Inuyasha:The third sword

Chapter 128: Chapter 128:Moths!

Night had come to the land of the rising sun, causing the silver moon to take the place of the sun and the temperature to drop to a more temperate one.

In one particular area of this land stood the castle of the Usume clan, a fine and beautiful oriental style building. The architecture was certainly beautiful, the situation not so much.

There was terrible chaos on the main grounds of the castle, soldiers running back and forth, a skeleton that reached 20 meters and a priestess that looked like a rock among the waves.

"Spread out, they are only feeding it."

Keeping a stoic expression on her face, Kikyo steps out from the hole in the wall and perches on the roof of the castle, getting an exceptional view of the enemy.

"But priestess!"

"You heard her, everyone get away from the creature!"

"At your orders!"

Following Lord Usume's orders, the soldiers begin a calculated retreat backwards and Kikyo easily covers them with her bow.

Of course, such a strategy was not without some casualties, but not enough for the creature to regenerate more than Kikyo damages it.

"Without any bones for it to use up its regeneration it will once again operate at normal speed... Enough to finish and give Asahiko support."

Muttering the last part under her breath, Kikyo raises the red longbow again and aims at the creature's knee, thus eliminating its ability to move.

*Roar*

Ignoring the spectral noise generated by the Gashadokuro, which is more of a spiritual and mental attack, Kikyo stays on the attack. On the other side, on the walls that protect the castle from the outside forces, there is an encounter between Asahiko and a strange young lady.

This lady has hair of a light lavender color, while she wears two flower ornaments as decorations on both sides of her head. She wears a light costume while above that she wears chest and shoulder armor.

"Wow, it's amazing how easily you get new followers, and here I was thinking demons had honor or something."

Covering the huge grin on his face with the fan, Asahiko verbally bashes both Naraku by calling him a "demi-demon" and the young girl by bashing her honor or pride.

"Just as proud as the previous owner of that sword, now hand it over or face the consequences!"

Pointing at Clouded Fang with her pale hand, the young girl threatens Asahiko, while on the other hand, the bees start to gather in the surroundings, as if they are observing the conflict that is about to happen.

"So you recognize my weapon, as well as the previous owner... Well, I guess your trouble originated from Inuyasha and Sesshōmaru."

"Hump, Sister will take care of Inu no Taisho's children, now die!"

Shouting at the end of her words, she waves her arms and from both hair ornaments sharp petals shoot out. They were fast, clearly magical, but Asahiko is not to be trifled with and creates a wave of fiery flames with a forward fanning motion.

The wave of flames was high and wide, making it very difficult to dodge sideways, but she didn't dodge and darted inward wrapped in a cocoon of petals, managing to appear intact in front of Asahiko. It doesn't end there, as she makes a sword appear in each hand and the melee begins.

"Why don't you take the sword out of the scabbard!"

Yes, Asahiko has parried her attack by placing her weapon horizontally, but Clouded Fang still remains in its sheath.

"Good question, but too bad I don't have the answer. Now go!"

Putting even more force into the hand holding the sword, Asahiko makes an upward motion, sending her flying, then spins 360 instead and delivers a full-on kick to the chest armor.

Perhaps still not satisfied with that series of actions, Asahiko suddenly closes his fan and aims at the young woman's flying body. Flames gather around it, before forming spinning spikes that shoot out towards her.

*Boom* *Boom* *Boom* *Boom* *Boom* *Boom*

Luckily Asahiko's first blow had sent her out of the castle grounds, otherwise imagine the damage that barrage of flames would have caused.

"Hey, are you still alive down there! If so, make a sign or..."

In response to Asahiko's clear taunt, a huge X of pure energy is shot towards him, though he responds in kind, only with an even bigger one.

*Boom*

Asahiko's flames and the energy from the young girl's attack burst into a dazzling light, causing the surroundings to light up for a few moments and the temperature to rise a few degrees.

While that light show attracts attention, a large group of moths flies back to the wall and begins to take the form of the young girl, though it is quickly dispersed by an arrow from Kikyo.

"That was quick, are you done with your part, Kikyo?"

"I'm here for a reason."

Answering as if it was the most obvious thing in the world, Kikyo draws her bow again and stays pointed towards the place where the moths gather.

"Aghh, and here I am thinking that seeing me in danger you ran to save me. There go my feelings..."

"Shut up and die already!"

No longer enduring the circus Asahiko is putting on, so much so that she even lets out a few fake tears, the lavender-haired young woman takes a petal from her ornaments and blows it.

A captivating noise spreads in the surroundings, on the other hand and in response to this, the air around them distorts, making it possible to see some giant scorpions magically appearing.

"Wow this just got dangerous~"

"I'll cover you, take care of her quickly."

"At your command!"

Leaping from the walls into the open field which was where the moths could finally gather, Asahiko opens her fan while in the air and launches a cleansing bombardment, all thus clearing the area a bit.

Landing on the ground that is illuminated by the remains of the flames, by the pieces of burning scorpions and by the odd one that is still alive but on fire, Asahiko launches himself towards the nearby combat.

The noise of the clash between her and sheathed Clouded Fang's dual swords scatters nearby, while every scorpion that tries to interrupt the fight is cut down by Kikyo's accurate arrows.

"Damn you fox, die!"

Gaining distance after a new clash between them, the young girl squeezes the dual blades hard and delivering several slashes into the air, a new amount of energetic X-shaped cuts are launched towards Asahiko.

She doesn't end there with her attacks, as with a nod of her head, multiple petals shoot out towards Kikyo, managing to stop her from attacking the scorpions and they are able to launch an attack from behind Asahiko's back.

"No thanks, why don't you~"

Keeping his composure despite being surrounded by enemies from both the front and back, Asahiko lifts Clouded Fang into the sky and swiftly pins it to the ground.

Orange flames emerge from the cracks created by Clouded Fang's impact, then these flames glow with more ferocity and in a few moments a pillar of fire rises into the sky, eliminating the encirclement around Asahiko.

Noticing that the battlefield is now clear, Kikyo fires several arrows in rapid succession at the lavender-haired girl, leaving her in a critical situation with no escape.

"Sister, Hari!"

Appearing in a flash of multiple moths, a young woman this time with short dark blue hair, purple eyes and white skin, makes her appearance. She carries a spear which she uses to disperse arrows and a costume with darker shades.

"Ruri, hadn't the master sent you to steal the weapon of Inu no Taisho's eldest son?"

Slowly catching her breath, Hari maintains a proud expression despite how bad her situation is and communicates with Ruri.

"I tried... But the important thing is that the information that disgusting half-demon gave was true, Sesshōmaru's sword is not capable of destroying that seal."

"So it has to be this one."

"Or the one called Steel Fang, Sister Hari."

Sounding defeated at first, Ruri recovers quickly and points out that her defeat is not truly important, before giving an important piece of information.

"Okay... Yes you're done, now it's time for round two!"

Erasing the pillar of flames that previously illuminated the night, Asahiko approaches Kikyo and prepares for the second round.
