Journey to the West: Life Simulation of Sun Wukong

Chapter 39 Taibaijinxing

Sun Wukong ordered the demons to clean up the area and walked alone toward Shuilian Cave.

Behind him, the open space cleared up in an instant, revealing its original appearance, an uninhabited green meadow.

Although this wedding feast was witnessed by heaven and earth, the Dao, and Buddha, as well as by himself, it was still better for the myriad beings of Huaguo Mountain not to know too much about it.

Upon returning to Shuilian Cave, Sun Wukong headed to the library and happened to meet the dragon girl who was reading.

Ao Yun saw Sun Wukong, and with a smile on her face, she walked over and said joyfully, "Great Saint, has everything been taken care of?"

Sun Wukong chuckled and said, "That Jiao Demon has a lustful nature, what do you think?"

Ao Yun covered her mouth and said, "I wonder how wild that Jiao Demon will be when he wakes up tomorrow and realizes he's been duped? He'll surely be so angry that smoke comes out of his seven orifices."

After all, it was the Jiao Demon King who wanted to marry into the clan.

But it was she!

Too bad, she wasn't the "number one beauty" of Huaguo Mountain, and it was explicitly the "number one beauty" that the Jiao Demon had named, so Huaguo Mountain had no choice but to go along with his wishes.

After some light conversation, Sun Wukong asked about serious matters, "How is the issuance of Eternal Coins and Heavenly Dao Coins going?"

Ao Yun's expression became serious, and she said earnestly, "Among the Eternal Coins, thirty million black-patterned coins have been issued, and ten million red-patterned coins; as for silver-patterned coins, there are only one million, and even fewer gold-patterned coins, just half a million."

"For now, the Eternal Coins and Heavenly Dao Coins are mainly circulated in Huaguo Mountain and Ao Lai, and most people still use gold, silver, and copper coins."

"To completely replace them with Eternal Coins and gold-patterned coins will take quite some time."

To Ao Yun's view, Heavenly Dao Coins and Eternal Coins are more suitable for circulation among demons, cultivators, and gods who need to practice. For mortals, using this kind of currency is fine within the boundaries of Huaguo Mountain and Ao Lai, but beyond those areas, these currencies can only become an excuse for being guilty of possessing treasures.

However, should these currencies become commonplace, there would be no such danger, but then the human race would become more powerful.

After all, the most abundant species in this world are not various mountain spirits and wild monsters, nor gods and demons, nor are they divine beings of Dao and Buddha, but humans.

They are naturally intelligent and quite xenophobic.

The humans of the Eastern Victory Divine Continent are better, as they often see spirits of mountains and forests, and thanks to the management of Huaguo Mountain, they are somewhat tolerant of various spirits.

As for the humans of the Nanshan Continent...

That place is vast with a large population. Although there are demons, the Heavenly Court has placed many deities there to guard different areas. Most demons are insignificant and do not dare to cause trouble there.

Even now, with many nations at war, it's only lesser demons that seize the opportunity to stir up trouble. Once the kingdom unifies, all of those demons will be wiped out.

Therefore, most people of the Nanshan Continent fear and dread those non-human beings capable of human speech.

Even if some can let go of their prejudices, it is still fraught with difficulties.

While Huaguo Mountain's humans and demons coexist, those native to the Eastern Victory Divine Continent live more harmoniously with demons, while those from the Nanshan Continent no longer object to demons, they still feel some fear upon seeing them. Only the courageous among scholars, Taoists, monks, rangers, and those from the Hundred Schools of Thought are not afraid.

To this, Sun Wukong had no good solution but to use that foolish method, that is, time will reveal a person's heart.

Over time, they will naturally be able to live together harmoniously.

"There is no need to worry about this. I believe that one day, all intelligent and wise beings will be able to understand each other, recognize each other, and empathize with each other," said Sun Wukong confidently.

A light of wisdom flashed in Sun Wukong's eyes!

In his first simulation, Buddha's goal in spreading the scriptures was to persuade people to be good, but is simple goodness enough?

It's not enough!

Only when all beings respect one another can true goodness be achieved!

And what are all beings?

Aside from the human race, there's also the flora and fauna, birds, insects, fish, and other beings that have awakened their intelligence.

Plants grow in harmony with heaven and earth, drawing upon the essence to live; deer, sheep, and cattle feed on these plants; tigers and wolves eat these animals to survive, and when they die, their bodies return to heaven and earth, nourishing the plants.

This is the natural law of heaven and earth.

The beings that have awakened their intelligence escape this natural law. They possess a True Spirit, can think, and resist their bodily instincts, not remaining as beings without sentiment or ethics.

"Your aspirations are noble, brother!"

Ao Yun's eyes shone with admiration, "I wonder if I will have the destiny to accompany you always, and together witness the day when all beings freely contend under the frosty heavens."

"There will be such a day," Sun Wukong said as he picked up a book which contained records about various mountain spirits and wild beasts, essentially an introduction to the extraordinary beings of the Three Realms, "Because, I am Sun Wukong!"

"Yes!"

Ao Yun looked at her brother flipping through the book, her eyes dreamy, nodding vigorously as if she were bewitched...

...

"Have you found out everything clearly? What exactly is Huaguo Mountain like?" the Jade Emperor asked in a deep voice.

"Your Majesty, Huaguo Mountain has a beautiful Monkey King, who is the same stone monkey that startled us three hundred and thirty-one years ago," reported Thousand-Mile Eye with his large eyes as big as copper bells.

"That Monkey King, I do not know where he learned his skills, but I could not see clearly, I only sensed that his entire body emanated spiritual light. He harmoniously blended chaos with order. Moreover, he has subdued the seventy-two Demon Kings of the caves and built cities in Huaguo Mountain."

