Kaijin Fighter: So I Have to Make Monsters, So What?

Chapter 1378: Sadistic Slimeball

"No, no, no!"

"Get off of the way!"

"RUN!"

When the ground beneath the rebels fell apart, despair soon took place in their hearts.

The absolute worst case scenario, the one scenario they were all hoping to avoid, had happened.

All of the fighting, all of the bloodshed, and all of the vicious monsters that had plagued their existences like eternal nightmares, had finally spilled over and was about to affect all of the non-combatants.

Due to the haphazard way that the [Mines of Malevolence] gathered slaves, many of its inhabitants weren't actually warriors, but they were related to the slaves that could be considered warriors.

These were the elderly.

These were the terminally sick.

These were the children that had nowhere else to go.

They were the rebellious, the stupid, and the absolute lowest quality of slave that could ever be put to market, where it would've been cheaper to just kill them and move on.

Or in this case, it was more lucrative to sell them off to a shady ass buyer that had no criteria when it came to the quality of slave.

These slaves were destined to die anyways, so having it delayed to work in a shitty mine was no big deal...at least, that's the impression many got from the outside looking in.

The rebel warriors had fought with the hope that their loved ones, their friends, and their families wouldn't become casualties.

The warriors didn't mind dying if it meant the people they supported were given a chance to live a better life...but they definitely didn't want to survive while all their loved ones died.

But alas, that seemed to be the tragedy that was about to unfold.

If it wasn't going to be the falling debris that would crush the huddling, scared slaves to death, then it was going to be the vicious kaijin looking to demoralize the mortal warriors that had dared to rebel in the first place.

After all, if you can't kill a man physically, you kill them spiritually.

Surprisingly, though, neither the rocks nor the kaijin would have a chance to harm even the hair of these unfortunate slaves.

Before any of the rebels, the kaijin, the zakos, or even the slaves themselves could understand what was going on, a flurry of actions had taken place.

First, the rubble that was on the way to crush the cowering slaves beneath them had suddenly been destroyed, reduced to powder thanks to the sudden appearance of several black projectiles that were no bigger than marbles.

Miraculously, none of these marbles impacted any of the people on the ground or in the air.

Second, the kaijin didn't get a chance to retaliate, because a mass of pitch-black tentacles appeared from out of nowhere as well and grabbed them all by the waist before retracting and pulling the kaijin out of their fall.

The tentacles did not fully pull the kaijin back to the very edges of the pit but instead pulled them straight upwards.

The kaijin initially protested before suddenly stiffening up and changing expressions. Immediately after they released, due to calming down, they began to float in the air.

This action should've immediately set off alarm bells inside the heads of all of the warriors present, but they didn't react to this sight in the slightest.

They were too busy indulging in the sweet feeling of relief…a feeling that was amplified by those aforementioned kaijin.

"Oh, thank the gods!"

"You're okay!"

"My baby boy!"

With the possible tragedy-inducing event now over, many of the rebel warriors immediately laid down their arms in order to make sure that their loved ones were okay.

Now, any strategist or scholar with even a weak understanding of war knows that doing something like this in the middle of a battlefield was the equivalent of asking for death. But alas, the rebels were on an emotional high and were unable to realize this fact.

On the plus side, there were so many heartwarming interactions occurring due to this moment of unexpected peace.

For example…

^Big…bro…big bro!^

^Huh? That voice…it can't be.^

When Kyle signed up to be a part of the rebellion, he had done so with the idea that he would gain the ability to fix his brother's condition after the fighting had all resolved.

But now, like a miracle from on high, his little brother Samuel actually called out to him in a worried tone of voice, referring to him by his actual familial relation, no less!

War and kaijin be damned, Kyle was just happy to be reunited with his family once again.

Alas…this joy was part of a calculated moment of pure cruelty.

In fact, all of these little heartfelt moments were calculated.

Why?

Because there is no greater sorrow than one that immediately follows the loss of a great moment of joy.

…Uh oh…

When the ground collapsed, the kaijin had initially wanted to go wild and slaughter all of the non-combatants.

They didn't appreciate being ganged up on and being slain by their lessers, so they felt it was their duty to remind these foolish rebels of the consequences of what would happen for defying their betters.

But...they didn't do that.

Not because they had a sudden change of heart, or because they were bored of the killing, mind you.

No, they stopped, because they were given a terribly wonderful idea by the same kaijin that had stopped them from going in for the kill in the first place.

As they continued to float in place, the horde of kaijin were soon joined by their master, and his elites.

[I'm a little surprised you managed to get these rowdy bastards to come to heel,] Dante praised Oizys. [It took your older counterparts quite a bit of time to be able to force their respective divisions to heed their orders.]

[Well, that's the difference between us, master,] Oizys began to explain with a sycophantic tone that would make even the most avid of ass-kissers queasy. [I am superior to them in practically every way.]

Needless to say, the Demon Knights didn't appreciate this level of sass from their junior.

[I'm going to eat him, swear to the creator, I'm going to eat him once this battle is over,] Obsidious growled.

[Not before I cut off his head you won't,] Delictum concurred.

Slavina and Gumba stayed silent in their desires to murder their master's newest warrior, but the feeling was present.

Regardless, once Dante and his elites made their entrance, the floating Kaijin all began to bow their heads in a show of loyalty...but they couldn't help but to verbalize their desire for blood.

[Master, when can we go on the attack? Their mushy behavior is starting to make me feel ill.]

[Look over there! That couple is embracing each other as if this is going to be the last time they'll be able to do so. Can we just cement that fact already?]

[They're crying tears of joy, let's turn them into tears of despair already!]

Due to their distance from the meeting and crying rebels and slaves beneath them, the kaijin were able to express these feelings without fear of alerting their soon-to-be targets.

Dante, for his part, kept quiet in response to the calls of his kaijin. However, he knew better than to leave them hanging like this for too long.

Once he reached a point that was above the dead center of the newly created hole in his mine, Dante finally asked the question that had been bothering him.

[Oizys, how do you plan to bring ultimate suffering to the slaves?]

[Well, I was going to simply start unleashing hell and killing all of their loved ones in front of them...but that's not as fun. Instead, I have something more...sensual in mind,] Oizys snickered with a vicious smile. [Senior Gumba, would you mind assisting me?]

[Huh?]

[There's a big hole in the cavern. We need to fill it up.]

[Why would we...ooooohhhh. I get it,] Gumba eventually put together after rubbing his two brain cells together. [I like the way you think.]

...Oh, shit...

Feelings of relief and heartfelt moments were ubiquitous at this moment, but not everyone was caught up in this wave of emotion.

Some of the warriors were keeping an eye on the kaijin above them, but they were such a minority that attempting to continue fighting at this time was useless.

However, because they were focusing on these monsters with such heavy intent, they were able to alert everyone else that things were about to get very, very ugly.

"Hey, is that a new Kaijin? I don't recognize him."

"I'm pretty sure that's a her."

"I'm pretty sure that I don't care, because it's radiating the most sinister fucking aura I've felt in my entire life."

Hovering above their heads, the rebels saw that Gumba of Despair was accompanied by this strange humanoid made of tar and what they could only describe as distilled disgust.

Needless to say, their presence got them incredibly worried.

"What are they doing?"
