Inheriting a Lost Bloodline, My First Task is to have heirs?!

Chapter 254 - Negotiations at Zanahavre (Part 1)

I ended up energetically preparing a lot of dishes, snacks, desserts, baked items and beverages for the people in Kama. Most of it were in ready-to-eat packages and in a single serving size while others needed to be heated up before eating. I made so much that this should be enough for at least a month I think. Teasing these three just gave me a lot of energy to work.

After the filling meal that everybody worked on, I energetically bid all of the people goodbye after stealing a kiss each from Galen's, Kyros' and Arsenti's lips, leaving the three blushing and looking away. I smirked then teleported straight to an area half a kilometer away from the hidden sanctuary of the fairies, Zanahavre.

I appeared in the middle of a forest clearing. I closed my eyes and spread my mana sense up to an area of 5 kilometers around where I am standing. There wasn't much besides trees and animals, not a human or mystique nearby. My senses rebounded off of the barrier erected around Zanahavre so I couldn't check how many beings are currently living inside it.

I walked leisurely towards the direction where the border of Zanahavre was, just enjoying the view, picking herbs and samples of other plant types here and there as well as recording it in my little booklet. At about 100 meters away from the border, I felt mana coming in contact to my personal barrier which means I am officially under surveillance by the fairies. It must be their guards who have detected my presence.

Now here comes the question, do I want to appear friendly or should I come with overwhelming mana to scare them off? Honestly, either way works fine with me and it's not like their barrier can stop me from entering the sanctuary.

I am not in a hurry to negotiate or anything. I just want to scan the whole area of the sanctuary first so Laerad can make last minute changes or improvements in the new Zanahavre we created inside the world tree realm. It will make their eventual move to the new place easier and the lives of those who are willing to move, hassle-free.

Around 50 meters before the sanctuary's barrier, 2 fairy guards suddenly appeared a few meters in front of me. Compared to the normal fairy, they are on the bulkier and taller side. Don't get me wrong! They are all still as tiny and cute as Tinkerbell on a normal day. It is just that they have the ability to enlarge themselves with mana as needed so as not to appear too small and weak in front of other races.

They walked towards me and talked in broken human language, "Humans. Off limits. Go back. We punish you. No walk forward." I simply smiled at them but still continued walking. I then responded in mystique language, "Tesso dosst ventash'ma foluss dal Eieneos zhah ghil." (Tell your leader, someone from Eieneos is here.)

The two guards were stunned stiff as they clearly heard and understood what I just said. After a few seconds, they looked at each other then both transformed back to their tiny forms and flew back into the barrier of their sanctuary in a hurry. As for me, I removed my human disguise and let the real amount of my mana flow out as I continued walking forward collecting my herbs until I reached and went through the barrier. Do they expect me to wait outside while they call for their leader?

Once I am inside the barrier, I saw a totally different world. I can only describe it as magical and colorful just like the fairy worlds I've read from books when I was still living on Earth. It looked like a huge garden full of beautiful flowers and lush trees. Each tree has a small and quaint tree house embedded in it.

I immediately spread my mana throughout the sanctuary to map the area. It only took me less than 5 minutes to have a detailed picture of the whole area and I sent everything I saw to Laerad for his reference. I started walking around like I was sight-seeing in a new tourist spot.

I am quite sure they felt the sudden surge in mana as I saw tiny multi-colored specks of light scurry away. They have tiny wings on their backs and they all hid inside their tree houses, seemingly fearing for their lives.

I felt a bit sad as I saw how they were tiny in size and quite few in number. The mana in this area is low too so they must be feeling weak. During my quick check a while ago, there were barely 400 of them in here. I just don't know if there are fairies living in other places or currently outside on missions that is. No wonder they were bullied and ended up choosing to isolate themselves from the other races in this hidden sanctuary.

There were some unique places as per the map that I recently created that I really wanted to check. Since I already have the map, I teleported directly to their highly protected field of flowers where fairies are born through life orbs inside flowers.

As I opened my eyes and looked around, I couldn't help but feel sadder. The field of flowers is quite desolate. There were just grass on most of the field and a few tiny flowers scattered around. There were only eight of them. I guess the curse affected them quite gravely too. With the amount of mana in this field, I think only a couple will survive if they were lucky and tenacious enough.

I secretly channeled mana into the very sparse flowers growing in the field until I see the buds look a bit livelier and bigger. After I'm done with the field, I can confidently say that these unborn fairies would do just fine from now on.

Almond Blossom, guardian of the Garden of Life

I had the greatest surprise of my existence as I felt a sudden surge of mana together with the appearance of a woman wearing a black dress with purple accents. She stood out in this territory full of colorful flowers and greenery.

She looked around at the garden of life, a sacred field of flowers where new fairies are born. It doesn't look much and my job isn't hard since I am only watching over those 8 children in there. I never thought a day will come that a trespasser will target this place.

I saw her place her hand on the ground and I clearly felt mystique mana traveling under the ground into the flowers. I was stunned! Is she helping out those children?

After she's done, she stood up slowly and I can clearly see that the flowers were livelier and they matured quite a bit as their sizes grew. I can feel their life essences have become stronger and I just knew in my gut that they will be born safely in a few weeks.

I was too focused on checking the babies from my hiding place that when I looked back at the woman, she was gone. I did not even see her face since she's looking downwards and was wearing a hood. Where could have she gone?

Wait. She was still a trespasser. I have to find someone to guard the field temporarily and report this to my father king.

I turned around and teleported straight to the center of the territory where their tree of knowledge was. I reappeared right inside the said tree and started looking through their collection of books and documents which I found rather interesting and novel.

I stayed only a few minutes inside the area but I already made a copy of each and every document, book and other types of written knowledge inside and sent it over to Laerad for safekeeping. As payment, I cleaned the place up and fixed the books back to their new forms. I even casted preservation magic since the place looked like no ones been taking care of it. (A/N: There was someone caring for it but he's kind of lazy and prefers to just read. LOL) I left the tree of knowledge and teleported to my next destination on the map, the source of the enchanted river that flows right in the middle of this sanctuary.

Iris, guard of the Tree of Knowledge

I was silently reading in one corner of the library when I suddenly felt a strong surge of unfamiliar mana entering the tree. I stood up abruptly and cloaked myself in an illusion spell to make me invisible. These books are valuable but I have to know the enemy first than to waste my only life.

I tried to sense where it came from but as quickly as it came it mysteriously dissipated. I was about to release my spell when I heard the sound of the pages of a book being turned. I was alone on this place so what was that?

I silently walked towards the sound and saw a woman dressed in black and purple. She's definitely not a fairy and definitely not a welcomed visitor. Zanahavre has not welcomed outsiders for hundreds of years for safety reasons.

I saw her walk from one bookshelf to another, each shelf she passes becomes cleaner and the books morphing to their newly written forms. Was that time reverse magic? Why is she preserving our knowledge?

My curiousity was at its peak and I tried to walk closer to see her face but I got scared when she stopped walking at the last bookshelf. Did she hear me or felt my presence?

I couldn't help but close my eyes due to nervousness but I heard nothing afterwards

When I opened my eyes, she was gone. I blinked my eyes and looked around to find her. I even used my mana but she was nowhere to be found.

I hurriedly removed my illusion spell, ran out of the door and erected the barrier around the tree of knowledge to stop anyone from entering while I'm away. She was a "kind" intruder but still an unwelcomed visitor. I have to tell my father king about her.
