Journey to the West: Life Simulation of Sun Wukong

Chapter 38: Heaven and Earth as Witnesses

In the guild hall.

The Lion Camel King spoke in a mocking tone, "Brother Jiao Mo truly has genuine character. We are far from comparable, it truly broadens one's horizons."

Jiao Mo chuckled dismissively and joked, "Don't be envious, we are Demon Kings after all. We will surely not mistreat you in the future."

The Lion Camel King snorted coldly and said nothing more.

Envious?

With over a hundred lionesses at home, he could hardly favor them all; how could he be envious?

After some thought, the Mi Monkey King said, "Since we entered the palace, the Monkey King and his ministers have looked down upon us. It seems they despise us. Could there be some deceit involved?"

Jiao Mo remained indifferent and said, "The folks at Huaguo Mountain worship heaven and earth and maintain good order, valuing the virtue of 'morality.' Since he has already accepted our gifts, and we have followed the rules, he can't control us."

The Yurong King glanced at the Mi Monkey King, then shook his head at Jiao Mo, "The human kingdoms are the most hypocritical. With trumped-up charges, what trouble would they not fabricate? Huaguo Mountain is no different from human realms. We still need to be cautious to avoid trouble."

"If that's the case, let's sit here and practice Qi cultivation, rather than wandering outside."

Jiao Mo found Yurong King's point quite reasonable and hence made this suggestion.

The other four demons had no objections.

But just as they began to meditate, aligning their breath, and practicing their inhalation and exhalation, they felt the spiritual energy around them surge. Merely an instant had passed, and it was already equivalent to a normal day's worth of cultivation.

"This Huaguo Mountain, the spiritual energy is so abundant!" exclaimed Jiao Mo as he opened his eyes in astonishment.

A hint of greed flashed in the Lion Camel King's eyes, "If the five of us join forces, could we take over Huaguo Mountain?"

The Peng Demon King shook his head and said, "In the past, the demon known for his immense strength, today he grazes cows at Shuilian Cave. Our divine skills and methods are hardly any different from Bull Demon King's, in a battle, it wouldn't be settled for months."

"But we don't know how that Monkey King subdued Bull Demon King. No news of it has reached us."

"There's only one possibility."

"That is, both sides fought and settled the outcome quite promptly, and Bull Demon King was utterly defeated. That's why he was brought back here, to serve as a mount."

Yurong King added, "The five of us joining forces, betting our lives, might be able to fight, but one on one, none of us match him. Better not harbor such thoughts."

The Lion Camel King smacked his lips; he was just speaking rhetorically after all.

Although he hadn't witnessed the Monkey King's divine skills firsthand, anyone capable of subduing so many ordinary Demon Kings could not be ordinary, not to mention possessing The Great Divine Power of Heaven and Earth.

As the legend goes, a body that towers kilometers high, head touching the thirty-three heavens, feet standing on the eighteenth hells!

In terms of body size among today's demon kings in the three realms, only the original form of the Bull Demon King was the largest, followed by Jiao Mo's dragon form; though Jiao Mo's body was longer, it was just skinnier in comparison.

If it really came down to a real fight, they certainly couldn't match the Monkey King.

A night passed without event.

At dawn, the breeze swept across the land, and the red sun rose from the east.

The seventy-two Demon Kings, the Eternal Fox King, Fengyun, and others, were all making preparations for the celebration of Jiao Mo's marriage to the foremost beauty of Huaguo Mountain on the open ground in front of Shuilian Cave.

Though it was a day of celebration, the open space was sparsely populated.

Always read from the source: M|V|LE4MPYR.

As Sun Wukong had not informed all creatures of Huaguo Mountain, only Sun Wukong and other high-ranking individuals were privy to Jiao Mo's marriage entering the clan.

The other creatures only knew of the five formidable Demon Kings from the Northern Jambu Continent desiring to ingratiate themselves with Huaguo Mountain...

The five Demon Kings, noticing the area was set with tables, drinks, and fruits but lacking people, didn't much care, assuming Sun Wukong had sent away irrelevant people.

Jiao Mo, dressed in a long robe of red and black, wearing a red ceremonial hat, radiated joy as he mingled with the various Demon Kings of Huaguo Mountain, and the atmosphere was brimming with merriment.

The demons of Huaguo Mountain also disclosed some relatively insignificant matters to Jiao Mo and the others.

For instance, Eternal Coins, Heavenly Dao Coins.

The Mi Monkey King obtained a striped coin from a Tiger King. Holding it in his hand, he caressed it delicately, amazed at the spiritual energy it contained.

"Spiritual energy, formless and shadowless, moves according to the Dao, found either in rare flowers and fruits or attached to precious jewels and treasures. To infuse it into currency like this is nothing short of miraculous!"

"That Monkey King is truly greatly talented!"

"An artifact refiner!"

Artifact refining and alchemy have always been twin arts.

In the three realms, the most respected and famous ancestor of alchemy and artifact refining is Taishang Laojun, whose pills and artifacts are both exquisite.

And this Monkey King is also capable of creating such finely crafted objects.

Truly remarkable.

He was now curious about who could have taught this perfect Monkey King—where did he come from, and what kind of person was able to instruct such an adept pupil?

"The bride has arrived!"

At that moment, a woman, veiled with a red headscarf, dressed in a red gown with an indistinct face, was led over by the Fox King.

Jiao Mo's eyes widened, "This figure, absolutely stunning."

The bride, in her red gown, was unable to hide her graceful curves which left Jiao Mo swallowing his saliva several times. He mentally repeated to himself, "Tonight holds opportunities," until he gradually calmed down.

