Chapter 44: Chapter - 44
Jordan's POV –
The crisp evening air of Sandgem Town buzzed with excitement as Jordan Smith, the newly crowned hero of Sinnoh, stepped off the small coastal road that led into his hometown. The streets, usually quiet at this hour, were alive with celebration. Children ran through the cobblestone alleys waving makeshift banners with hastily scribbled messages of congratulations, while neighbors crowded their porches, clapping and cheering.
For Jordan, it was a surreal moment. The quaint town where he had spent his childhood—playing on the beach, exploring the nearby woods, and dreaming of becoming a trainer—had transformed into a bustling hub of pride and admiration.
As he approached his home, a modest but welcoming house at the edge of town, the front door burst open. His mother, Lily Smith, rushed out to meet him, tears of joy streaming down her face.
A Family Reunion Full of Emotion
"Jordan!" Lily cried, her voice trembling with pride. She ran down the short path from the door, her arms wide open. She was still in her lab coat, a badge of her role as Professor Rowan's trusted research assistant, but tonight, all of that was secondary. "My boy, my champion!"
Jordan barely had time to brace himself before Lily enveloped him in a fierce hug. "Mom, you're crushing me," he chuckled, though he didn't try to pull away.
"Let her," came a deep voice from the porch. Jordan looked up to see his father, James Smith, standing with his arms crossed, a rare smile softening his stern features. As the commander of the Sinnoh Rangers, James was known for his unshakable demeanor, but tonight, pride shone in his eyes. "She's earned this moment. We both have."
"Dad," Jordan said, pulling away from his mother to meet his father's gaze. James stepped forward and placed a firm hand on Jordan's shoulder.
"You've made history, son," James said, his voice steady. "And you did it with integrity and grit. The Sinnoh Rangers are proud to call you one of our own."
Professor Rowan, who had been standing quietly on the porch with a warm smile, finally stepped forward. "Well, well, Jordan. I always knew there was something special about you. But even I couldn't have predicted this. Beating Cynthia—remarkable! You've given Sinnoh something to celebrate."
Inside the Smith home, the atmosphere was jubilant. The living room was adorned with streamers and balloons, hastily hung by nneighborswho had been preparing all day. The dining table overflowed with food: hearty casseroles, steaming pots of stew, platters of freshly baked bread, and, of course, bowls of Poke Puffs and berries for Jordan's Pokémon.
Jordan's childhood friends had gathered, eager to celebrate his monumental achievement. As they peppered him with questions about his battles, Jordan deflected. "Let's eat first," he said with a grin. "I'm starving!"
The meal was lively, filled with laughter and stories. Jordan's friends recounted tales of their oldest journeys as trainers, while Lily and James shared memories of Jordan's early days, much to his embarrassment.
After dinner, the real celebration began. The Smiths' spacious backyard had been transformed into a haven for Jordan's team. Each Pokémon had its area with personalized treats and toys.
As Jordan stepped outside, he was greeted by a cacophony of roars, growls, and cries. His Rayquaza, majestic and awe-inspiring, hovered above the gathering, its emerald scales glinting in the moonlight. On the ground, his Aggron stood tall, its steely frame reflecting the flickering light of lanterns. Torterra rumbled softly, its tree swaying gently, while Blissey chirped happily, already surrounded by younger Pokémon from the neighborhood.
"Listen up, everyone!" Jordan called, his voice carrying over the noise. The Pokémon quieted immediately, their attention fixed on their trainer. "This victory isn't mine alone. It's ours. Each of you played a part, whether you were in the battle or cheering from the sidelines. I couldn't have done this without you."
He walked among them, stopping to address each one personally. To Aggron, he said, "You're the reason we stood tall in that final battle. Cynthia's Garchomp was tough, but you proved we're tougher."
Aggron growled in agreement, thumping its massive tail against the ground.
To Torterra, he said, "You held your ground against Milotic and never gave up. You're my unshakable fortress."
Torterra lowered its massive head, rumbling affectionately.
When he reached Blissey, Jordan knelt. "You've been underestimated by everyone, but you've always proven them wrong. Thank you for being the heart of this team."
Blissey chirped and handed Jordan one of her eggs, a gesture of affection and trust.
