Journey to the West: Life Simulation of Sun Wukong

Chapter 58: Peach of the Mortal World

"Crown Prince Nezha, impressive skills indeed!"

Tianpeng Marshal climbed onto the platform, using some effort to pull the nine-toothed rake from the iron stones, and said to Nezha with a compliment.

Nezha was quite pleased, but responded unceremoniously, "It's because you're too weak. Your weapon might be heavy, but it's not meant for fighting. Its movements are too broad and too open, making it easy for others to see through, only good for bluffing."

Tianpeng Marshal chuckled and said, "Crown Prince Nezha is right, this rake is only used for ceremonial purposes at large events. If it were to be used as a weapon, it would only be good for random hacking."

In fact, this rake as a weapon could annihilate a multitude of divine weapons.

After all, it was personally forged by the ancient sage Laojun.

A product of Laojun is guaranteed to be of the finest quality.

Although this nine-toothed rake wasn't as versatile as the Ruyi Jingu Bang, which could transform into myriad forms at will, it could still change size according to the bearer's needs, albeit with the recitation of a spell.

Unfortunately, the real issue was that Marshal Tianpeng's skills indeed fell short. Even though the nine-toothed rake had the capability to transform, he couldn't unleash even a bit of its potential power.

Presumably, if there were live targets, Marshal Tianpeng could use this rake to obliterate a significant number all at once.

"Wukong!"

At that moment, Nezha, with his keen eyesight, spotted Sun Wukong arriving at the platform, cheered loudly, and jumped down to greet him.

Along with Marshal Tianpeng, dozens of other Tianhe Marshals came forward to greet him as well.

Though the position of the Eastern Leisurely Spirit King was not directly above theirs, the rank was significantly higher than theirs, necessitating flattery.

"We pay our respects to the Spirit King."

All the marshals and the Tianhe Naval Forces bowed in unison.

"No need for such formalities."

Sun Wukong casually waved his hand and said to Nezha, "Nezha, in June of the mortal realm, I am hosting a banquet at Huaguo Mountain and inviting all the deities. You must come as well."

"No problem," Nezha laughed, "Just make sure to prepare some more tofu cakes. My father couldn't stop praising them. I even took some to the brothers in the South Sea, and they said the Bodhisattva liked them too."

"Is that so? Then why don't you make a trip to the South Sea and invite the Bodhisattva over?" Sun Wukong suggested.

"I can do that, but why don't you go?" Nezha asked.

"I'm not yet acquainted with the Bodhisattva. At the Huaguo Meeting, you can introduce us, and that will be that," Sun Wukong said with a playful smile, then addressed the naval forces and marshals, "If any of you have time, you are also welcome to join the fun."

"If we are available, we will certainly come!"

The naval force marshals expressed their excitement with laughter and cheerful words.

Afterward, Sun Wukong invited everyone to his residence in the heavenly realm to drink, and their faces lit up even more...

...

Back in Huaguo Mountain, it was already April in the mortal realm, with grass growing tall and orioles flying, amidst the chirping of birds and fragrant flowers.

Various types of fruits were already ripening.

Upon returning to Shuilian Cave, Sun Wukong ordered Ao Yun, the four monkeys, and the demon kings of seventy-two cities to prepare for the grand banquet in June that was to welcome the celestial beings from the heavenly court and dispersed immortals from abroad.

Ao Yun planned a route that would have the deities arrive at the island's port and enter through the Great Wall's gate, passing through seventy-three cities and arriving at the holy city in front of Shuilian Cave, then proceeding into Shuilian Cave for the grand Huaguo banquet.

"Ao Yun's suggestion is good, letting the deities appreciate the sights of the seventy-three cities, then the holy city, tour Shuilian Cave, and attend the grand banquet at Huaguo Mountain," Sun Wukong affirmed Ao Yun's idea and encouraged her to proceed confidently.

And for himself, he wanted this year's Huaguo grand banquet to differ from that in the simulator.

In the simulator, he would serve Jadescent Nectar bestowed by the Jade Emperor along with unique delicacies from the seventy-four cities of Huaguo Mountain and various spirit fruits from the mountain.

Though the delicacies of the seventy-four cities were excellent, and the immortals enjoyed them thoroughly,

they simply couldn't compare to unique immortal fruits like peaches and ginseng fruit, which were deemed not classy enough.

Therefore, he also wished to cultivate a particular spirit root indigenous to Huaguo Mountain.

Upon reaching the center of Shuilian Cave, there lay a clear pond, still as a mirror, solid as jade, beneath which lay bluish-green aquatic plants emitting a soft luminescence, creating a breathtaking view.

With a wave of his hand, a six-thousand-year ripe peach appeared in Sun Wukong's hand.

This peach, a gift from Nezha, was bright red and dazzling.

With a thought, the Bodhi leaf from inside Sun Wukong trembled slightly, fell from his heart, transformed from the abstract to the concrete, and settled on top of the peach.

In an instant, the peach pulp contracted and disappeared, leaving behind a brown peach pit resembling jade, which the Bodhi red-dust leaf wrapped around, forming a bud-shaped crimson and green gemstone.

Sun Wukong blew a breath of immortal energy, and the crimson-green gem flew from his hand and landed at the center of the pond.

Crack!

A subtle cracking sound was heard as the base of the gem shattered, a main root extending, plunging into the water surface and embedding itself in the foundation, then smaller roots spread out like serpents, taking over the entire clear pond.

A tender bud burst forth from the crimson-green gem, absorbing the spiritual energy within the cave and the mana provided by Sun Wukong, vigorously growing.

In just a quarter of an hour, it grew from the size of a thumb to a gigantic tree a hundred feet tall.

