Jordan's adventure in the Pokémon world

Chapter 3: Chapter - 3

Lily Smith POV –

Lily Smith leaned forward on her small kitchen table, fingers tapping anxiously against her coffee mug as she waited for the live feed to load. She had never felt this nervous watching a match, and she wasn't the one in the arena. No, that honor belonged to her son, Jordan, who, just a week ago, had finally set out on his journey. Now, here he was, facing his first Gym Leader in Oreburgh City, going up against Roark—a seasoned battler known for his powerhouse Rock-types. It was all she could do to keep herself from pacing around the room while the match loaded.

Finally, the Poké-Tube feed snapped into place, and she could see the Oreburgh Gym's rocky interior, the crowd already murmuring with anticipation. And there, in the challenger's box, stood Jordan, looking every bit as determined and fierce as she remembered from his practice battles in the backyard. His sturdy Lairon was by his side, eyes gleaming with anticipation. Lily's heart swelled with pride, but she couldn't help the wave of nervousness that followed.

"Come on, Jordan, you've got this," she whispered, clutching her coffee mug a bit too tightly.

As the referee raised his hand to begin the battle, Lily's fingers started drumming faster against her mug. She watched Jordan's calm confidence, the way he surveyed the battlefield, and the quick, eager stance of Lairon beside him. This was his first real test, and she knew how much it meant to him.

"Lairon's your ace," she murmured, a smile tugging at her lips. "He'll stand strong with you, I know it."

As Jordan sent out his Mudkip to face Roark's Golem, Lily's brows furrowed. Golem was formidable, especially against a relatively inexperienced Mudkip. She leaned closer to the screen, hanging on every move. When Roark ordered Golem to use Earthquake, she winced, anticipating the impact. But then she saw Jordan's grin—an expression of fierce determination. His voice came through clearly on the broadcast: "Mudkip, counter with Water Gun!"

Lily held her breath as Mudkip's Water Gun shot forward, countering Golem's move with surprising accuracy. It wasn't enough to take Golem down, but it did enough to show the crowd that Jordan and Mudkip weren't backing down.

"That's it, Jordan! Keep it up!" she cheered, her voice filling the empty room. As Mudkip dodged and responded with a well-timed Water Pulse, Lily's eyes lit up with pride. His strategy and ability to adapt to Golem's attacks were evident, and she could see the effect it was having on Roark.

When Mudkip finally landed the decisive Water Pulse, taking down Golem, Lily couldn't contain her joy. She clapped her hands together, beaming. "Oh, yes! That's my boy! You're showing them what you've got!"

Next came Charmander, an unusual choice against Roark's Onix, considering the type disadvantage. Lily watched, slightly anxious, but her heart filled with admiration. Jordan's bond with his Charmander was clear, and she knew how much trust he had in his fiery friend.

She leaned forward, watching Charmander dodge Onix's Rock Throws and Sandstorm attacks with nimble skill. Every move was sharp, and precise, reflecting the hours Jordan had spent training Charmander to dodge and strike back.

"Keep it up, Charmander! You're doing great!" she encouraged, almost willing her words through the screen to them.

When Jordan finally ordered Charmander to use Dragon Breath, Lily's eyes widened. The green flames burst forward, striking Onix with a force that made the massive Rock-type falter. She clenched her fists, her excitement growing with every second. Charmander landed hit after hit, managing to wear down Onix in a truly impressive display. When Onix finally crashed to the ground, defeated, she jumped up in her chair, unable to contain her cheers.

"That's two down, Jordan! You're amazing!" she exclaimed, grinning from ear to ear. Her boy was more talented than she had ever dreamed, and she couldn't wait to see what he'd do next.

When Roark called out Bastiodon, Lily knew this was a serious challenge. She felt a pang of worry—Bastiodon was heavily armored, a perfect counter for defense, and this matchup would push Turtwig to his limits. But Lily watched as Turtwig faced off against the larger Pokémon with a defiant gleam in his eyes, and her worry began to fade. That was her son's Pokémon, after all—fearless and resilient.

