Journey to the West: Life Simulation of Sun Wukong

Chapter 26: The Heavenly Dao is Eternal

Iron Fan?

Rakshasa's expression darkened.

Her fan had already been given to him by her master, and they still called her Iron Fan?

Wasn't this mockery?

Truly detestable!

"If you perform well in the future, I will return the banana fan to you," Sun Wukong said with a smile.

"Really?"

Iron Fan's eyes brightened.

"Really."

Sun Wukong bent down and touched the reluctant Iron Fan. "That big white bull, you know about it, right? From now on, it's your responsibility to feed it."

"No problem," Iron Fan responded energetically.

After Iron Fan left, Yuyan followed behind Sun Wukong, who then found Ao Yun and learned about the recent events at Huaguo Mountain from her.

The lords of the seventy-two caves were relatively well-behaved, with most starting to accept the order of Huaguo Mountain from the bottom of their hearts, though a few still harbored other intentions.

But they were not to be feared.

"My King, there is something I would like to discuss with you," Ao Yun began.

"What is it?" Sun Wukong asked.

"My father wishes to engage in trade with Huaguo Mountain," Ao Yun said. "This is actually a good thing. Within the Four Seas, wealth abounds, but what's lacking are the bustling goods of the human world. The Heavenly Dao decrees that gods should not have too much contact with humans, but in Huaguo Mountain, with its multitude of demons, this concern does not exist."

After pondering for a moment, Sun Wukong recalled that the last simulation at the age of three hundred thirty-four was when Huaguo Mountain and the Dragon Palace of the Eastern Sea formally established trade, which indeed benefitted Huaguo Mountain's development.

"Agreed, how long will it take?" Sun Wukong nodded, asking.

"Given the current scale of Huaguo Mountain, to establish a complete trade system with the Dragon Palace will take about three to four years, especially since we are still using currency such as gold, silver, and copper," Ao Yun replied.

The common currency in the region was precious metals like gold, silver, and copper.

Whether humans, demons, or immortals, all used these metals.

For humans and ordinary demons, gold and silver were money that could be used to purchase various goods, while for immortals and knowledgeable Demon Kings, these metals could refine the essences of Taiyin and Taiyang, aiding in the practice of the Alchemy Dao, and thus they had value.

To the immortals and gods of the heavenly court, however, gold and silver were not very important, because most officials in the heavenly court did not practice the Alchemy Dao but nourished themselves with merits and incense offerings.

Merits and incense offerings, specially condensed by heavenly departments, would coalesce into golden flowers, which were the sustenance closest to the Dao and could be absorbed without effect, making them an excellent choice for enhancing mana.

If Huaguo Mountain wanted to develop and establish its own nation, it was imperative to build its own currency system.

However, in the previous simulation, Sun Wukong had only listened to Ao Yun's reports behind the scenes and had not been involved directly; he had only dealt with the Demon Kings coveting Huaguo Mountain, so he was unclear on the specifics.

This time, however, he intended to be directly involved.

"Ao Yun, gather the gold and silver for me: 6,300 jin of gold, 3,600 jin of silver, 5,400 jin of copper, and 4,500 jin of iron," Sun Wukong instructed. "Since Huaguo Mountain is isolated from the world, it must develop its own trade currency, which will replace the circulation of gold and silver in Huaguo Mountain." "My King wishes to establish our own currency system?"

Ao Yun's eyes shone brightly. Having traveled among humans and combined with the many books in Huaguo Mountain, she generally understood.

In Nanshan Continent, numerous nations stood side by side, each with its own currency, though this impeded unification, each had its own characteristics.

Now, the King also intended to establish a unique currency system for Huaguo Mountain, crafting its own characteristics, thereby freeing it from others' constraints.

However, promoting a brand-new currency within Huaguo Mountain was easy, for among the numerous demons there, the Demon King was the most powerful, and his word was law.

Even though the Demon King taught thousands of demons, the idea of respecting strength still lingered in the minds of the demons of Huaguo Mountain.

Yet it was uncertain whether people outside, from Ao Lai or even from the Nanshan Continent, would accept Huaguo Mountain's currency.