Finally, Jordan turned to Rayquaza, who descended to meet him. "You've been a symbol of power and grace. The world has seen what you can do, and I couldn't be prouder."
The dragon Pokémon let out a low, rumbling growl before nuzzling him gently.
As the night wound down and the neighbors began to leave, Jordan sat with his parents and Professor Rowan on the porch, gazing at the stars. His Pokémon, tired from the day's festivities, rested peacefully in the yard.
"I still can't believe it," Jordan admitted, breaking the comfortable silence. "Beating Cynthia… it feels like a dream."
Lily reached over and took his hand. "It's not a dream, sweetheart. It's the result of years of hard work, determination, and trust. You've earned this."
"Your mother's right," James said, his voice soft but firm. "But remember, this is just the beginning. The world is bigger than Sinnoh, and there are more challenges out there."
Jordan nodded. "I've been thinking about that. But for now, I just want to enjoy this moment."
Rowan chuckled. "That's wise. But I have no doubt you'll be ready for whatever comes next."
A Heartfelt Conversation with His Pokémon
Before heading to bed, Jordan spent some time alone with Aggron and Torterra, his stalwart partners in the battle against Cynthia. Sitting between them under the moonlight, he spoke quietly.
"You two have been with me through so much," he said. "I couldn't have asked for better friends. Tomorrow, we'll rest, but I want you both to be ready for whatever comes next. The world is watching us now."
Aggron growled softly, while Torterra nodded solemnly.
A Call to His Parents
Before finally retiring for the night, Jordan video-called his parents, who had stayed late at the celebration.
"I just wanted to say thank you," he said, his voice thick with emotion. "For everything. For believing in me, for supporting me, for… being there."
James smiled, his face illuminated by the screen. "You've made us proud, son. Not just because you're a champion, but because of the person you've become."
Lily wiped away a tear. "You've always been our champion, Jordan. Winning battles is just a bonus."
As the house finally quieted, Jordan lay in his childhood bed, surrounded by trophies, photos, and mementos of his journey. Beside him, Blissey snuggled close, a comforting presence that lulled him to sleep.
His last thoughts before drifting off were of his Pokémon, his family, and the challenges that lay ahead. Whatever the future held, he knew he was ready. For tonight, though, he allowed himself to rest, knowing he had already achieved something extraordinary.
3rd person POV –
The warm morning sun filtered through the Smith family's living room windows, casting a golden glow on the modest but cozy space. The celebration of Jordan's victory in the Sinnoh League had barely quieted down, yet he sat at the dining table with his parents, Lily and James Smith.
Lily had prepared a hearty breakfast of pancakes and berries, a rarity given her usually busy schedule at Professor Rowan's lab. James, still in his Sinnoh Rangers uniform from the early morning patrol, sipped his coffee quietly, waiting for his son to speak.
Jordan toyed with his fork, his expression thoughtful. His mind was already racing, not with thoughts of relaxation after his recent triumph, but with a decision that had been brewing since the battle with Cynthia. Finally, he looked up, breaking the silence.
"Mom, Dad," Jordan began, his voice steady yet filled with anticipation. "I've been thinking about what's next."
James raised an eyebrow, while Lily set her cup of tea down, giving her son her full attention. "Go on," she said softly.
Jordan leaned forward, his eyes alight with determination. "I want to compete in the Kanto League next. There's so much history there—the original Indigo Plateau, the legacy of trainers like Red, Blue, and even Professor Oak. I feel like it's the next step in my journey."
Lily's expression shifted from surprise to a warm smile. "The Kanto League," she mused, nodding. "It's an excellent choice. The competition there will be fierce, and you'll have a chance to make your mark on a region with so much significance."
James set his coffee mug down, his serious demeanor softening. "It's a bold move, son. After Sinnoh, some might expect you to take a break, but you're choosing to push yourself further. I respect that." He leaned back, crossing his arms. "But you know this won't be like Sinnoh. Kanto's trainers have their unique styles and strategies. It'll be a whole new challenge."