As Turtwig launched Razor Leaves against Bastiodon, Lily nodded in approval. But Roark's response came quickly, ordering an Ancient Power attack that filled the screen with rocks. Her heart clenched as she watched Turtwig dodge, sidestepping the stones like a pro.

"Stay sharp, Turtwig! You're doing great!" she encouraged, gripping her coffee cup as Turtwig closed in for a Bite attack.

The next few moments were a whirlwind as Turtwig tanked Bastiodon's Flash Cannon and kept up with his relentless assault. When Jordan commanded Turtwig to use Seed Bomb, a proud smile spread across her face. The attack had a massive impact, enough to push Bastiodon back. And then, when Turtwig finished it with Solar Beam, Lily's pride soared even higher.

She pumped her fist in the air, laughing joyfully. "You did it, Jordan! Turtwig, that was perfect!" she exclaimed, hardly able to believe that her son had already taken down three of Roark's Pokémon.

As Roark called out Rampardos, Lily knew this would be the hardest challenge yet. Rampardos was powerful, one of the strongest Rock types in Roark's arsenal, and its Head Smash was a force to be reckoned with. But when she saw Jordan call out Lairon, her heart swelled with emotion. She knew Lairon had been his first Pokémon, his closest partner, and seeing them take the field together filled her with pride.

"Alright, Jordan," she whispered, her eyes glued to the screen. "Show them what you and Lairon can do."

As the final battle commenced, Lily watched with bated breath. Rampardos' Head Smash struck with incredible force, but Lairon held its ground, bolstered by Jordan's Iron Défense strategy. She saw the confidence in Jordan's eyes as he ordered an Iron Head in response, and Lairon didn't disappoint, crashing into Rampardos with powerful momentum.

"Come on, Lairon! Show them your strength!" she cheered, her fingers tapping rhythmically against the edge of her laptop.

Roark countered with a Zen Headbutt, and Lily gasped, watching as Lairon dodged just in time, following it up with a Rock Slide that caught Rampardos off guard. It was clear to her that Jordan's strategy wasn't just about power—it was about skill, precision, and the bond he shared with his Pokémon.

When Rampardos retaliated with a devastating Earthquake, she held her breath, watching Lairon endure the move. And then, Jordan ordered Metal Burst—a brilliant tactic that left Rampardos staggering, weakened but not yet down.

Lily's hands shook slightly as Roark called for Giga Impact, and she could hardly breathe as Rampardos charged forward, gathering all its remaining strength. This was it—the final clash and it was going to be close. But she could see Jordan's determination, his unshakeable trust in Lairon, as he called for Iron Tail. The two attacks collided in a spectacular explosion, dust and rocks flying across the screen.

When the dust cleared, she saw Rampardos lying on the ground, unable to continue. Lairon stood victorious, barely standing but victorious nonetheless. Lily let out a triumphant cheer, wiping a tear from her eye.

"Oh, Jordan! You did it!" she cried, her voice choked with pride and emotion. Her heart was full to bursting as she watched Jordan receive his Coal Badge from Roark, his face beaming with pride and accomplishment.

As the screen showed Jordan leaving the arena, Lily leaned back, letting out a long, relieved breath. She couldn't remember the last time she'd felt this proud. Her son, who had only just begun his journey, was already achieving incredible things. And she knew that this was just the beginning. Jordan was destined for greatness, and as his mother, she would be there every step of the way, cheering him on from wherever she could.

With a soft smile, she looked at the screen, whispering, "Keep going, Jordan. I'll always be here, cheering you on."

James Smith POV –

Commander James Smith had seen many things during his career with the Sinnoh Pokémon Rangers, but today, his focus was far from the usual rescues and patrolling. His attention was entirely on the small screen of his laptop in his office, streaming a live match on Poké-Tube. Today was a big day; his son, Jordan, was facing his first Gym Leader, Roark of Oreburgh City, and James was determined to watch every second.