"But he has not declared himself king or ruled as a tyrant. Instead, he leads by virtue, educating all demons, teaching them to recognize human characters, learn human etiquette, and interact with neighboring small countries."

"As of now, the island is inhabited by both humans and demons, living in harmony, the very atmosphere on the peak has turned into a mist of auspicious colors, signifying the presence of a True Immortal with virtue and benevolence."

Upon hearing this, the Jade Emperor rose from his seat, surprised and said, "A stone monkey born of nature? It turns out to be that same monkey who flaunted his Divine Skills."

At that time, this monkey had just been born, possessed of strange wonders, he did not find it extraordinary; he had not imagined that in just over three hundred years, this monkey would have such an experience.

Subduing the Demon King, building cities, educating thousands of demons.

For the first two, he still felt that this monkey might have learned some abilities, was arrogantly proud, wanted to proclaim himself a sage and ancestor, and make a name for himself.

Yet, the latter made him particularly gratified.

"How many beings currently inhabit Huaguo Mountain?" asked the Jade Emperor.

"Combining the sentient spirits of the mountains and wilds with those of the human race, the total comes to approximately one million," reported the Thousand Mile Eye with a bow.

"Such a large population is comparable to a great nation of the mortal world. This monkey has indeed made a significant contribution to their education," the Jade Emperor mused before suddenly turning to Shun Feng Er, "Shun Feng Er, why are you silent?"

Shun Feng Er said, "Please forgive me, Your Majesty. I have not heard a single thing about Huaguo Mountain. There seems to be a Formation that hampers my Divine Skills."

"Oh?"

The Jade Emperor was surprised.

Shun Feng Er, true to his name, possessed Divine Skills to eavesdrop on conversations carried by the wind. He could hear all sounds of the Three Realms, yet he couldn't perceive any noise from Huaguo Mountain?

It seems that the Monkey King's mastery of formations was on par with that of the Heavenly Court.

"Taibaijinxing!" the Jade Emperor called out to a kindly-looking old man with white hair.

"Your servant is present."

Taibaijinxing stepped forward, bowing to receive his orders.

"Wenqu Xingjun."

The Jade Emperor then summoned Wenqu Xingjun to draft a decree and instructed Taibaijinxing to take the decree, crafted with Spells by Wenqu Xingjun, to descend to the lower world and invite the Monkey King to ascend to Heaven to receive his imperial rewards.

Taibaijinxing received the decree from Wenqu Xingjun, bowed to the Jade Emperor once more, and respectfully withdrew from the Lingxiao Palace. He walked out of the Tongming Palace with great dignity before mounting a cloud and heading downwards...

...

In the lower world, it was already the next day.

With the first rays of the sun rising, the Yurong King, the Peng Demon King, the Lion Camel King, and the Peng Demon King came to bid farewell to Sun Wukong, planning to return to the Northern Jambu Continent.

Since the Jiao Demon King had just gotten married, it wasn't proper for them to linger around and make a fuss, right?

After all, they also had their own affairs to attend to back in the Northern Jambu Continent. How could they afford to waste time here?

Sun Wukong agreed to their departure and then summoned Sun Beng to ask, "How is the Jiao Demon King now?"

Sun Beng replied, "He has not woken up yet."

Considering the vast Divine Skills and boundless Mana of the Jiao Demon King, his delayed awakening suggested that the fox enchantress had quite a set of skills to deal with such a ferocious character.

"Is that so?"

Sun Wukong chuckled lightly, "Then don't disturb him, let him wake naturally."

"Yes!"

Sun Beng left.

"Great King, you sure are something," Yuyan said with a giggle, covering her mouth, "That Jiao Demon probably deeply regrets coming to Huaguo Mountain now."

For the Jiao Demon, Huaguo Mountain was not a land of benevolence but a den of demons!

"That Jiao Demon has wrought endless slaughter. Had it not been for the fact that he and those four Demon Kings came to visit me, and that their manners were quite thoughtful, without causing trouble in Huaguo Mountain, I would have subdued them long ago with little fuss," Sun Wukong explained to Yuyan.

"Great King, if you had taken action, no one would have said anything," Yuyan queried, somewhat puzzled.

"The rules I've set, I must abide by myself; leading by example is what makes a qualified king," Sun Wukong said with a more serious tone, "If the rules I made served only myself, or if I were above them, then what use would they have for me?"

"It's not a lasting way."

Yuyan nodded, "I don't quite understand. Aren't you, Great King, by your very power, above the rules?"

"If you don't understand, then don't nod along."

Sun Wukong raised his hand and knocked on Yuyan's head, admonishing, "There's always someone stronger, and the strong will always clash. Ruling by force alone cannot last because once others gain power, they will surely turn against you, it's survival of the fittest, akin to beasts; ruling by virtue alone also cannot last, for if you only talk a good game, a slap can easily disperse it all."

"Only when strength and virtue are balanced can the true path emerge."

"Do you understand now?"

Yuyan seemed to understand but not fully, for she had heard most of it and thought both strength and reasoning were useful, but still did not grasp the measure of it.

Sun Wukong shook his head slightly but did not really mind. As long as she remembered it for now, that would be enough; she would have plenty of opportunities to learn in the days ahead by his side.

"Report—"

Just then, Sun Ma ran in to deliver a document to Sun Wukong, filled with joy, "Great King, an old Angel has arrived outside with a scroll on his back. Surely Heaven has taken note of your educational achievements and has come to invite you to ascend and serve in an official capacity."
