these past couple of days due to being tortured by the Peerless Holy Water. He needed to rest and recover. Seeing this, Ah Dai didn't disturb him. He collected a basketful of fruits from the orchard and quietly left. He was still excited about successfully creating the Silver Sphere and helping "Nether King" neutralise the deadly poison of the Peerless Holy Water. Little did he know that when Goris was trying to come up with this method, even he wasn't confident that it would work. The key requirement was that the person poisoned must possess an abnormally strong True Qi. If an ordinary person were poisoned by the Peerless Holy Water, they would have long since died, turning into a puddle of blue water. Even a magician who practices spiritual power would not be capable of resisting this number one deadly poison of the continent. For the method to work, it had to be applied to a person like "Nether King", who was amongst the top martial artists on the continent. Only someone of his level could realise Goris's theoretical method by controlling the Silver Sphere and the poisonous gases with his True Qi on a continuous basis, preventing them from spreading. Even so, near fifty percent of the "Nether King's" ability was consumed to control the Silver Sphere.

Once out of the cabin, Ah Dai first restored the lab to its original state and then started practicing his Meteor Fire outside with great concentration. Although he could almost control this magic now, its power was still too weak to cause any substantial damage. Each miniature fireball was barely much larger than a spark, designed to do little more than burn leaves, let alone anything stronger than that.

Since Meteor Fire was close to intermediate magic level, and Ah Dai had already spent a long time with the Flame Spell today, he started to feel tired after practicing for a while. He decided to sit on the steps in front of the wooden hut, leaning against the wooden wall, and unintentionally fell asleep.

"Ah Dai, wake up, wake up." After an unknown length of time, Ah Dai felt someone patting his face and woke up. Upon opening his eyes, he saw the white-robed man, "Nether King", whose complexion was much better now, and the blue color on his face had completely disappeared. It appeared that he had entirely controlled the toxicity of the Peerless Holy Water.

"Ah, sir, you are feeling better."

"Nether King" nodded and said, "Yes, I am. You seem tired, why don't you go to your room and sleep? It's already night."

Only then did Ah Dai notice that it was evening, the night accompanied by the dense fog around emitted an air of mystery. He stood up and stretched his somewhat stiff body, then headed back to the room. Initially he had thought of asking the man in white to leave as soon as he felt better, but when he saw that it was already late, he changed his mind as one could easily lose one's way in the dark forest. Better let him stay the night here.