Jordan had only been on his journey for a week, but James knew this battle was something his son had been eagerly anticipating since the day he'd first received Aron—now Lairon—as his partner Pokémon. James himself had gifted that Aron to him, and watching how far Jordan and Lairon had come made him feel an enormous sense of pride.

As he waited for the battle to start, a few of his colleagues drifted in, curious about what had Commander Smith so glued to his screen. Ranger Mia, one of his closest colleagues, raised an eyebrow as she noticed the Poké-Tube screen open.

"Commander Smith, is that… your son's battle?" she asked with a small smile, recognizing Jordan on the screen.

James grinned, not taking his eyes off the screen. "Yep, that's my boy. His first Gym match. Let's just say Roark doesn't know what's about to hit him."

Mia chuckled, pulling up a chair to join him. "Well, if he's anything like you, Roark's in for a tough match."

James shot her a proud look. "He's already ten times the trainer I was at his age. Only a week in, and he's taking on a Gym Leader like Roark. Just watch—you'll see some real talent out there today."

The countdown to the match began on screen, and James leaned forward, a spark of excitement in his usually composed demeanor. He watched as Jordan and Roark took their positions, Jordan looking focused and determined, his eyes set on his opponent. That intensity was familiar—James had seen it many times in the mirror before his battles.

As the referee raised his hand to signal the start, James could barely contain himself.

"Come on, Jordan," he muttered, clenching his fists. "Show 'em what you're made of."

When Jordan sent out Mudkip as his first Pokémon, James nodded approvingly. His son was leading with versatility and type advantage—smart thinking for a Rock-type Gym. Across the screen, Roark sent out Golem, a powerful choice right out of the gate. The sight of the towering rock Pokémon didn't faze James, who knew his son was more than prepared.

"Good choice, kid," he whispered to himself, watching as Jordan ordered Mudkip to strike first with a Water Gun. The jet of water struck Golem with impressive force, though Roark's Pokémon countered with an Earthquake that sent tremors across the battlefield.

James couldn't help but wince at the sight of Mudkip weathering the Earthquake, but he quickly relaxed when Mudkip rebounded, looking as determined as ever. The little Mudkip had trained hard under Jordan's guidance.

Beside him, Ranger Mia raised her eyebrows, impressed. "That's some serious resilience. I didn't expect Mudkip to take on a Golem like that."

James chuckled, crossing his arms. "That's nothing—wait till you see how Jordan finishes it."

Sure enough, Jordan called for a powerful Water Pulse, catching Golem mid-move and forcing it to stumble. The super-effective hit was enough to take Golem down, and the crowd roared as Roark recalled his Pokémon. James pumped his fist, grinning.

"That's my boy!" he said, his voice a mixture of pride and excitement. "See that, Mia? This kid's going places."

Mia laughed, shaking her head. "I'll admit, that was impressive. Golem didn't stand a chance."

As Roark called out Onix next, James leaned in, a bit anxious for his son. Charmander's type disadvantage was no small hurdle, but he trusted Jordan's skill and Charmander's tenacity.

"Alright, Jordan," he muttered, eyes locked on the screen. "Let's see how you handle this."

He watched as Charmander nimbly dodged Onix's Rock Throws and Sandstorm, displaying a level of agility that made him swell with pride. Jordan had trained Charmander well, focusing on evasion and precision. James couldn't help but admire his son's calm under pressure.

Then came the moment that made James sit up a little straighter—Jordan ordered Charmander to use Dragon Breath. The green flames shot toward Onix, hitting it squarely and forcing it back. James's colleagues exchanged glances, impressed.

"Didn't expect Charmander to be packing a Dragon move this early on," remarked another ranger.

James smirked a gleam of pride in his eyes. "Jordan's always been a step ahead. He and Charmander must have trained together every day for days after he started his journey. They've got moves up their sleeve Roark hasn't even seen yet."

When Charmander finally took down Onix with a decisive Fire Spin, James practically leaped out of his seat. He laughed, slapping his hand on the desk.

"Two down! That's how it's done, Jordan!" he shouted, prompting a few amused looks from his colleagues. He didn't care—this was his son, and he was putting on a show.

