Chapter 23: Chapter 7: Hades' Flash (Part 1)_2
The man in white kept his right hand on his chest, speaking calmly, "This is the first time someone has seen the Sword of Hades in action and survived. In consideration of our past association, you may leave. I presume that should suffice for your superiors. I do not wish to kill any more today."
Mie Yi glanced at Mie Liu and Mie Shi, now skeletal remains. Clenching his teeth in anger, he growled, "Take their bodies. Let's leave." With a slight push against the ground, he hovered in front of Mie Shiyi, who had fallen under the wide sword of the man in white, and picked up his corpse. None of the other men in black spoke. Two of them cradled the bodies of Mie Liu and Mie Shi under their arms, then the remaining men, maintaining their formation, slowly retreated, disappearing into the mist.
The man in white laughed at his own predicament, murmuring to himself, "I never thought that there'd come a day when I, the 'Nether King', would have to resort to deception to preserve my own life." His body swayed slightly, grabbing the wide sword in front of him for support, "What a formidable Divine Water! Am I to die here?" His body softened and he fell to the ground.
Originally, the man in white barely managed to suppress the poison of the Divine Water using his pure True Qi. However, in order to drive away the men in black, he was forced to use his True Qi and his unique skills. The poison could no longer be suppressed, and he could no longer hold on.
Ah Dai stared blankly at the scene unfolding before him, rubbing his eyes. The memory of the incident seemed surreal. The unusually powerful Evil Aura had left a deep impression on his heart. He had never imagined that someone could release such a powerful attack. The aura that Goris exuded when he used the Black Flame was incomparable to that of the man in white. If not for the man in white fainting not far from him, he would have thought it was all a dream. Unbeknownst to him, he had narrowly escaped death. The man in white's Evil Aura would disturb even someone as skilled as Mie Yi, not to mention frail Ah Dai. If not for the Fruit of Past Life's ceaseless vitality that helped him expel the Evil Aura, he would have already died from disorder in his meridians.
After a while, Ah Dai regained his senses. He slowly stood up and walked towards the man in white. He wanted to see what effects the consuming of the Divine Water, highly recommended by Goris, would have on a person.
It took Ah Dai five minutes to cover the short hundred-meter distance to the man in white. He could hear his own heartbeats clearly, after all, the horrifying scene he had just witnessed was too much for a child not yet twelve years old. The lives of three men had vanished within moments.
Finally, Ah Dai arrived at the man's side. He squatted down, examining the unconscious man in white. His face was draped with a white veil, with only two small holes for the eyes. The man's body was twitching slightly.
"He's not dead." Ah Dai fell onto his butt in fright, this man was still alive?
The man in white didn't make a sound, he was still twitching slightly. It occurred to Ah Dai that this man must be one of those powerful figures Goris had mentioned, being able to suppress the poison of the Divine Water this long. Although Goris had not found the antidote for the Divine Water, he thought of a method to temporarily suppress its poison. Since they didn't have the Divine Water, they could not experiment with it. Goris had once said that dying by Divine Water may be considered a blessing, and he deeply regretted not testing the method of suppressing its poison.
Should he save him? A seed of kindness grew in Ah Dai's heart. He carefully removed the man's veil, revealing a thin but handsome middle-aged face. The man's skin was fair, his eyebrows resembled swords flying into his temples, his nose was straight and mouth square. His face was tinted with a faint blue, seemingly getting more intense. He was clenching his teeth tightly, seemingly enduring immense pain.
Ah Dai looked the man over but couldn't figure out if he was bad. He naively thought, those men in black were definitely the bad guys, and the man in white killed them out of self-defence. He should save him, and also help Goris test the method of suppressing the Divine Water's poison. But he hadn't considered what might happen if the man in white woke up hostile against him.
When thought of this, Ah Dai hesitated no longer. He knew the more time he wasted, the less likely the man in white would survive. He struggled to lift the man's arm and rested it on his own narrow shoulder.
So heavy! Ah Dai pulled with all his might, managing to move the man in white only slightly. Despite several attempts, he could not move him much. What should he do? Ah Dai squatted next to the man, wiped the sweat off his forehead, puzzled.
Ah! If he couldn't take him back, he'd save him here. Ah Dai slapped his own head, turned around, and ran towards the log cabin.
Back in the cabin, Ah Dai rushed into Goris's laboratory. Having memorised the notes thoroughly, he knew exactly what was needed to suppress the poison of the Divine Water.
"Um, three ounces of silver, one ounce of Crystal Powder, half an ounce of Heart Extinguishing Grass, isn't this Heart Extinguishing Grass a strong poison, why use so much? Oh well, what the teacher said must be right. A quarter ounce of "Qi-cleansing Frost", a third of an ounce of Fragrant Wind Grass..." Ah Dai carefully found all the items listed on the note and put them into a small pot. He poured in some clean water, stirred it a few times with a medicinal pestle, and nodded with satisfaction.
"Teacher, don't blame Ah Dai when you return! I used your things to save someone." The naive Ah Dai remembered Goris's instruction.
Rubbing his hands together, an excited Ah Dai muttered to himself, "Alright, I'm starting now. The Fire Elements that permeate the universe, please grant me the power of combustion. By my name, I borrow your power. Appear now, radiant flame." With a hiss, a blue flame emerged from Ah Dai's palm. He carefully moved his palm under the pot, using the flame to heat it.
Through continuous practice, Ah Dai had become proficient in the Flame Spell, and after ten months of contemplation, he could easily control the temperature of the flame. In a short while, the water began to boil. Ah Dai knew that among the ingredients, only the silver was hard to melt, so he had used a specially prepared quick-melt powder which Goris had made, that had no medicinal properties. Even so, it took about an hour to fully blend all the ingredients together.