The peach blossoms vied with each other for beauty.

Who could resist witnessing the enchanting bloom of these seductive peach flowers?

The sudden growth of a nearly ceiling-reaching hundred-foot peach tree within Shuilian Cave naturally alarmed all the spirits living there; Ao Yun was the first to arrive.

"Brother, what is this?"

"The peach tree I planted," Sun Wukong said. "For use at June's Huaguo Meeting."

As soon as the voice fell, tender jade-like leaves emerged amongst the peach blossoms, casting a radiant green light, and peaches began to appear, red as rubies and bright as fire.

They ripened in an instant.

Upon counting, there were three thousand mature peaches, and countless more jade-green unripe peaches.

"What kind of peaches are these?"

Ao Yun, smelling the strange fragrance from the three thousand ripe peaches, felt dizzy as if drunk, yet his consciousness was clearer than ever.

"These are Mortal Dust Peaches, the fruits of mortal dust. Eating them does not prolong life, increase mana, or resurrect the dead."

Sun Wukong, with sparkling eyes and a broad smile, said, "But these fruits can enable divine beings to comprehend the subtleties and true meaning of mortal life, enhancing their enlightenment. In just a moment, one can perceive all the nuances of human existence, saving countless years of worldly experience."

Ao Yun, astonished, covered her lips: "A single Mortal Dust Peach allows one to perceive human conditions. Elder brother, what nurtures these fruits? Spiritual water? Immortal soil?"

"Neither."

Sun Wukong placed one hand behind his back and said lightly, "What they require is the qi of human mortal dust. As long as the earthly realm remains indestructible and myriad spirits do not perish, they can provide nourishment."

While speaking, Sun Wukong exhaled another breath of spiritual energy which gathered the peach petals floating on the pool's surface, transforming them into soil and stone that accumulated at the base of the Mortal Dust Peach Tree.

Then, Sun Wukong scattered a handful of grass seeds.

Immediately, the soil and stones beneath the peach tree formed a small green slope. This соntеnt оriginаtеs frоm М1VLЕМРYR, Мy Virtuаl Librаry Еmpirе.

From a distance, within the cave lay a clear pool, in the pool a small island, and on the island grew a jade-leaved Mortal Dust Peach Tree, with three thousand peach fruits the size of human heads hanging from its branches.

Exquisite, mystical.

At that moment, Yuyan and Iron Fan, hearing the conversation, hurried over and could not help but gulp at the sight of the plump Red Jade Peaches.

"Great King, what kind of peaches are these?"

Yuyan wiped the drool from her mouth, unable to take her eyes off the Mortal Dust Peaches, longing to try one.

"Mortal Dust Peach," Sun Wukong said. "However, these are reserved for the Huaguo Meeting in June; stop thinking about sneaking a taste."

Yuyan's face turned red as she retorted, "Great King, am I that kind of person? How could I steal? You underestimate me."

Having said that, she leaped onto a cloud and flew towards the Mortal Dust Peach Tree.

She could simply pick one right before the Great King!

However, as soon as Yuyan approached, she felt her mana subside within her, and the clouds beneath her feet dissipated.

"Ah!"

With a "splash," she fell into the clear pool.

"Elder brother, what's happening?" Ao Yun asked curiously, sensing that Wukong had not cast a spell.

"These Mortal Dust Peaches can only be picked by those who are of mortal dust," Sun Wukong explained with a laugh, looking at Yuyan splashing in the pool.

"People of mortal dust? Mortals?"

Ao Yun wore a puzzled expression.

Mortals can pick these peaches, but not gods?

Indeed, that's quite peculiar.

"Yes, those of mortal dust," Sun Wukong corrected. "Those who have comprehended mortal dust can also pick them. Unlike Yuyan, who is lively and naive and has yet to be stained by worldly experiences and knows nothing of the varied states of life, even getting close is impossible for her."

Ao Yun clicked her tongue in disbelief, not expecting the Mortal Dust Peaches to have such properties.

However, she should be able to pick one.

As the Second King of Huaguo Mountain, her duty was only to manage everything there, naturally comprehending the myriad states of the mountain's spirits.

With this thought, she rose on a cloud and went straight to the Mortal Dust Peach Tree. Her mana felt more vibrant instead of subsiding.

If she were to transform into her heavenly dragon form, she could probably stretch a thousand meters in length.

Picking a Mortal Dust Peach, feeling the smoothness in her hands, Ao Yun resisted the urge to bite into it and returned to the edge of the pool, holding the peach and saying to Sun Wukong, "Forgive me, elder brother. I couldn't help myself and picked one."

"No matter, look," Sun Wukong pointed to the Mortal Dust Peach Tree, urging Ao Yun to count them again.

"Three, six, nine..."

"Three hundred thirty-three, three hundred thirty-six, three hundred thirty-nine..."

"Six hundred..."

"Nine hundred..."

"One thousand two hundred..."

Ao Yun counted and in the end said, "Two thousand nine hundred ninety-one, two thousand nine hundred ninety-four, two thousand nine hundred ninety-seven, two thousand nine hundred ninety-eight, two thousand nine hundred ninety-nine..."

"Three thousand!"

Despite her having picked one, there were still three thousand mature Mortal Dust Peaches!

How could this be?

Ao Yun turned to Sun Wukong, then looked at the Red Jade Peach in her hand, speculating, "Could it be that this peach is an illusion created by you, elder brother?"

Sun Wukong smiled and said, "Are you puzzled?"

Ao Yun nodded. "Elder brother, could you clear my confusion? Clearly, I picked one. Why are there still three thousand mature peaches? Could it be that some small peach instantly grew to replace it?"