As Roark called out Bastiodon, James knew this would be a real test. Bastiodon was built for defense, and taking it down would require patience and strategy. Jordan called out Turtwig, and James nodded approvingly, recognizing the tactical choice.

"Alright, Jordan, let's see what you and Turtwig can do," he murmured, his gaze fixed on the screen.

He watched as Turtwig launched Razor Leaves at Bastiodon, only for the attack to bounce off the Pokémon's shield-like body. Roark countered with Ancient Power, sending rocks hurtling toward Turtwig. James clenched his fists, hoping his son would find a way through Bastiodon's defenses.

Then, Jordan called for Turtwig's Seed Bomb—a high-risk, high-reward move. When the explosive attack hit Bastiodon, causing a visible crack in its defense, James let out a cheer.

"Yes! That's it! Just keep at it, son!"

As Turtwig followed up with Solar Beam, finally breaking through Bastiodon's defenses, James's grin stretched wider than ever.

"Three down, just one to go!" he exclaimed to his colleagues, who were now thoroughly invested in the match.

The atmosphere in the room shifted as Roark called out Rampardos, his ace Pokémon. This was a powerhouse James had seen in action before, and he knew it could be a tough opponent. But when he saw Jordan call out Lairon, a deep pride settled in his chest. This was it—father, son, and Pokémon, all facing their biggest challenge.

Beside him, Ranger Mia nudged him. "That Lairon—it's the Aron you gave Jordan, right?"

James nodded, his expression softening. "Yeah, that's him. I gave him Aron the day he decided he wanted to become a trainer. They've been inseparable ever since. Watching them now… it's more than I could've hoped for."

As the battle began, James held his breath. Rampardos opened with Head Smash, a brutal move that sent Lairon reeling. But Jordan was ready—he ordered Lairon to use Iron Défense, hardening its body to tank the next hit. James felt a surge of pride watching his son keep his composure.

"That's right, Jordan—keep calm, stay focused," he murmured, as though Jordan could hear him.

The battle intensified, with Rampardos and Lairon trading blows. When Jordan called for Metal Burst, James grinned, watching as Lairon used the move to reflect Rampardos' Zen Headbutt. It was a risky move, but it paid off, leaving Rampardos visibly weakened.

The showdown came as Roark ordered Giga Impact. James's heart pounded as he watched Rampardos charge forward, gathering all its energy. He held his breath, praying that Jordan had a plan.

Then came the moment he'd been waiting for—Jordan ordered Lairon to counter with Iron Tail, meeting Rampardos head-on. The collision was explosive, the dust and debris filling the screen. When it cleared, Rampardos lay on the ground, defeated, while Lairon stood victorious.

James threw his arms up, cheering louder than he had in years. His colleagues joined in, clapping and cheering for Jordan's victory.

"That's my boy!" he shouted, his pride overflowing. "He did it!"

As the screen showed Jordan accepting his Coal Badge, James couldn't have been prouder. Watching his son achieve something so significant, all while knowing he had played a small part in Jordan's journey, filled him with a sense of fulfillment unlike any he had felt before.

Turning to his colleagues, he said, "Mark my words—this is just the beginning. Jordan's going to be a legend someday, and I'll be cheering him on every.

Jordan POV –

After my match, I went out and also met with Rorak who gave me a TM for Slide and Bide and told me my cash prize should be in my bank account within an hour. After that, he thanked me for the amazing battle and I asked him for a small favor I told him about my going to the mines yesterday and finding 2 fossils and wanting to get them revived. Roark asked for the fossils and after a thorough check he said the fossils were in perfect condition he took me to a laboratory on the way he told me it would take at least 4 hours for them to be revived and when I asked for the money, he just waived me out he told me how the alliance is having more fossil pokemon so they are having the league and the professors sponsor the revivals for young trainers. I just nodded and soon I gave the scientist my Fossils and they told me it would take at least 4 hours and I just nodded. After some paperwork, I went to the Pokemon center and gave Nurse Joy my Pokemons and also called up Mom she congratulated me on winning my 1st badge of spectacularly and also told me to check my trainer page. Later on the trainer page, I saw many people saw my challenged Rorak to an advanced battle I also got a call from Dad and he congratulated me and then my Pokemon were healthy and ready to be picked up.

