Injustice Superman in Marvel

Chapter 97: We Must Believe in the Light

As Captain Marvel vanished, Tony sighed, uninterested in alien lives.

New York was gone, and his quantum research relied on backup equipment from Veronica Station.

His focus was on New York's casualties, comforting Earthlings, and arming them.

Reinstating the Superhero Registration Act, mass-producing Iron Man suits, and giving Earth cosmic-level defense was key!

Why could Wakanda have energy shields, but not Stark?

As for Captain Marvel's dead aliens and potential threats…

Even without provocation, Thanos attacked Earth.

Weakness invited danger.

Iron Man didn't believe appeasing aliens ensured safety—not his way.

At the crater's edge, Groot, unafraid of lightning, dragged Thor's electrified body to softer rock.

Groot and Rocket exchanged glances.

"I am Groot," Groot said.

Rocket shook his head.

"I'm no Asgardian. How would I know when he'll wake?"

"I am Groot," Groot insisted.

Rocket nodded.

"True, we wait.

But he's Thor. If he's not dead, he'll recover!"

As Rocket spoke, Groot's face fell.

"I am Groot?"

Rocket's expression darkened.

"You're right, you've grown, Groot.

If Thor wakes and goes after Superman, he'll die.

So, if he's impulsive…"

"I am Groot!!!"

"Yes, we must stop him!!!"

They high-fived, determined.

Elsewhere, Captain America discussed shelter with Black Panther.

"T'Challa!"

Rogers gestured to the pirates.

"America's in chaos. We need shelter in Wakanda until we clear Thanos' remnants."

"Of course!"

T'Challa agreed. Wakanda could handle it.

Valkyrie approached.

"New Asgard can take some. We have plenty of mead!"

"No!!!"

Rogers refused, imagining Thor's Asgardians and Quill's pirates together.

Especially with their drinking…

Disaster awaited.

Los Angeles remained unchanged.

Heisenberg lounged in the Starlight Bar, drinking with two girls, watching TV.

A trembling waiter refilled his glass and served honeyed bear paws.

Heisenberg praised the dish, but the waiter shook in fear.

Bored, Heisenberg asked the price.

"No charge!" the waiter stammered.

"Americans aren't that generous. How much?"

Heisenberg called to the corner.

Seventy people jumped up.

"I'll pay!"

"I have cash!"

"I'll pay, boss!"

"I'm the manager!"

"I'm LAPD! Let me!"

"Please, I have to pick up my daughter!"

The LAPD officer won, rushing to Heisenberg, handing over his wallet.

His eagerness made the girls laugh.

Heisenberg stared until the officer sweated.

"Learn your lesson. Don't rush to protect gangsters.

Use your authority wisely. It's your job."

"Yes, sir!"

Heisenberg waved him off.

The officer ran, but froze at the TV news.

"Breaking: The 'thug' who attacked this club is a superhero!

Watch his heroic acts in New York!"

The footage showed Heisenberg's battle: force fields, heat vision, ice breath.

The hostages stared, then at Heisenberg.

The TV hero was the man before them!

The newscaster continued,

"It's Superman! Why attack LA?

This exclusive club must hide darkness.

Superman, forgive our earlier misunderstanding!"

The broadcast cut off.

The girls stared, shocked.

"Is… is that you?"

"Yes. Not cool enough?"

Heisenberg smiled.

Their eyes sparkled.

"It's Superman! He saved us!"

"Comics are real! Believe in the light!"

(°_°)…

Heisenberg ruffled her hair.

"That's Ultraman. Believe in him."

He turned, ignoring them, toward the door.

The officer fled, missing a strange woman passing by.

He collapsed outside.

Three hundred officers rushed him to an ambulance.

Heisenberg watched Captain Marvel approach, furious.

"You did this?"

"Who else?"

"You're shameless. I'm ashamed for you!"

"And you decide how I use my power?"

Heisenberg gestured to the sofa.

"Sit. I'll share my bear paws."

"Hmph!"

She glared, towering over him.

"I planned to borrow the Stones to fix your mistakes.

Now, I have more to do."

She pointed to the hostages.

"Release them!"

Heisenberg smirked, pointing to the sofa.

"I said, sit!"