Jordan grinned. "That's exactly why I want to go. I've proven myself here, but I want to see how I measure up against trainers from another region. Plus," he added, his tone growing more reflective, "I want to explore. I've heard so much about places like Cerulean Cave, the Power Plant, and the Sevii Islands. I think this is what I need to grow—not just as a trainer but as a person."
Lily reached across the table, placing her hand over Jordan's. "You've always been adventurous, Jordan. From the time you were little, you wanted to see the world and learn everything you could. Competing in the Kanto League feels like the right step for you. But…" she hesitated, her eyes glinting with motherly concern. "Promise me you'll take care of yourself. You're not just carrying your dreams now; you've become a symbol for so many people here in Sinnoh."
Jordan nodded. "I will, Mom. I promise."
James smirked. "You've got the skill and the team to make waves in Kanto. But don't forget your roots. Remember everything you've learned here—your adaptability, your patience. They'll serve you well." He paused, then added with a rare smile, "And make sure to give those Kanto trainers a run for their money."
The next morning, the Smith household was a flurry of activity. Jordan's Pokémon were gathered in the backyard, their presence filling the air with electric energy. Each one seemed to understand that their trainer was embarking on a new chapter of his journey.
Lily and James stood by the gate, watching as Jordan secured his backpack. His Poké Balls, including his trusted Aggron, Rayquaza, Torterra, and Blissey, were clipped to his belt. The rest of his Pokémon were safely transferred to Professor Rowan's care, ready to be called upon when needed.
Professor Rowan himself arrived to see Jordan off. "You've made us proud, Jordan," he said, his tone both firm and warm. "Kanto is lucky to have you. And when you've conquered their league, you'd better come back and tell me all about it."
"I will," Jordan promised, shaking Rowan's hand. "Thank you for everything."
Lily hugged her son tightly, tears welling in her eyes. "Stay safe, Jordan. And remember, no matter where you go, this will always be your home."
James extended a hand, which Jordan shook firmly before being pulled into a brief, fatherly embrace. "Make history, son."
As Jordan set out on the path leading out of Sandgem Town, he turned back one last time. His parents and Professor Rowan stood side by side, waving. His Pokémon, including Rayquaza, hovered nearby, a constant reminder of the strength and trust he had built with them.
With a deep breath, Jordan turned back toward the horizon. The Kanto region awaited—a land of new adventures, fierce battles, and untold possibilities. His journey was far from over; in many ways, it was just beginning.
And as he walked, his determination burned brighter than ever. The world would soon know that Jordan Smith was more than a champion—he was a legend in the making.
Professor Oak's POV –
Professor Samuel Oak sat in his study, the screen before him glowing with the image of the Sinnoh League battlefield. The tension in the room mirrored the intensity of the battle as Jordan Smith faced off against Cynthia. For Oak, this was more than just entertainment; it was a moment to witness history being made.
"Remarkable… remarkable," he muttered as Jordan's Rayquaza, its emerald scales glimmering under the stadium lights, soared through the air with an elegance and power few had ever seen. "A legendary Pokémon, perfectly in sync with its trainer. And that Aggron… It's not just strong, it's a fortress on legs."
Oak jotted down notes in his ever-present notebook, recording observations about Jordan's tactics and the unique behavior of his Pokémon. "He's not just commanding them—he's working with them as equals. That's what sets him apart."
Delia Ketchum's POV –
In their cozy living room in Pallet Town, Delia and Ash Ketchum sat together, glued to the television. Ash was perched at the edge of the couch, his eyes wide with excitement. Pikachu, though not yet officially his Pokémon, sat beside him, mimicking his enthusiasm.
"Mom, look at that!" Ash exclaimed, pointing as Rayquaza unleashed a devastating Dragon Pulse. The beam of energy collided with Cynthia's Milotic, sending shockwaves across the battlefield. "That's a Rayquaza! A real legendary Pokémon!"
Delia smiled at her son's uncontainable excitement. "It's incredible, isn't it?" she said. "Jordan has such a deep bond with his Pokémon. That's what makes him so strong."
Ash nodded, his fists clenched with determination. "One day, I'm going to be just like him. No—better than him! I'll have a legendary Pokémon too!"
Delia chuckled. "You'll need to work hard, Ash. But with your determination, I believe you can do anything."