There I picked them up and went to a secluded place and released all my Pokemon. The first thing I did was congratulate them and we had a feast and I made sure to get everyone their favorite food. After that, I checked their status.

Lairon – Rock/Steel – [Male]; Status = [HP – A, Attack – S, Défense – S+, Stamina – A+, Special Défense {Endurance} – SS] Turtwig – Grass – [Male]; Status = [HP – S, Attack – A, Défense – A+, Special Attack – A, Special Défense {Endurance} – S+] Happiny – Normal – [Female]; Status = [HP – S, Attack – A, Défense – A+, Special Attack – B+, Special Défense {Endurance} – A+] Charmander – Fire – [Male]; Status = [HP – AA, Attack – S+, Défense – A+, Special Attack – A, Special Défense {Endurance} – A+] Mudkip – Water – [Male]; Status = [HP – S, Attack – S, Défense – S+, Special Attack – A+, Special Défense{Endurance} – SS]

All right looks good and I think by next week Lairon should be able to evolve into his final evolution with the pace we are going. And, I am now a Novice in both Aura and Psychics. When I checked my system I knew that I got a message and there I got an achievement in winning my first advanced gym battle and getting my first gym badge, I have done ½ of the reward for fossil Pokemon and I think I will get the next ½ when I capture the revived pokemon and I got an achievement box each for becoming a Psychic and Aura master.

Soon I was resting when I saw it was almost time to go to the lab and when I reached there I saw a person take me to a room where the machines were according to the people it was a lot like a baby sees his or her mother and imprints on them so I should be the first person they see and they said they would do one at a time. Soon I was alone in the room when the machine opened and from it came out a {Shiny} Shieldon I just smiled got to my knees and took out Lairon's special Poke block and from what I saw of the Shieldon it was a girl. Good to know and soon she got in my arms and went to sleep where I put her I captured her using my Ultra ball. And then the scientist opened the 2nd machine from who came out Aerodactyl and was also a girl what do you know? Anyway, Aerodactyl was much more energetic and playful I played with her a bit using a chew toy and also gave some poke-blocks and after she got tired also captured her using my Ultra ball. Soon I left the Lab and went to the Pokemon center as the Aerodactyl ball got locked as I had 6 Pokemon I went and called Professor Rowan who congratulated me on my win and also told me about getting a report on my finding 2 fossils and getting them revived I just nodded and told them about Aerodactyl and Shieldon also about how both were female and Shieldon was shiny. This got him to raise a brow as it is pretty rare for fossil Pokemon to be shiny and soon I told him about sending a Pokemon to the lab just give me a minute after muting the call I sent out Turtwig and told him about sending him to the lab and there when he alone think of the {IW} and he can find me there. Also the reason, Turtwig nodded at my response and soon he was at the Professor's Hand I just nodded and I talked to Nurse Joy about the fossils and asked for a check-up to see if everything was ok with both of them. After that, I left for the lobby where I opened the 4 boxes and I got 2 Pokemon eggs from my Psychic and Aura gift boxes – I got Riolu and an Abra. And from the other 2, I got a laptop from my old world with an internet connection to both worlds, of course, I can't call or message anyone from my previous life but I can at least watch some series and my other gift is manuals from basic to Great grandmaster in Muay Thai, Taekwondo and Kalarippayattu.

Soon I got a call from nurse Joy and she gave me a good health bill for both of them I went back to the capsule house and introduced the new members to the team in the {IW} and yes Turtwig was also in there. And after observing them I can say Aerodactyl is an extrovert and Shieldon is a introvert. But Sheldon did get well along with everyone especially Lairon both got along like 2 peas in a pod. And both of them loved the food I made as well as the oil massages I gave at night before bed. And I plan to leave tomorrow morning for my next destination.
