Chapter 733 Toregia's Analysis of Gatanothor
"Why are you two here?!"
Camilla was suppressing Gatanjeau's awakening at this moment, her body unable to move freely. Most of her energy was focused on dealing with the dark forces trying to invade her body from Gatanjeau.
As a result, Belial and Toregia swaggered in without Camilla noticing.
"The ancient ruins, so many giant statues, I guessed right, three hundred million years ago, the ancient civilization truly had the potential to become a second Land of Light, but alas—"
Toregia shook his head and sighed, "Humans are too weak, goodness and evil coexist within one person, unable to truly control such pure power."
The ancestors of the residents of the Land of Light evolved through exposure to the plasma spark. Although compared to the giants of this world, they weren't the purest light, they wouldn't have their dark side amplified by overly pure light.
In hundreds of thousands of years, only Belial emerged, and that was due to envy, such a minor emotion.
As for Toregia himself, he certainly wouldn't count himself in—after all, he was merely pursuing cosmic truth, not harboring a dark heart.
The purer something is, the harder it is to control.
"Hmph, stop with the nonsense." Belial had no interest in Toregia's philosophy, taking a few steps forward, he said to Camilla, "Suppressing the Evil God, how noble, it's really unsightly to me."
Camilla's heart sank.
These two were up to no good. If they intended to attack her, she would have to give up suppressing Gatanjeau's awakening and temporarily escape from here.
But doing so would undoubtedly expedite Gatanjeau's awakening.
What a hassle!
"Please don't worry, Miss Camilla, we wouldn't be so ungentlemanly as to interrupt your great endeavor. We are just here to borrow some dark power."
Toregia smiled, raising his hand to capture some of the dark aura permeating the space, gaining a little understanding of its energy essence. "Though it's not quite the same as the infamous chaotic Evil God Grimde, the darkness is indeed dense and worth a try."
"Grimde? What is that?" Camilla sought to gather intelligence.
"Oh, my dear Miss Camilla, did you think I would tell you?" Toregia retorted with a sneer, spreading his arms as if embracing the darkness, and began his chant:
"Great Evil God of Darkness!"
"Tartaros!"
"I offer my body as a sacrifice to exchange for powerful dark energy!"
In an instant, the dark energy within the ancient ruins surged, and Gatanjeau, sleeping outside, seemed about to awaken yet ultimately kept its eyes closed.
"Hmm?" Toregia lowered his arms, contemplating something.
"Failed?" Belial mocked.
"To think you could gain Gatanjeau's power, how naive, you blue clown," Camilla taunted ruthlessly, "Under my requiem, it will not awaken prematurely."
Toregia placed his hands behind his back and said, "It's not because of your doing but because Gatanjeau is a physical entity. In essence, it is still a creature and not beyond the concept of life chaos, somewhat inferior to the legendary Grimde but with the potential to evolve towards Grimde."
The earlier communication, though unsuccessful, allowed Toregia to somewhat understand Gatanjeau's situation through the surging dark energy.
The name of the Evil God is not unfounded.
But Gatanjeau should not be complete yet and hasn't evolved into a true Evil God. To achieve true dark evil godhood, continuous devouring is necessary.
What it devours is not ordinary matter and energy but wisdom!
Only intelligent entities can generate feelings of despair, making their souls a delectable delicacy through their cries!
Gatanjeau relishes in savoring souls of despair—
As do most Evil Gods.
This suggests that perhaps Gatanjeau has existed since the birth of Earth, repeatedly sleeping and awakening, continuously devouring the despairing souls of the earth's intelligent creatures throughout history. Thanks for reading—brought to you by M|VL|EMPYR.
The ancient civilization was just one among them.
Then why not venture into the cosmos?
The vast universe contains countless stars, countless intelligent species, why not devour them, leaving Earth alone?
Toregia also speculated on the reason.
Judging from the dark energy within this space, while extremely corrosive, it's somewhat "heavy," potentially able to spread globally in the future but unable to leave Earth's atmosphere, captured by Earth's gravity.
Therefore, even if these dark forces could erode everything, they couldn't travel far from Earth.
The universe is too vast; spreading darkness to another life-bearing planet would take not just thirty million years... So, in Gatanjeau's mind, spreading darkness to seek another life planet is not as efficient as eating a meal, then sleeping, waiting for new "food" to "grow" domestically."
Taking life easy at home, eating then sleeping, why waste time venturing outside?
Perhaps this is the truth of the Evil God!
The concept of God has never been self-assigned by "God" but is given by "lower" beings who view "higher" beings with reverence and aspiration.
Evil God is the same.
Just like the ordinary residents of the Land of Light, even a child of several hundred years, placed on Earth, would be a god-like existence.
"To be suppressed by a woman, this Evil God doesn't seem all that," Belial said disdainfully, though only he knew that during the earlier dark energy turmoil, every muscle in his body had tightened.
Toregia was unconcerned, chuckling, "You can't say that. This Evil God just hasn't fully awakened yet; its power is still in the recovery phase. Once it truly opens its eyes, its dark energy could devour the entire Earth, given time, devouring the entire universe wouldn't be out of the question."
"Is it that exaggerated?" Belial showed some interest, "Then can I obtain its power? In my hands, this power would certainly be wielded more effectively!"
Before entering these ruins, Belial had already seen Gatanjeau's form, a giant sea snail over four hundred meters tall.
Its body was quite massive but seemed cumbersome to him. Apart from those pincers and tentacles, its attack methods were likely long-range dark energy attacks.
Its defense might be formidable, but Belial believed that if he were to fight it, he could entirely focus on attacking its softer parts, without the need to confront its shell directly.
In his view, Gatanjeau was merely a heavy artillery meat tank with virtually no flexibility.
Though Gatanjeau was still asleep, he had already made his judgment. If he could acquire its dark power, he could certainly unleash even greater strength.
"If you want to gain dark power, the energy dissipating here can be absorbed and sealed within the body," Toregia said calmly.
