NOVEL WEB Chapter 1386: The Gallop Brothers.
[Brothers?] The Demon Knights repeated with obvious confusion in their voices.
As Kaijin, none of them technically had any familial relations with one another. At least, not strong or formal ones that could actually apply to any of them.
However, for reasons they couldn't comprehend yet, the [Demon Knights] couldn't help but to actually take this weird seahorse's words seriously.
Especially when they heard this next set of [Chaos]-enhanced words.
[Unloading Gallop Brother 02: Sky Prancer]
The construct transformed once again; only this time, the doors formed on the back of the construct.
This set of doors had "02" emblazoned on it, and the moment they opened, a howling wind and a strange chopping sound roared through the cavern...but only for a moment.
Overpowering the sound was an electric, echoing voice that sounded confident.
[Alright, alright, clear the runways! I'm taking off!]
From this backdoor, another humanoid cyborg with a horse's head shot outwards and upwards with ludicrous speed.
For a brief moment, observers thought that the figure resembled a pegasus and they were... partially right.
However, the humanoid in question didn't just have feathered wings.
None of the observers knew at the time, but this particular kaijin had biplane wings coming out of his shoulders, and their chest actually housed an incredibly powerful engine with a propeller on the front. Granted, some of the sharper-eyed warriors recognized that this apparatus was the key reason why this kaijin was moving through the air with such speed and ferocity.
Well, that engine was part of the reason anyways. The main reason was that this newly minted kaijin was finally releasing some pent-up emotional trauma from a past life.
Regardless, as this new kaijin entered the battlefield, the [Demon Knights] found themselves blindsided as the aforementioned newcomer flew into the middle of their formation faster than they could retaliate in a timely manner.
It didn't stop Obsidious and Delictum from attempting to strike at the intruder while Slavina began to voice her complaints, though.
[Who the hell is-?!]
[Double Cyclone Piercer!]
However, before Slavina could finish voicing her complaint about the situation, the flying cyborg kaijin released a burst of violent wind-based [Chaos] that slammed into the [Demon Knights] and sent them flying into the walls, out of the pit, or towards the tar-covered ground.
Correction: most of the [Demon Knights]
Surprisingly, Gumba wasn't as affected by this sudden burst of wind and was able to mount a counterattack after the others had gotten blown away.
[You flighty son of a bitch! I'll smash your wings into powder!] Gumba roared as he manifested a morning star [Taboo] and swung for the pegasus kaijin's face.
Unfortunately, this flyer wasn't going to be Gumba's opponent, and he wasn't going to get hit either.
[Unloading Gallop Brother 03: Trail Blazer]
For the final time this evening, the strange construct transformed to reveal a third door that was located directly atop the "01" door, but this one came with a ramp that had rails built into it.
[Woooooo! There aren't going to be any brakes on me when I run. So you better haul ass or get smashed!,] a booming, almost whistling voice called out as the ramp extended and the gates opened up once more.
From this gate, an intense surge of heat and steam poured out from the opening and covered the people stuck in the star.
Oddly, this steam didn't burn or injure the people in any way. Instead, it filled them with a feeling that they hadn't felt in a very long time: a profound sense of [Hope].
As this feeling filled every vein and nerve in their bodies, the sound of a warming engine filled their ears.
Chuga-chuga-chuga-WOO! WOO!
Charging out of the "03" gate, a dark bronze humanoid figure with a long spiraling horn coming from their forehead, covered in a massive cloud of steam, made their appearance.
Cloaked in this cloud, many onlookers thought that they were looking at a charging unicorn for a split second as the bronze humanoid leaped off of the rail ramp and towards the position where the flying horse cyborg was about to get bodied by Gumba.
[Oi, big bro! Move out of the way so I can punch that fat fucker and burn his built-in butter while I'm at it!] the horned humanoid roared while his fists became cloaked in bright blue flames.
[That is foul, but the fight's all yours!]
Heeding the words of his ally, the pegasus kaijin dropped from the air by killing their engine and literally falling towards the ground and into the open arms of the armor-plated aquatic horse cyborg from earlier. At the same time, the horned humanoid was now in striking distance of Gumba's very fat, very punchable face.
