Volume 3 Chapter 5
5. Pay Up!!
Everyone’s gaze turned to the captain.
At this moment, the captain bit his lip, feeling very helpless. He could only tell everyone the truth. “We can’t set off! The ship is sinking!”
Upon hearing this, everyone’s faces turned ashen.
“How could this be, Captain!”
“The ship is constantly leaking water now. Our crew is trying to repair it… But it’s no use. There are too many leaks, and the ship’s core power system has also been blasted apart by Fire Magic and Sword Qi!”
The captain specifically emphasized the words “Fire Magic” and “Sword Qi”.
Everyone immediately understood the reason why the ship was sinking.
“Ah, this…”
Xia Yi was very embarrassed and didn’t know what to say for a moment.
“I, I…”
Yue Liu felt everyone’s burning gazes, as if they wanted to swallow her whole.
Earlier, when Xia Yi and Yue Liu were causing a ruckus on the deck, they had gotten carried away. They didn’t pay much attention to anything else, only thinking about how to quickly defeat the other party and then, under everyone’s watchful eyes, they wanted to thoroughly rub it in and make the other lose all face.
As a result, being too focused on this matter led to such consequences.
Yet everyone knew the strength of this little mage and swordswoman. They were not to be provoked!
Now, the crowd was angry but didn’t dare to speak out.
“What should we do, Captain? We won’t sink with the ship too, right?”
“Rest assured,” the captain said, “I’ve already ordered the crew to repair the ship as quickly as possible. There’s no problem reaching shore before it sinks.”
“Then what about after that? We’re supposed to go to the Rhine Kingdom.”
“Don’t worry. I’ve already contacted the port. A new ship has set off and is heading our way. Everyone, please be patient and wait for the new passenger ship to arrive. It can then take you all and continue the journey to the Rhine Kingdom.”
The captain’s explanation finally put everyone at ease.
Xia Yi also breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this.
“To be able to remain calm and rational in the midst of a storm from hell, truly an excellent captain…”
Yue Liu praised the captain, trying to ease the tense atmosphere.
At this time, the captain walked up to Xia Yi and Yue Liu, his expression solemn. He only said one short and powerful word—
“Compensation!”
“Ah?!”
Yue Liu was a bit at a loss and looked at Xia Yi.
Xia Yi also had a blank expression.
“Because of your impulsive actions, we have suffered huge losses! Although we are very grateful to you two for defeating the bandits, but…”
The more the captain thought about it, the angrier he became.
If he had known earlier, it would have been better to be robbed.
Handing over some money, those bandits would have just left after getting what they wanted. This ship wouldn’t have been wrecked!
In short, thousands of words could be summed up in…
“Compensation!!”
Xia Yi clicked her tongue. “Tsk, this Pinky really knows how to cause trouble…”
“What? Blaming me?” Yue Liu leaned in front of Xia Yi. “Wasn’t it you who used Fire Magic and randomly blasted everywhere on the ship!”
“I used Fire Magic because you run fast and react fast! I could only use high-power magic. What choice did I have!”
“If I didn’t move, I would have been blasted to death!”
“You’re blaming me?” Xia Yi pointed at herself. “Don’t try to confuse right and wrong here. Wasn’t your Sword Qi also about to cut the ship in half? You dare say you have no responsibility at all and it’s all my fault?”
“It is your fault!” Yue Liu retorted. “If you hadn’t suddenly used a fire arrow on me earlier, would I have fought with you?”
“You deliberately provoked me by cutting the railing beside me!”
“Then think about how you mocked me before!”
Seeing Xia Yi and Yue Liu arguing, everyone’s heads were about to explode. The two sides each stuck to their own words, neither willing to back down, as if they were both very justified.
“Ladies, enough. Regardless of who’s right or wrong, you’re the ones who sank the ship! I’ve already contacted the guard squad at the Blackstone Kingdom’s port… If you don’t compensate us, you’ll face imprisonment!” The captain finally couldn’t bear it anymore.
Xia Yi asked the captain, “Captain, how much do we need to pay?”
“Ladies, although the ship is sinking, it only needs proper repairs to be usable again… So you don’t need to compensate for the entire passenger ship, just the repair costs.”
This was still considered good news.
The captain then explained the specific compensation amount to Xia Yi and Yue Liu.
“My training hasn’t even officially begun, and I have to suffer such a tribulation?!”
Yue Liu had a difficult expression, looking like she was about to cry.
“Ugh…”
After hearing the amount, Xia Yi also had a pained expression… For her current self, this was no small sum.
She could afford it, but it would be a huge expense.
After all, it was for the sake of going to the Rhine Kingdom, and she had indeed caused this trouble herself.
In the end, Xia Yi and Yue Liu could only endure the pain and pay.
After paying enough compensation, the captain said there was no problem. He would also arrange for the two of them to board the subsequent passenger ship and head to the Rhine Kingdom.
“My training funds, ah… I’ll have to start living frugally now…” Yue Liu held her head.
Xia Yi looked at her almost empty wallet, wanting to cry but unable to shed tears.
Guagua Frog Wallet, can’t hold on anymore!!
Damn it, it’s all Stinky Pinky’s fault!
Xia Yi turned her head and glared at Yue Liu.
Coincidentally, Yue Liu also turned her head and glared at Xia Yi.
In subtle ways, the two of them had an inexplicable tacit understanding.
…
The captain had the crew rush to repair the ship, barely managing to make an emergency landing on the shore.
A few hours later, the repair ship dispatched from the port arrived and towed away the half-sunken passenger ship. A new ship also picked up all the passengers.
Before boarding, the captain of the sunken ship repeatedly urged, “Ladies, I beg you, don’t make trouble, don’t argue anymore. Spare us. Our small business can’t withstand you two gods tossing us around like this!”
This made Xia Yi and Yue Liu a bit embarrassed and unable to refuse. They could only nod in agreement.
After boarding the new passenger ship, the two intentionally avoided each other and didn’t meet again, lest they find each other unpleasant and cause another conflict. If they blew up the passenger ship again, they really wouldn’t be able to afford the compensation.
Xia Yi couldn’t understand why every time she saw this Pinky, she felt an itch in her heart, an inexplicable desire to tease her.
This feeling…
Had she experienced it before?
…
There were no further incidents during the rest of the journey. After nearly a week of continuous sailing, the passenger ship crossed several countries, traveling from the northern part of the land to the central region, safely entering the Rhine Kingdom.
“Finally, I’ve entered the human world.” Xia Yi softly mused.
The passenger ship had already reached the port. When Xia Yi was about to disembark, she saw that Yue Liu had already gotten off and was standing on the pier, turning around and looking at her.
The girl stood in the breeze, her pink hair swaying in the wind, her beautiful pink eyes reflecting Xia Yi’s figure.
“Before we part ways, I have something to say to you.”