If this currency could only circulate within Huaguo Mountain, its significance would not be great; it would be better to use the universally accepted gold and silver.

Because of this, she was somewhat worried.

"Yes," Sun Wukong nodded, "Prepare the materials for me, I have my own methods."

"Yes!"

Ao Yun bowed slightly and went to prepare the gold, silver, copper, and iron as Sun Wukong had instructed.

As for the shape of the currency and issues of future circulation, Sun Wukong naturally had ideas.

Once Ao Yun had prepared all the materials, Sun Wukong began crafting, using the Samadhi Fire to extract the essence of the gold, silver, copper, and iron.

Four liquid masses, controlled by Sun Wukong, were pulled into thoughts finer than hair strands, intermingling, weaving, and finally transforming into a treasure basin that was gold on the outside, silver on the inside, and interlaced with red and black in the middle.

This treasure basin had four feet, a round and smooth brim, and was both heavy and dazzling.

It shone brightly, lively and lustrous.

Once the crafting was completed, Sun Wukong dripped a drop of his own essence blood into it.

Instantly, the treasure basin blazed with light, as if it had gained sentience, and a round ball that was gold, silver, red, and black and about the size of a fist appeared within, spinning round and round inside the basin.

The spiritual energy of the heavens gathered within it as Sun Wukong, who stood by watching, commanded Ao Yun to throw in more of the gold, silver, copper, and iron.

Ao Yun had prepared a large amount of these metals and placed them into the treasure basin.

The rim of the basin devoured all that Ao Yun presented, whether much gold and silver or plenty of copper and iron, swallowing it up under the four-colored sphere and turning it into liquid.

Subsequently, the four distinct liquids separated under the spin of the four-colored sphere, one gold, one silver, one copper, one iron, fusing together into a glistening, crystal-like round currency, three inches in size, shining brilliantly.

One side bore the sun, moon, and stars with the words "Heavenly Dao," and the other side, mountains and rivers with the words "Eternal."

This was the Heavenly Dao bestowing its name on the creation!

Ao Yun couldn't believe it, never having imagined that the Demon King could refine a treasure so favored by the Heavenly Dao.

And this Heavenly Dao coin, merely by its appearance, seemed like crystal, yet resembled agate, adorned with golden, silver, red, and black streaks that continuously flowed, echoing the endless cycle and perpetual renewal of the Heavenly Dao.

This coin was also a supreme treasure!

Sun Wukong held the Eternal Heavenly Dao currency in his hands, delicately playing with it, comprehending the profound principles contained within, and placed it atop the four-colored sphere inside the treasure basin.

Instantly, the four-colored sphere rotated clockwise, while the Eternal Heavenly Dao coin turned counterclockwise; their opposing movements generated a continuous cycle.

"Demon King, although this treasure basin and Eternal Heavenly Dao coin are supreme treasures, there is only one coin. How will it circulate?" Ao Yun was somewhat worried, arguing that if one coin required so much material, it simply could not circulate in the world.

"Do you still have any of the gold, silver, copper, and iron?" asked Sun Wukong.

"In my storage belt, there are still three thousand pounds of iron, five thousand pounds of copper, thirty thousand pounds of silver, and a hundred thousand pounds of gold," reported Ao Yun, who had prepared the most of the gold and silver materials.

"Take three thousand pounds of iron and put it into the treasure basin."

Ao Yun took out all the iron and cast it into the treasure basin, where in an instant, the spiritual energy of the heavens flowed, melting the iron into a liquid state. The four-colored sphere and the Eternal Heavenly Dao coin rotated in opposite directions, stirring the molten iron, melding it with spiritual energy and forging coin after coin of Eternal Heavenly Dao currency.

By the time the three thousand pounds of iron was used up, a mountain of currency had piled up nearby.

Upon inspection, there were roughly thirty million coins, each crystal-clear and resembling precious jewels.

Yet, compared to the one inside the treasure basin, these coins were significantly duller in color and each bore only a single black streak, flowing through their crystalline forms, resembling a swimming dragon.
