Inheriting a Lost Bloodline, My First Task is to have heirs?!

Chapter 305 - The aftermath with a touch of chaos

About half an hour before Luna went back to Marahuyo, as she promised the guards, she stayed seated in the middle of the plaza while waiting for her "supposed" slaves to come back. About five minutes into waiting though, she remembered that the guy she sent away was not able to take anything he owned with him. She decided to call one of the guards to ask for assistance.

Luna asked, "Excuse me, Mr. Guard. Remember that rude guy I bought? That guard from the front gate? I sent him away to help the injured ones. Can you bring me to his room at the barracks. I have no choice but to pack up his things."

The two guards that were assigned to me looked at each other in confusion but seemingly remembering that Destine, my guide, was always giving me whatever I asked for, they reluctantly nodded their heads. One of them guided me to the barracks of the guards and soldiers.

It took only about a five minute walk to get to the barracks. As I looked around curiously, I noticed that it is only slightly better than how Izvratya looked like. I guess being a guard or a soldier does not elevate one's status in this place that much.

We passed by several huts instead of the buildings that I expected. Well, that was how the barracks looked like in Hoffen City so I thought it would be the same here. We stopped at a hut around the middle area of the camp.

The doors and the even the windows seemed to be locked tight. I raised my hand to stop the guard from trying to kick down the door and said, "I can do it on my own. You can just wait outside."

Before we even stopped by the door, I already smelled a hint of herbs from the hut. It is fully closed but the scent has still seeped out through the tiny gaps between the planks that made out the hut.

The guard stood outside, about three steps away from the door and faced away from the hut to give me privacy. I placed a barrier around the hut to ensure that any scent won't come out when I open the door and the guard won't peek in inside as well.

After the barrier is up, I simply used my strength to push the door open and I heard the sound of some mechanism breaking from the other side of the door. When I walked in, I saw a little boy trembling in one corner of the hut with bandages around his head and one of his legs. Was that guard healing up some of the injured beast men?

I looked around at the things inside the hut and what I can say was it was very minimalist in design. There was a single bed, a table, a chair and two shelves. There was a simple kitchen with a small stove, a few cooking utensils and ingredients on the counter. One of the shelf was filled with some books while the other one has a few bottles filled with different colored liquids and dried herbs.

After observing for a while, I approached the injured and shaking child slowly. He looked up slowly with tears in his eyes and asked, "What did you do to Brother Cyler? Did you kill him?"

As I stared at the child's face, I remembered that he is one of the children in the plaza earlier. He was one of the ones I chose. I smiled at him and replied, "He is fine. I just sent him to the sanctuary first since he is so noisy. What's your name?"

The child looked stunned for a while then he wiped his tears. He then gave me a smile and asked, "My name is Tim. Thank you for not hurting him even if he said too much. He is indeed kind of noisy at times. I went here to pack up our things. I don't have parents so I live with Brother Cyler here."

I nodded my head and asked him to pack up the most important things in the hut while I have another bag to pack up everything else. The boy started on storing all of the clothes, the things in the shelves and then he suddenly opened a hidden compartment under the hut. It seems to have been secretly dug by the two of them after they started living here. It is filled with boxes that I do not know what was inside it.

As for me, I took the bed, the two empty shelves, table and chair as well as everything that is left in the kitchen after the little kid packed up the food. I secretly filled the hole that they dug and sealed it to be on the safe side. After I have packed everything, I looked back and saw the child standing at one side waiting for me.

I smiled at him and asked, "Did we forget anything? Is there anything else we need to pack?" The child simply shook his head.

I kneeled down to look at him at the eye level and said, "After I go out that door and leave with that guard outside, wait for about a minute before saying the magic word, okay?" He nodded again with excitement in his eyes.

I smiled at the kid and walked leisurely outside the hut and signaled the guard that it was time to leave. I set the barrier to dissipate once the kid inside leaves. I walked away at a normal pace but bigger steps this time. I checked with my senses discreetly if most of the people are out and so far more than half have left. Out of the 64 that I have chosen, only a dozen people remained. The kid in Cyler's house have left as well after we reached a certain distance.

As I reached the plaza, I saw one of the guards running across it. He seemed to be in a hurry to get to the main hall of the sanctuary. I smirked at how fearful the guard looked. I guess the news about Izvratya is here. It would take some time for this bunch to reach the village and by that time, I am sure that everyone have already left safely.

I sat on the seat where I was sitting earlier and just waited quietly. After a few more minutes, I saw Destine and two other middle aged men as well as about a dozen of mean-looking guards running across the plaza. This time they seem to be heading towards the direction of the main gates. I felt a piercing look coming my way but I simply ignored it and kept staring forward seemingly bored, giving the feeling that as if nothing around me mattered.

They passed by me quickly. The three guards that were stationed near the plaza were called by one of the leaders and was given instructions. Two of them went towards the main gate while one of them remained near me. Though they whispered amongst themselves, I heared clearly that the instruction was not to let the slaves and me out of the sanctuary until they were back and just in case we fought back, beat us up until we can't move. Are they trying to trick me too, even though I have already paid for all these "supposed" slaves?

I simply played with my hair like I did not hear any of the treacherous instructions that were provided. Seemingly hearing the commotions at the gates and the plaza, the last 12 beast men I was waiting for to leave were teleporting out of the sanctuary one after the other. They must have been done packing everything they own and after hearing the commotions, feared that we might have been discovered.

As the last person left, I breathed a sigh of relief but it must have sounded like impatience to the guard nearby. He looked back at me and this time, he stood much closer to where I was seated. He was watching me closely, making sure I do not have the chance to leave. He was also looking around the plaza as if wondering why none of the "supposed" slaves I bought have come back yet.

I heard the guard scoff and murmur, "The useless bunch must have a hard time carrying their trash back in the plaza." He then resumed to staring at me intently.

I looked at him and started a little staring contest for fun. I gave him a deliberate evil smirk and he was the first to look away. He must have remembered that I was acting like I have something wrong in my head earlier. As he looked away, I floated up several feet above the ground while placing an invisibility and stealth barrier around me.

As the guard looked back towards where I was seated, he froze and paled instantly as he saw that I was not there. He immediately ran towards the living areas. I followed him from where I was floating to see how much commotion this would create. He must be trying to check the "supposed" slaves that I sent out to get their belongings. As he ran, he passed by some other guards and told them the issue at hand.

The lone guard now have 4 more others behind him. They went to the houses of the people that were chosen by me and when they checked inside there were nobody inside. They also noticed that the houses, farm lands and even the animal sheds were empty. They were so clean as if nobody lived there, as if they were just built. This was the case for all the houses they visited.

They then ran towards the main hall where the leaders were. I can hear shouting and things being thrown angrily to the ground with a crash. The guards then ran out as if scared for their lives. A woman walked out briskly from the hall and she looked seething.

I flicked a contagious curse towards her that will cause her excruciating pain whenever she thinks evil thoughts and plans to harm others. Just after I did, I heard the woman scream as she fell to the ground squirming in pain. It would have been better if all the people that she had hurt before can see this. I hope she meets all the people she is in cohorts with soon so that the curse would spread to those that deserve it.

Since my tasks are done and everybody have left, teleported back to Marahuyo after making sure the curse is in place. I smiled beautifully though nobody can see it as of the moment.
