Is It Wrong to Abusing Cartoon Tropes in Dungeon?

Chapter 189: CA [189]: The Third Kanto Battle

Tokyo had faced Gastrea invasions twice before. The first was the initial Gastrea War, which ended with humanity retreating behind walls. The second, following the first, was another Gastrea invasion, collectively known as the Kanto Battles. Now, Tokyo faced a third invasion, dubbed the Third Kanto Battle.

The First Kanto Battle was a loss, with humanity forced to huddle within fortified walls. The Second Kanto Battle was a human victory, but in a baffling move, Tokyo's leadership melted down two thousand rifles used in the war to create a commemorative monument in District 40. In a resource-scarce world, who would destroy weapons for a statue? It reeked of a scheme to profit from new arms contracts.

Now, the Third Kanto Battle had begun. Aldebaran, leading a massive Gastrea army, stormed into District 40, an abandoned zone perfect for warfare. Defending it were Tokyo's Self-Defense Force and Osaka's troops under Gensei Takanotsume.

Gensei wanted to use Tokyo's Self-Defense Force as cannon fodder against the Gastrea, but his recent clashes with Kazumitsu Tendo made him distrust the locals. If he sent them to fight, what if they turned on him? So, he locked up the entire Self-Defense Force, confining them to their base.

The Self-Defense Force was furious. Bad enough that Civil Security agents often stole their spotlight, but now Osaka's troops were taking their jobs? It was infuriating.

If they'd seen the script like Altair, they'd have one thought: Not getting sent to die? What a deal!

In the original story, the Self-Defense Force faced Aldebaran's army and was wiped out, thousands dead, not a single survivor. Victory came only through a Civil Security team's decapitation strike. This time, Gensei led Tokyo's defense, dismissing Civil Security as unreliable. He trusted his own army, backed by the mysterious organization and the mighty Black Dragon as his ultimate trump card.

To him, Civil Security and Initiators were useless. His army's firepower would hold the line until the Black Dragon swooped in to save the day.

Osaka's forces clashed with the Gastrea army, unleashing a barrage of long-range weapons. But the Gastrea's numbers were overwhelming. Despite the intense bombardment, their limited range allowed countless fearless Gastrea to charge through the fire and overwhelm the troops.

Just as in the original story, Osaka's army was annihilated.

Forewarned by Altair, Seitenshi had prepared. As the army fell, she deployed Civil Security teams to take up the fight. Unlike the army's large-scale bombardments, Civil Security lacked heavy weapons. They operated like guerrillas, scattering across the ruins to engage the Gastrea in close-quarters combat. While less destructive than the army's attacks, this approach was far more effective at stalling. The army's concentrated formations drew aggressive Gastrea charges, but the scattered Civil Security teams divided the enemy's attention, slowing their advance.

Altair and Tina were among them, joined by another litle girl: Kayo Senju. After contracting Tina, Altair had taken her to Gensokyo to show her the place.

Thanks to Altair's ongoing supply deliveries, the litle girls in Gensokyo had built a Nordic-style wooden town from scratch, complete with a playground they'd crafted themselves. When they met Tina, they welcomed her warmly as Altair's new companion. Altair, absent for a few days, was greeted with equal enthusiasm. Kayo, ever the mischief-maker, teased him relentlessly, joking about how "Onii-chan's harem keeps growing" And wondering if he'd start collecting litle girls from America, Europe, or Russia next.

Tina, quick to join in, chimed in with her own teasing, claiming Altair had "snatched her off the street" And nearly fought someone over her, then made her drink "tasty stuff" That knocked her out, doing "who-knows-what" while she slept.

The two litle girls' tag-team antics left Altair exasperated, while the younger, clueless ones squealed, thinking he'd done something scandalous.

Resigned, Altair played along with the litle girls for a bit before returning to the real world. Kayo, however, insisted on coming along. Like Tina, she was a technical genius with a sharp mind and wanted to help. Altair agreed, bringing her to the battlefield on the Flying Nimbus.

"Onii-chan, what's our mission?" The two litle girls asked, clutching sniper rifles taller than themselves, peering down at the chaotic battlefield from the Flying Nimbus.

"Simple." Altair said. "Support the Civil Security teams below by targeting the Gastrea. You two stay up here and provide cover. I'll head down to grab some litle girls. Tina, you're in charge of calming the new ones we bring up. Got it?"

Kayo nodded seriously. "Understood. Onii-chan wants to expand his harem. Don't worry, I'll make sure the new girls know they're part of your harem!"

Tina nodded too. "Yeah, I wonder how many will drink that sleep-inducing juice this time."

Altair's eye twitched as he glanced at the mischievous duo, then shook his head and leaped off the Flying Nimbus.

Here's hoping today's litle girls are well-behaved.
