Inuyasha:The third sword

Chapter 129: Chapter 129:Hari and Ruri.

The whistling generated by the multiple arrows as they pierce the wind at a rapid speed spreads through the night, while Hari who wields her dual swords runs after the shooter.

Hari's speed was clearly supernatural, a benefit of being a demon, but Kikyo was not competing in pure speed, instead she is surrounded by her shikigami and uses them to move.

"Ahgg, stop moving!"

Quite angry at Kikyo's constant running away, she moves her hand to the ornaments in her hair and rips off a few petals to throw at Kikyo.

They were faster than Hari's sword slashes, much faster, thus succeeding in rendering Kikyo unable to dodge the petals, or so it had to have been, as Kikyo takes flight into the sky with the help of her shikigami.

"Even if I did, could you hit me?"

"¡Arrogant human!"

"It's a fact what you said."

Showing even greater pride than Hari, who is a demon, Kikyo raises her bow again and with controlled movements shoots a rapid succession of arrows.

Even Hari who was a demon had to retreat in the face of this rain of arrows, normal arrows may not do anything to him, but these are imbued with purifying power, making them dangerous to any evil being.

Enlarging the distance between the two of them enough, Kikyo brings the bow to a full moon position and begins to fill the next arrow with power. From the iron tip a pink glow is released that quickly covers the entire arrow, and satisfied with that, Kikyo finally releases the string.

The air was torn by the force behind the arrow, while a pink trail lights up the night and makes the projectile look like a pink comet.

Hari had no choice but to block with both swords at the quickness of the arrow, causing her to be thrown backwards, but it didn't end there, as another arrow came and this one hit her squarely, forcing her to scatter into a moth pile.

"I guess mine wasn't arrogance, but... Maybe yours was?"

"Ah, ah, ah... Priestess…"

Rubbing his teeth together in clear annoyance, Hari, who is now in a super disheveled state, stares at Kikyo's smile with pure anger in his green eyes.

"How scary you scare me, wait, perchance... I've caught Asahiko. Never mind, it's time to end this."

Dismissing her own concerns about her having caught Asahiko and her penchant for talking while fighting, Kikyo keeps a safe distance from Hari in search of a new opening.

...Christopher/Asahiko pov....

"A, A, Achu! Who the hell is talking about me!"

Wiping the fictitious snot that has come out from my nose, he watches as Ruri keeps throwing fireballs this way, even though it's useless.

She's able to control fire, no, but now she is, it's quite rare... Truthfully it seems to me that she has the ability to steal abilities, no, more accurately copy them.

"You should say, cheers. You mannered girl."

"Because you don't die!"

"Ehh, I can control fire, it's more than obvious I have a great resistance towards it."

Slapping my face at the stupidity of her question, I step forward and appear in front of her. Without much thought I give a downward slash, which Ruri stops with the shaft of her spear, taking advantage of her being busy I shoot one of my tails towards her head, though she avoids it by tilting her upper body backwards.

It was certainly an unexpected reaction, but I had a backup plan and that was to hit her legs with another of my beautiful tails. Watching as her posture is shattered and even as she is lifted into the air for a few moments, I brought my free hand to her chest and unleashed a torrent of flames.

*¡Boooooom!*

The unleashed explosion illuminates the night for a few moments, while the heat generated increases the surrounding temperature. It was certainly an unexpected attack, but I know it is not defeated, I can feel how there is an area where my flames are not burning.

"Stop lying and playing dead, come out once and for all, aren't you coming out? Hehehehe am I going to have to come in?"

Yes, I'm quite enjoying beating this dirty skill mimic... What! I'm well within my holy right to do so and no one can deny me that.

While nodding to myself, I see the flames from my previous attack dispersing and revealing Ruri enveloped in a shield of flames, though she's still in a nasty state.

"Ah, Ah... I'm going to kill you, you damn fox!"

"I don't know, it looks fake. By the way, that thing you're doing back there is useless too... Well, I warned you."

Smiling hollowly, I wait quietly until she gathers enough energy to turn her flames from orange to white.

Finally filled with confidence from the amount of energy she managed to gather, Ruri makes an upward slash with her arm and sends a crescent of white flames towards where I am.

"I guess that's the limit of a cheap imitation, now it's time for you to understand why I'm the original owner."

No longer in control of the inherent arrogance of being a demon, I raise Clouded Fang and instantly set it ablaze in white flames. It's not just about the quantity of energy, but the quality of it... Yes, I was able to bring out white flames faster because I'm better than her.

With everything done and increasing my confidence with my own thoughts, I slash forward with Clouded Fang, letting out a crescent of white flames just like hers, only three times bigger.

*¡Boooooom!*

There was no mystery, the crescent I created devoured hers and then continued forward with even more power, basically it was her end. Calling this circus over, I turn around and look at the newcomer.

"I see you're done with your part Kikyo, so what happened in the end?"

"He escaped, I see the same thing happened here, otherwise you wouldn't be asking."

"Hehehe, you got me. Looks like the ability she copied from me also gave her a bit of fire resistance."

Scratching my head to look more nervous than necessary, I notice that Kikyo still has the same look on her face, basically she didn't buy the act one bit.

That's going to stop me, ha, of course not. With that said, she raised her hand and pointed a shaky finger towards the mess the battle had caused.

"Well... It's time to escape... No, not escape. This is."

"A strategic retreat?"

"Agh, yes, that's right."

Ignoring that I nearly choked on my saliva at the suddenness of Kikyo's response, I nodded my head a couple of times and calmly half-turned to leave.