Gary Oak's POV –
Across town in the Oak household, Gary Oak sat with his grandfather, watching the same battle. Unlike Ash, who cheered at every turn, Gary observed with quiet intensity.
"Rayquaza is impressive," Gary admitted, leaning forward. "But that Aggron… That's raw power. How did Jordan train it to that level? It barely flinched against Garchomp's Earthquake."
Professor Oak smiled, pleased to see his grandson aanalyzingthe match so closely. "Jordan's strength lies in more than just his training methods," he said. "It's the trust and understanding he shares with his Pokémon. That's what allows them to push beyond their limits."
Gary crossed his arms, his competitive spirit igniting. "If Jordan's coming to Kanto, I'll make sure I'm ready. He might be a champion-level trainer, but he's not invincible."
3rd person POV –
After the battle concluded with Jordan's Aggron delivering the final blow to Cynthia's Garchomp, both Ash and Gary found themselves outside, their excitement spilling over.
"Did you see that?!" Ash shouted, running up to Gary, who had just stepped out of his grandfather's lab. "A Rayquaza! And Aggron took down Garchomp! Jordan's incredible!"
Gary smirked. "Yeah, he's good. But I'm going to be better."
"You?" Ash scoffed. "You haven't even started your journey yet!"
"Neither have you," Gary retorted. "But when I do, I'll be miles ahead of you, Ashy-boy."
The two boys stared each other down, their rivalry as fierce as ever, but there was a shared spark of excitement in their eyes. Both knew that their journeys were about to begin, and the thought of possibly encountering Jordan in Kanto added a new layer of anticipation.
Red's POV –
High in the snowy peaks of Mt. Silver, Red watched the broadcast from a portable device. The silence of the mountain was broken only by the sound of the commentators narrating the intense battle.
"Jordan Smith," Red murmured, his breath visible in the cold air. "He's earned this victory."
As someone who had stood atop the pedestal of champions, Red understood the immense effort and dedication required to reach such heights. Watching Jordan's Rayquaza dominate the battlefield brought back memories of his battles with legendary Pokémon.
"Cynthia is one of the strongest champions," Red thought. "And he defeated her with such precision. If he's heading to Kanto, things are about to get very interesting."
Blue's POV –
In the Viridian City Gym, Blue Oak leaned against the back of his chair, his arms crossed as he watched the match on a large screen. The final moments, where Jordan's Aggron stood victorious over Garchomp, brought a low whistle from him.
"Well, I'll be," Blue said, a grin spreading across his face. "The kid's the real deal."
His thoughts drifted to his time as a champion and the countless challenges he had faced. "If he's anything like what I just saw, Jordan's going to tear through the Kanto League. And if he ends up at my gym…" Blue's grin widened. "I'll make sure he earns that badge."
3rd person POV –
Later that evening, as Delia was preparing dinner, her Poké-Gear buzzed with a message. She wiped her hands on a towel and checked the screen. It was from Lily Smith.
[Hi Delia, I wanted to let you know that Jordan has decided to compete in the Kanto League. Should be arriving in the Kanto region in about 7 to 10 days and I think both Ash and Gary would have started their journeys. Maybe they'll cross paths?]
Delia's heart swelled with excitement. She looked over at Ash, who was playing with Pikachu in the living room. "Ash," she called out, her voice tinged with enthusiasm.
"What is it, Mom?" Ash asked, bounding over.
"Your cousin Jordan is coming to Kanto," Delia said. "He'll be here around a week after you and Gary leave for your journeys."
Ash's eyes lit up. "Jordan's coming here? That's so cool! Do you think I'll get to battle him?"
Delia laughed. "You'll have to catch up to him first. But I think you'll learn a lot just by watching him."
3rd person POV –
With Jordan's victory over Cynthia and the news of his upcoming journey to Kanto, excitement spread across the region. Trainers of all levels, from beginners to seasoned champions, were eager to see what he would bring to the table.
In Pallet Town, Ash and Gary felt their anticipation grow. For them, the thought of starting their journeys in the shadow of someone as accomplished as Jordan was both intimidating and inspiring. They vowed to work harder than ever, knowing that their paths might one day cross with the newly crowned Sinnoh Champion.
