Inheriting a Lost Bloodline, My First Task is to have heirs?!

Chapter 335 - Rivals of the same fate

Laerad greeted Kayden as well and introduced himself again his own "polite" way. Husband number two looked quite nervous for some reason. I can feel the level of awkwardness this meeting has so I kept it short and focused on what information needed to be exchanged for it to be deemed enough and official.

I kissed Laerad goodbye and he replied with a cold "hmm". If he wasn't trying to be polite, he surely would have kicked Kayden and I out of the hut the first instance he saw us together.

We returned to the plaza in the palace gardens again through teleportation. I have my own beautiful gazebo in the middle of these gardens. I created it with my own hands the first time I arrived here. It was my idea of a perfect resting spot during an idle afternoon in the middle of spring.

Thinking that it should be a relatively calming spot, I chose it as the meeting place for the next official meet and greet. I have already told my four arranged fiancés that they will meet with me and my second official husband here. I hope the ambience helps with this needed but very stressful meeting.

Kayden and I walked hand in hand leisurely across the wide palace gardens. I am trying to keep my cool although my head has already ran different scenarios and not surprisingly enough, none of them ended up fine.

Since it was no use worrying about it, I simply looked around the palace gardens that has become increasing more exquisite and lively as months went by. I am quite impressed as to how Samir was able to grow such a wide range of beautiful flowers even if the skies here in Eieneos are always in eternal dusk.

Most plants need light and warmth from the Soleia (sun) to grow and flourish. Sadly, we don't have it here in Eieneos even from the time I first opened this realm. He must be doing some magic spells that only his bloodline knows to make it possible.

It was a good thing that the Flynn guy is awake. He should be able to do something about it.

After a quarter of an hour, the nervous Kayden and the already numb me have finally arrived at the the designated meeting place, my beautiful gazebo. From afar, I could already see that there were already four people with distinct hair colors seated in the gazebo waiting for us. By the looks of it, they have spent this wait in utter silence. This is definitely not a good start.

We quietly approached the area and it was Samir who first looked back to our direction. I gave him a polite smile and he nodded back to me as a response. I saw his lips move, seemingly saying something to the others. Afterwards, they all straightened their clothes and sitting positions in preparation for the meeting.

When we arrived, the four guys were all looking relaxed and have already prepared cordial smiles on their faces. They all introduced themselves to Kayden like how normal people who have met for the first time did it. It was the best start I could hope for. At least they were civil to each other but after the introduction, there was utter silence tgat stretched for several minutes.

I coughed to break the sudden silence and had to tell Kayden another chunk of truth regarding my situation which he is technically now a part of. I looked at him eye to eye and admitted that these four are actually my fiancés and were arranged for me by my parents even before I appeared in this world.

I heard a relieved sigh then a chuckle from Altair but I simply ignored him for now. As for Kayden, he just looked at me in disbelief then his eyes turned into slits.

After a few seconds he smiled at me, not the understanding one. It was the menacing one that he makes when he is thinking on how to take revenge. The other four just watched the drama unfold except for Altair that actually couldn't help but laugh out loud.

Kayden's head snapped towards Altair's direction and just stared at him with a raised eyebrow. Altair smiled at him in amusement and declared, "You see, the feeling you have right now towards us... it's mutual. Don't act like you are the only one aggrieved here. You are officially added to her family. We are still waiting up to now and you are the one who looks like you are about to die of jealousy."

I slowly turned my head to Altair's direction and stared at him for a few seconds. He looked back at me, still with that annoying smirk and knowing look in his eyes.

Sure, I could have been angry. I could have defended Kayden's feelings but it is what it. The truth hurts most of the time.

I was brought in this world in exchange for fulfilling a mission and getting these four as part of the package. It is not like I can just avoid them or kick them out. I don't particularly like them enough to make them my husbands but I don't hate them as well. Honestly, I am just keeping things beneficial for everyone by keeping the status quo.

Kayden laughed sarcastically and replied, "I am not jealous though? You shouldn't worry too much. If you stay useful, this woman will keep you around for good. If she touches you just once, she'll surely take responsibility for you. Good luck everyone!"

I looked at Kayden and laughed out loud. This guy really doesn't take sarcastic comments lying down and will always have his revenge one way or another. Is he actually telling these four to be more useful so they will be worth my attention?

As my laughter echoed throughout the garden, the four guys looked at me in disbelief with a mix of an attempt to confirm the truth of what Kayden said. I looked back at the four of them and answered, "Well, everything he said was true. I really don't keep useless men around me regardless of race. I have also never abandoned any man I have touched since I came to this world. I may not be able to give equal attention but I keep contact with them unless they don't want to be with me at all. He just missed the part that I do not accept every man that comes my way though."

Samir, Luxiel and Touya looked at each other and I saw some fierceness in their eyes as if they see each other as competitors. As for Altair, he simply continued drinking his tea as if he expected whatever I said. If you think about it though, I did tell him I am not fond of keeping useless people during our first meeting.

Since I've said my piece and I don't think there is anything else they need to say to each other that will not end up with them arguing, I bid my goodbyes to the guys and excused myself and Kayden so we can go back to the palace. Upon hearing this, Altair was the first one to teleport away after saying he's going back to his territory. The next one to leave was Touya after giving a polite nod and then Luxiel after giving a silly smile and an exaggerated bow towards me.

As of this moment, only Samir was left and he simply looked at me with a helpless smile. As if reading what's on my mind, he simply said nonchalantly, "Those four are quite a prideful bunch. I have assigned them rooms that they can use in the palace but they are delaying on using it. They said that they would only sleep inside the palace if they have already received the right to do so."

Samir then gave a polite bow and teleported away as well. I held Kayden's hand again and pulled him back through the palace gardens and then inside the palace. He was quiet throughout the way and I understand that it must be the shock of knowing more of the truth about my situation. It doesn't help how blunt Altair was talking about everything too.

Once we are inside the palace, Kayden suddenly stopped walking. I had to stop too and looked back at him in confusion. He stared at me for a while then asked, "Is there anything else I need to know about?"

I smiled at him helplessly and responded, "That's about it. I am quite honest about having other men outside. I also told you about my other children that are about to be born. There is nothing left to to tell you and Ioannis about."

He nodded his head firmly once then he stared at me again as if thinking about something complicated and if it was okay to tell me about it or not. I raised an eyebrow and Kayden eventually sighed. He asked, "Is that Altair always like that? Do you really have to keep him?"

I couldn't help but chuckle at Kayden's obvious distress regarding Altair's blunt and borderline aggressive way of speaking. I saw him scowl and before any drama can ensue, I replied, "You just have to get used to it since he will eventually be handling the family affairs especially issues between husbands. You are not the only one he treats that way so he is not angry at you or anything. He speaks like that to everyone except towards me and my parents."

Kayden's eyes widened as he listened to my explanation. He eventually chuckled as well then when he couldn't keep it anymore, it became full blown laughter.

He muttered in between chuckles, "I am really excited on how he will handle the conflicting personalities of everyone. I have always considered Ioannis the best one in terms of personality and patience but you still ended up fighting with him. I am not going to say that I have the best personality too but Lark and then that prince you picked up recently were worse than me. Damn, this is so exciting!"
