Jace the Elemental

Chapter 9: Inside the facility

Entering the facility, Jace wasn't surprised to see that the inside was bigger than the outside, just like the arena. The vast space was filled with various smaller rooms for personal training and a couple of larger ones for group sessions, and that was just on this floor—there were five others above. The air inside was cool and carried a faint metallic tang, like the aftermath of a powerful spell, and the distant hum of magical equipment echoed through the halls.

Due to both of them being faster than most normal people and part of the small group of training fanatics who actually wanted to train before the first official day, they were the only ones in the facility. The emptiness gave the place an almost eerie quality, but Jace found it oddly comforting. It was like having the entire facility to themselves, a blank canvas waiting for them to make their mark.

"This place is sick" Ethan said, his voice echoing slightly as he looked around. "The amount of rooms and the facilities are crazy, I'm jumping straight in." Ethan cracked his knuckles, his grin widening as he entered one of the private rooms. The door locked behind him with a soft click, and the glass turned into a solid wall, blocking all vision in and out

"Hell yeah," Jace said, nodding as he entered his own room. The door locked behind him with the same soft click, and a calm, automated voice filled the space. "Welcome to the private training rooms of the E-A-B. Private mode is on by default. Please enjoy your training." The glass of his room also turned solid, sealing him in complete privacy

Jace took a deep breath, the cool pleasant air refreshing as he looked around the small room. The walls were lined with faintly glowing magic circles, the floor hard beneath his feet. "Can I get a cushion to sit on?" Jace said out loud, not sure if that would work.

"Absolutely," the soft voice replied, and a cushion popped into one of the corners. It was soft yet firm, perfect for meditation.

"Thank you kindly," Jace said before sitting cross-legged on the cushion. He closed his eyes, focusing on his elements. Ice, his favorite and primary element, came to him first, its cool energy flowing through him like a steady river. Fire, the first element he had actually manifested, followed, its warmth contrasting with the ice. Earth, his primary defensive element, grounded him, its solid presence a comforting weight. Finally, water, his secondary defensive element, balanced the others, its fluidity allowing him to adapt and flow.

Jace manifested his elements, the four orbs circling around him in a steady rhythm. Ice, fire, earth, and water—each orb pulsed with its own unique energy, their colors shifting and blending as they moved. The air around him grew charged, a faint hum filling the room as he focused on his training.

He began condensing and expanding each of the orbs, working on his manipulation ability and magic capacity. The ice orb shrank to a small, dense sphere, its surface glistening like a polished gem, before expanding into a swirling vortex of frost. The fire orb flickered and danced, its flames growing brighter and hotter as he pushed its limits. The earth orb shifted between a solid, compact form and a loose, flowing mass of sand, while the water orb rippled and flowed, its surface shimmering like liquid glass.