[Pyroclastic Pounder!]
BOOM!
A loud explosion rocked through the caverns as the heavy blow literally exploded upon contact with Gumba's flabby flesh and sent the catfish kaijin barreling away.
[That was for the last time we fought, you fat fuck,] the horned humanoid muttered as he fell to the ground to rejoin his brothers.
As the trio reunited with each other, the [Demon Knights] used it as an opportunity to get back into formation.
Granted, they had wanted to simply rush in and attack, but their instincts as warriors told them that was a trap.
Ergo, they decided to play it safe for the first time in forever.
They would've also used this opportunity to try and rally the lesser kaijin to assist them, but those aformentioned fellows were busy trying to gang up on Nepherage and Blazejudicator.
Emphasis on the word, "trying".
These two hot-headed kaijin of Zhen Liu were proving themselves more than capable of fighting against uneven odds, especially when they were able to communicate with each other via their newly repaired link.
[Looks like the Executor has finished creating our new comrades,] Blazejudicator observed while releasing a jet of flames that pierced through a weird emu-looking bastard of a kaijin.
[Yes,] Nepherage agreed. [And we owe them an opportunity to properly introduce themselves, don't you think?]
[Agreed.]
As such, when the [Demon Knights] and the newly minted trio of Kaijin gone over to their established sides, the former repeated a question they had asked the iron-plated seahorse moments.
[Who the hell are you guys?!]
At this point in time, the three equine-like kaijin were standing shoulder to shoulder and ready to finally reintroduce their new and improved selves.
[Who are we?,] the seahorse kaijin repeated while stepping forward. [Well, we're—]
[Hold up! Hold up! Hold up!] The pegasus Kaijin interrupted as he walked over to the unicorn themed kaijin with a clear look of confusion and mild dissatisfaction on his face. [Why the fuck do you look more human than the both of us?]
[Pardon me?]
[What the fuck?]
Needless to say, this sudden outburst killed whatever tension was in the room threw the [Demon Knights] for a loop. Hell, that comment threw everyone watching this battle unfold for a massive loop.
[I'm just saying little bro,] the pegasus kaijin continued, [I got a horse head, big bro got a mechanical seahorse head going on. It's unfair man, you actually look human.]
[I...I have a giant horny sticking out of my forehead and a steam engine for a torso,] the unicorn-themed kaijin pointed out.
[Still, though!]
[Oi! Can you two stop arguing and get back in formation?] The seahorse kaijin scolded his younger brothers. [We have introductions to make and asses to kick.]
[Right, right!] The unicorn cyborg agreed while warming themselves back up.
[Sorry, big bro,] the pegasus kaijin apologized before getting back into position.
[Okay...okay!] The seahorse kaijin roared in order to get his spirit back into the fight. [You asked who we are, well, we're do you the favor of doing so now!]
With a surge of [Chaos] that was clearly water aligned and a surprisingly intimidating pose, the seahorse kaijin took the lead.
[I am the eldest brother,Depth Strider! The one who rides the waves of Determination!]
Following his lead, the pegasus kaijin released a surge of wind-based [Chaos] before posing as well.
[Middle brother, Pegasoar at your service! Upon the winds of Freedom, I ride!]
With a slam of his fists against each other, last of the trio released a wave of heat that could only be matched by his fiery fighting spirit.
[Youngest brother, Railhorn! The flames of Hope burn bright within my chest.]
After making their individual introductions, the trio coordinated their next moves before speaking sync.
[We are the brave pioneers, the ones who will travel across every sea, chart sky, and explore every land.]
After making this statement, the trio proceeded to make a group pose followed by their apparent group name announcement.
[We are the Gallop Brothers! The Explorers of Infinity and we heed the call of the true Kaijin Lord!]
BOOM!
"WHAT THE FUCK?!"
And as if the universe had a sense of humor, the energy construct that was directly behind the Gallop Brothers, suddenly exploded into a tri-colored cloud of smoke.
