Following the towering shadow upward, the gaze is drawn to the slowly advancing limb, its adamantine edges refracting a dazzling brilliance under the light. The sound of mechanical operation emanates from within the intricately carved and inscribed armor, etched with complex reliefs and adorned with strands of inscriptions.

Rather than the deafening footsteps that accompany each stride, this sound is more like the underlying tone of a canvas, omnipresent and filling every corner, as if enveloping everyone present.

Even with the rising dust that surrounds the limb, it does not overshadow but instead enhances a sacred aura, akin to glimpsing a blurred deity through a haze.

Amidst the footsteps passing by, silence gradually spreads through the crowd. As this colossal entity strides past, any cheers or applause seem utterly meaningless.

She needs no praise from the tiny humans at her feet, as if she were something transcendent and greater than all living beings.

When faced with this creation, which bears a humanoid form yet exudes indifference from every corner, a more intense, primal desire almost uncontrollably begins to emerge from the depths of each person's heart and genes.

Indeed, compared to the sound of cheers, the irresistible urge to worship fills the hearts of the lower hive dwellers on either side, under the mechanical sound that crushes over everyone like a mountain range.

In the terrifying armaments entwined with lines on her arms, in the heavy, earth-like armor of her body, in the cold, meteor-like azure electronic eyes of her head.

No one dares to doubt the true existence of the Omnissiah. She is the emissary of the Machine God on earth, the manifestation of His will among all living beings, the transcendent Titan above all things.

She is the God-Machine.

A sense of detached sanctity was diffusing and pressing upon everyone's legs. It was unclear who first lowered their body to kneel, but the once fervent crowd began to prostrate themselves on the ground like wheat bowing in the wind.

No one's gaze touched the Titan's form anymore; its glory did not need to be bathed in through the eyes. She was passing by each person, He was walking beside everyone.

Although no sound other than the Titan's passage reached the ears of the people, everyone knew that an emotion far more intense than the previous fervor was brewing among the crowd.

So much so that when the divine machine moved away, the interception line could no longer hold back the surging crowd—in fact, the maintainers of the interception line themselves had already joined them. People surged like a tide onto the shattered ground tread by the divine machine, vying for ownership of every piece of debris and rubble.

This was precisely the significance of not having the Titan parade via transport vehicles.

Rather than being carried by transport vehicles, allowing the divine machine to tread the ground inch by inch, with each footstep resonating, was enough to crush any unease in people's hearts and any plots dared by petty schemers.

The parade had effectively ended after the Titan passed through. No high-ranking officer dared to compare themselves to this creation, let alone appear as a leader in a parade alongside it.

Yes, even Zhang Ge did not attend.

Despite his strong insistence—after all, what if there was danger? Even if there wasn't, standing up as a famous target wouldn't be bad, right? Once he walked through the parade, would he still need to worry about assassins?

But both the nobility and the Mechanicus firmly rejected this request.

The nobility feared that this newly promoted war hero might be assassinated during the parade. If it failed, it would be fine, but if it succeeded, they might as well forget about fighting and join the circus instead.

As for the Mechanicus, they were attempting to subtly sever the connection between this Titan and Zhang Ge through this method, paving the way for future schemes.

Although the Tech-Priests may appear dull, it's merely because they can't be bothered to reveal their contemplative nature to ordinary people; they are not truly foolish.

While Zhang Ge may covet the Titan, he did not conceal his issuing of commands to it.

There are two possibilities.

First, the Titan pilot is willing to follow Zhang Ge's commands, or at least holds a great deal of trust in his directives.

Second, replace the pilot with the machine spirit, and the pilot is compelled to obey due to the machine spirit's influence.

Or perhaps it's a combination of both.

But regardless of which possibility, it signifies that there is still an inseparable connection between Zhang Ge and this Warlord Titan. A Titan is not a mere vehicle that can be driven away by removing or killing the person in the driver's seat.

At present, the Titan is a massive boulder suspended on the balance scale between forces. If the Titan becomes displeased and decides to side with any one faction, it would be completely unacceptable to the others.

Or perhaps it doesn't even need to switch sides; the Titan might seek immediate revenge on its own. If it stands at the entrance of your hive city and unleashes volleys of volcano cannon fire, what can you do? Try to drown the Titan with human waves?

Let's not even mention whether other factions would assist, or whether the hive citizens would spontaneously help, nor whether subordinates could or would be willing to do so.

Even if the Titan were indeed destroyed, if anyone leaked the news, the faction responsible for its destruction would be waiting for retribution.

Although a war is currently underway, once the news reaches the Mechanicus-held Macro-North Sector, no one would mind diverting some troops to form an expeditionary force and come to see what exactly is happening in this hive city.

Therefore, before investigating what has truly occurred, it's better to let this card remain in the hands of Zhang Ge, who is independent of any hive faction. At least this way, it's just dealing with one person, and his goals currently seem aligned with everyone else's.

So, what was Zhang Ge and his group doing while the Titan was parading?

First, Zhang Ge, upon learning that Olivia was going to attend the parade, searched for a way to remotely communicate with her. After rummaging through a pile of communication devices, he found it unnecessary.

All he needed to do was hang the cross inside his clothing, close to his skin. Even encountering a strand of hair left by Olivia counted as contact, allowing direct communication without any devices.

Thus, after being denied participation in the parade, he also refused to control the scene outside the parade and instead went directly to the base assigned by both factions to investigate.

As for Amilia and Dominica, they did not follow him. After entering the city, they temporarily parted ways with Zhang Ge and headed towards the area controlled by the Ecclesiarchy, likely heading to the local stronghold of the Order of the Martyred Saint.

The three thus temporarily separated at the hive city gate.
