Judgment Descends Upon the Naruto World

Chapter 102: Chapter 102: Chiyu Becoming the Hokage!

Sarutobi Hiruzen was dead.

He had been publicly judged and executed by Chiyu before the entire village, his reputation destroyed, subjected to unparalleled shame and curses, dying with resentment.

For a moment, all the shinobi and villagers of Konoha felt a flurry of mixed emotions, but at the thought of Sarutobi Hiruzen's countless unforgivable crimes, all they could feel was that he deserved it; no pardon for his sins.

For the Uchiha Clan, it was a cause for jubilant celebration—this was the most glorious day they could imagine.

On the rubble of the collapsed Hokage Building, everyone gazed upon Sarutobi Hiruzen's severed head, filled with marvel…

For a Hokage to be publicly beheaded—this was not only unprecedented in the Konoha, but likely without equal anywhere in the shinobi world.

As for Chiyu, he was rather calm.

After dealing with Sarutobi Hiruzen, he next walked over to Koharu and the other remaining captives, executing them all one by one.

[You have successfully "dealt" with Sarutobi Hiruzen and granted him a comparatively dignified end. Great Merit! +10,000 Virtue Points!]

[You have successfully "persuaded" Koharu to rejoin her old companions in the afterlife. Great Mercy! +1,000 Points Virtue Points!]

[You have successfully "encouraged" Hiruzen's remaining subordinates to keep following his path. Great Virtue! +1,000 Points Virtue Points!]

The extra twelve thousand merit points gained were again allocated to the Mangekyō Sharingan's power.

Current Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan (EMS) Power: 43,500 / 50,000!

Chiyu felt a subtle stirring: originally, he had estimated he would need fifty thousand points of merit to evolve beyond the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan—seemingly a distant goal. Yet now, it was practically within reach!

Mainly, in these past few days, he had harvested tremendous merit by killing Uchiha Itachi, Sarutobi Hiruzen, Koharu, Homura, by wiping out the Anbu, and exterminating both the Sarutobi and Shimura clans. A colossal "bounty" indeed—astonishing virtues!

Below, the crowds were all abuzz, their clamor growing.

Amid the ruins of the Hokage Building, people turned and looked toward Chiyu, awaiting his next move.

Chiyu surveyed them. "Sarutobi Hiruzen is dead," he said. "The Konoha can't remain leaderless. I shall be Hokage. Any objections?"

All were momentarily stunned. Indeed, this man was always so direct—plain and forthright, not mincing words.

Naturally, the Uchiha Clan wholeheartedly supported him, erupting in cheers.

Uchiha Fugaku gave a smile. "I wholeheartedly approve."

Hatake Kakashi also said, "No one else can command the village's respect like Chiyu-dono."

Hyūga Hiashi recalled the past—when his daughter Hinata was kidnapped by the Kumo, Hiruzen had forced him to sacrifice someone from his clan to appease them. If not for Chiyu's decisive act in killing the entire Kumo envoy, the Hyūga would have been left to an unjust fate. Hiashi promptly spoke up:

"Hyūga Clan absolutely supports this!"

The Ino–Shika–Chō trio exchanged glances. They had tacitly sided with Uchiha before.

Seeing how Chiyu's directives so far had treated them quite favorably, they too had no intention of going against him.

Nara Shikaku stated calmly, "Ino–Shika–Chō likewise agrees."

With Aburame, Inuzuka, and the rest voicing agreement, there was no dissent.

In an instant, Chiyu was thus officially recognized as the new Hokage of Konoha!

An excited roar of approval immediately filled the ruins of the Hokage Building. Some older folks among the crowd began to weep tears—of mingled sadness and relief.

From this moment forth, Konoha had changed hands.

News that Uchiha Chiyu had executed Sarutobi Hiruzen in public and declared himself Hokage soon spread throughout the shinobi world. Great shockwaves ensued.

Various major villages and factions began scrambling for information. Although they believed Konoha might be weakened by infighting—thus creating an opportunity—Chiyu's terrifying reputation made them wary.

Meanwhile, within Konoha, Chiyu steadily consolidated internal order.

As Hokage, he appointed Hatake Kakashi as commander of the newly restructured Anbu. Kakashi recruited loyal remnants from before—such as Gekko Hayate, Uzuki Yugao—and also attracted new talents: Mitarashi Anko, Namiashi Raidō, Yamashiro Aoba, Shiranui Genma, Iwashi Tatami, etc.

Notably, Namiashi Raidō, Genma, and Iwashi had once been part of the Fourth Hokage Namikaze Minato's personal guard. Together, they could perform the Flying Thunder Formation—a collaborative technique capable of short-range teleportation for people and objects.

Under Chiyu's leadership, the new Anbu no longer lurked in secrecy. They functioned more or less like a normal agency, albeit still handling special covert tasks.

As for the Police Force, Uchiha Fugaku resumed the captaincy, though Chiyu of course retained overriding authority. The Force included veterans like Uchiha Yashiro, plus mid-level standouts like Uchiha Tekka, Uchiha Inabi, and rising youngsters like Uchiha Aoki, Uchiha Yamakaze, etc.

For the other clans, Chiyu let them each do what they excelled at. Nara Shikaku took on advisory roles; Akimichi Choza managed outer defenses; Yamanaka Inoichi handled intelligence and analysis; Hyūga Hiashi oversaw reconnaissance and monitoring; the Aburame and Inuzuka Clans, likewise, each found roles suiting their strengths.

Morino Ibiki led the Interrogation Department, remaining partly independent but coordinating closely with Anbu and Intelligence.

Above all was the Hokage, whose councils now included Chiyu presiding, flanked by Police Force Captain Fugaku on the left, and Anbu Commander Kakashi on the right. In attendance also were the heads of the main clans, with Shikaku, Hiashi, et al., each fulfilling their assigned role.

During one meeting, Shikaku submitted a report:

"Hokage-sama, we've stabilized the internal situation. The remnants of Sarutobi Hiruzen's faction have been cleaned up, and all the clans plus the populace are now united, relieved of fear. However, there remain a few major concerns…"

He explained that the greatest immediate threat was the Cloud Village. Hiruzen had once tried to sign an unfair, humiliating agreement with them, making concessions just so he could concentrate on overthrowing the Uchiha.

But with Hiruzen now gone, the Kumo wouldn't let things rest. Their Fourth Raikage was already demanding negotiations with the newly installed Hokage—i.e., Chiyu—or threatening war.

Chiyu calmly said he would personally "talk" with the Raikage.

Shikaku warned, "The Raikage is a hotheaded fellow; you killed their envoys earlier, so he won't be friendly."

Hiashi scoffed. "They're always trying to seize others' bloodline limits. If not for Hiruzen's cowardly approach, we would have fought them long ago."

Shikaku just smiled wryly.

He then added that notifying the Land of Fire's Daimyō was advisable—purely to handle political formalities. Chiyu simply told Shikaku to take care of it.

Finally, there was the question of the Nine-Tails Jinchūriki, Uzumaki Naruto. With Hiruzen's deception exposed, the boy's real identity as the Fourth Hokage's son was known. But that also posed risks. Chiyu merely said, "He's five, correct? Let him enroll early in the Academy. There, he can train with kids his own age. Kakashi, send Anbu to watch over him."

Kakashi accepted, feeling remorse for not looking after Naruto sooner.

Then, the meeting ended with Chiyu quietly stating his own intentions:

"I'll handle informing the Raikage personally…"