"At the hall earlier, in her long skirt, one could not make out her figure, but clothed in this big red gown, her charm is well accentuated," commented the Lion Camel King, clicking his tongue in wonder. "Such a tempting body, I'd snatch it away and revel night after night."

"The Lion Camel King is right." The Peng Demon King snapped his beak, "Only Huaguo Mountain has so many rules, requiring even the worship of heaven and earth. If we encountered her, we'd directly snatch her back to our lair."

As the two sang in tune, the Huaguo Mountain demons around them gradually moved further away.

Though they had been just as vulgar more than three years ago,

they were now enlightened demons; how could they keep company with such barbaric Demon Kings?

Ashamed to associate with such a rude and wild demon!

"In Huaguo Mountain, the matter of marrying requires the heaven and earth as witnesses!"

Sun Wukong, acting as the officiant, personally spoke, "Please step forward, Peng Demon King!"

The ceremony began.

The Peng Demon King stepped forward to the bride's side, standing side by side, each holding an end of a red scarf, with a large red embroidered ball tied in the middle of the scarf.

"First bow to heaven and earth!"

The Peng Demon King and the bride knelt facing a prepared table, on which was placed an incense burner, behind which hung a blue and black cloth inscribed with the words "Heaven and Earth."

Under their kowtowing, a breath went straight up to the heavens.

This detail was clearly seen by Sun Wukong, as it meant that heaven and earth were moved, thus bearing witness.

At the same time at the heavenly court, the Jade Emperor was conducting his daily court meeting, reviewing various affairs, when he suddenly felt someone on the lower realm kneeling and praying to heaven.

"Huh?"

The Jade Emperor paused, put down the document in his hand, and observed through his senses, his face breaking into a smile.

"Peng Demon King, Fox Seductress... quite interesting."

"But that Huaguo Mountain, why does it look familiar?"

He recalled more than three hundred years ago, a stone monkey emerged from a crack in Huaguo Mountain. The Jade Emperor had summoned Thousand-Mile Eyes and Following-Wind Ears to go and listen, to investigate the details.

"Second bow to the Daoist and Buddhist!"

Sun Wukong had the table and backdrop of heaven and earth removed, and then placed images of the Daoist ancestors and Buddhist paintings.

The Peng Demon King was taken aback.

Did marrying also require praying to Daoism and Buddhism?

But he didn't give it much thought.

Being self-taught, he knew only a little about Daoism and Buddhism, which he had heard in his youth at the Northern Sea Dragon Palace, and he didn't care much. So, he bowed again with the bride.

In Sun Wukong's eyes, two more breaths soared up, one toward the east and one toward the west—

Inside the Doushuai Temple, the ancient figure suddenly widened his eyes and said with a chuckle and scold, "That monkey, officiating a marriage, could have just bowed to heaven and earth. Why trouble this old man to witness this scene?"

He got up and walked out of the alchemy room.

A disciple asked, "Master, where are you going? The furnace of Nine-turn Elixir is about to be done. If you're not here, we can only watch the fire, I'm afraid it might end up underdone."

The ancient figure replied, "Then let it be underdone. We'll just refine another batch later. I need to go rinse my eyes."

The disciple tilted his head, "???"

At the Spirit Mountain in the west.

The Buddha was lecturing the assembly of Buddhas, speaking on a brilliant point, when he suddenly stopped.

The assembly of Buddhas puzzled, the Bodhisattvas astonished, the Arhats silent.

Thereafter, the Buddha made a gesture of twisting a flower, smiled slightly, and myriads of Buddhist teachings were born, condensing into a pineapple flower that floated from his fingertips down onto the head of a monk with fair features.

Feeling the extra pineapple flower on his head, the monk opened his eyes and took it down.

"Golden Cicada, have you realized anything?" the Buddha's voice arose from the depths, landing in the hearts of all the saints.

"Not yet."

Golden Cicada lowered his head.

He had been lost in his own fantasies, having not listened to the Buddha's teachings.

Because the sutra the Buddha spoke, he had heard it countless times already, knew it by heart.

The Buddha said, "Golden Cicada, for neglecting the Buddhist teachings, write the sutras as your punishment and go to the Nanshan Continent to spread the teachings. Are you willing to accept this?"

Golden Cicada replied, "Disciple is willing to accept the punishment."

In the midst of Huaguo Mountain, Sun Wukong called out again, "Third bow to Wukong!"

Heaven and earth had been bowed to!

The Daoist and Buddhist had been bowed to!

Thus, the last to be bowed to was Sun Wukong himself!

The Peng Demon King was somewhat reluctant, feeling that the Monkey King was taking advantage of him, but seeing the bride kneel, he also knelt down.

"Good!"

As the couple, witnessed by heaven, earth, Daoist, Buddhist, and Sun Wukong himself, rose, Sun Wukong cheered, directing the bride to the wedding chamber he had prepared for her to rest, while he kept the Peng Demon King and other demon kings drinking merrily with the demons of Huaguo Mountain.

After three rounds of drinks, the demon kings mingled carelessly, completely drunk.

All five great demon kings were lured by the wine of Huaguo Mountain, deeply intoxicated, along with the rest of the demons staggering around.

Sun Wukong, seeing that the time was ripe, told the lesser demons, "Escort the Peng Demon King back to his room, don't let him miss out on his wedding night!"

The lesser demons instantly helped the drunken Peng Demon King up and headed towards the bridal chamber.

The other four great demon kings, also in a deep stupor, were hoisted by Sun Wukong's orders and taken to rest inside the guesthouse.

The assembled demons of Huaguo Mountain also took out a white pill from their waists and placed it in their mouths, immediately emitting steam from their bodies, creating a feeling of being enveloped in clouds and mist.

This pill, named Sobering Elixir, could eliminate the effects of alcohol and clear the Primordial Spirit...
