Infinite Wealth System: Crazy Tasks, Insane Rewards!

Chapter 150: Hero Harper

It didn't take long before Jayden heard about what happened. He was completely terrified at first, but unfortunately hadn't known that Becky was shot.

"Send thirty men and three helicopters. We have to find out who these terrorists are," Jayden told Harper, who immediately went into action.

The other ladies present in the house gathered around Jayden, all baffled as they hoped that Camilia and Becky were safe.

They tried calling their lines, but it unfortunately didn't go through, which left them more tense.

Jayden couldn't settle with the fact that his ladies could be helpless out there, afraid that something bad might happen to the extent of losing them.

In a moment, he couldn't hold the patience anymore, as he stood up and attempted to head out.

"I'm going after them," he said.

"No, you can't go, Jayden. It's not safe out there for you," Temi quickly walked up to him and said.

"The same way it's not safe for them, yet I let them go. Now let me go bring them back," Jayden said, his face completely serious like nothing would convince him to stay back.

"But you already sent men. I'm pretty sure Harper would bring them back," Temi replied, her face convincing.

Jayden still hesitated after that, his mind not leaving the fact that he had to go.

But then...

"They finally picked up! It's the driver's line," Charlotte shouted, drawing their attention as they all rushed towards her office.

There, Charlotte's screen was showing the clear map of the area they were in, and the call was also on.

"I was able to track them after they picked the call," Charlotte told them.

"Cammy, are you okay? Becky?" Jayden swiftly asked.

"Yes, I am, but Becky isn't... She was shot."

As that statement rang, Jayden's jaw dropped as he clenched his fist in frustration. The rest of the ladies also had their faces darkened at that, however...

There was only one figure who didn't let the emotions ruin her importance.

"Where was she shot? How bad is it?" Temi asked.

"She was shot in her left leg. I can't explain how bad it is, but she is bleeding a lot," Camilia said, her voice breaking as she was terrified.

"Hear me, Cammy. Just take a deep breath and listen to me. If Becky keeps bleeding, she is likely not to make it before you get here. She... she might die," Temi said.

The tension increased, as they all felt invisible punches in their bellies.

"No, she won't. Never. What should I do?" Camilia quickly objected.

"Good. Tear a big piece of cloth and cover the wound up. Make sure it's tight enough to reduce the bleeding," Temi said.

After that guide, Camilia appeared to have gone silent, as she didn't give a reply. What Charlotte was sure of was that the call was still online.

"Camilia? Camilia, are you there?"

Silence again, and it was getting ugly until...

"Oh my god... I think they are after us!" Camilia suddenly voiced from the other end.

"Shit!" Charlotte cursed, as she clearly noticed the car right on the map.

"They are shooting at us!" Camilia added.

Now, the bad thing was that these assassins were chasing after them, but there was also a good thing...

The Orion V, which they were in, had 100% resistance to bullets.

Back when Jayden had used this same car when he was attacked, no bullet shot by the assassin ever penetrated the car. Not even one...

And today, there was likely to be no change to that, but even after getting shot repeatedly, Camilia never told them that it was penetrating.

"Okay, that's good news. It's the Orion V. Thank goodness you picked it of all SUVs," Charlotte said.

"Now concentrate on stopping the bleeding on Becky. We sent a rescue team; they will be there in no time," Temi then said.

Charlotte quickly contacted Harper, who was already in the air.

Jayden had initially told her to send a team, but she decided to go with them.

...

When she got the call from Charlotte, she already knew it was time.

"Found their location. The bad news is that they are being followed. You have to save them before it's too late... Camilia said Becky was shot," Charlotte told Harper.

Stunned yet angered, Harper told the men to fly towards their direction after Charlotte forwarded the location to her device.

Three helicopters soared towards the Wethland Highway, but it would take approximately two to three minutes before they could arrive there.

Harper only wished she would be there before it was too late. The last thing she wanted to experience was for Camilia to die, with even Becky's probability being high.

Turning to the pilots, she couldn't help but shout, "Faster!"

....

More gunshots rained on the car, but all they could hear was just the sound, which the quality of the Orion V coverings had reduced to a comfortable, normal loud sound.

Camilia hastened up in wrapping Becky's leg, making sure to make it as tight as instructed.

Fortunately for her, she passed that test, but at one point, she realized she was going from problem to another.

"Arghhh..."

Becky appeared completely weak as she moaned in pain, as it was as if she was going to pass out, or even die.

She didn't want to think about that, but it was already looking like an alarming fact.

Camilia quickly helped Becky up, positioning her well on her lap as she fed her some air.

"Stay with me, Becky. Please, stay with me..." Camilia said, her voice in a complete crack, faint.

Jayden and the rest of the other ladies were online too, hearing every damned thing that was happening.

They all had their mouths zipped, their eyes dark, as if this was going to be a hell of a drastic nightmare.

Soon, while Camilia was still trying to help Becky, two bikes suddenly approached both sides of the car.

The riders had some opening tools, so expertised that they could drive while they tried to open the doors with the tools.

They seemed to have clearly noticed that the bullets would never penetrate even if they shot forever, and had decided to make a change of plans.

Whatever it was, this was definitely the time they needed the rescue team.

"They are going to pull it off!" Camilia shouted, panicking.

At this point, her fear was like no other, as she really saw a possible death right in her eyes.

...

Everywhere was tense, as they waited for Harper and her crew.

Moments passed, and there were still no signs of them, and it was already becoming hopeless.

Jayden figured it was high time he made a move, but then, he realized that he wouldn't even make it closer than Harper.

Going now was just acting stupid.

Trying to pull off the doors was no easy feat, but in a matter of considerable seconds, the first door, that side where Camilia was, made its crack.

That was a sign that she was in trouble, as she already began sobbing, fearing for her life.

KRACK-KAK!

Another crack, and it was only a matter of a few seconds before they succeeded.

The door was halfway out, despite the driver still speeding up.

Camilia closed her eyes, already trying to accept whatever might happen here.

KRACK-KAK!

It felt over...

It felt like she was going to die the hardest way possible, here with Becky who probably had no idea what was going on.

"I... I wish I could just kiss him one more time before I die," Camilia muttered under her breath, her eyes filled with tears.

That moment when she lost complete hope...

That moment when she believed it was over...

That moment when she realized she would never see the love of her life again...

KA-KA-KA-KA-KA-KA-KA!

KA-KA-KA-KA-KA-KA-KA!

KA-BOOM!

Rains of gunshots and perhaps grenades caused a stir in the scene.

Due to the destroyed sound-reducing system, the sound was as loud as possible, making Camilia wrap her eyes.

The gunfire continued for what looked like eternity, as even the driver had to stop the car.

After quite a moment, the sound subsided, and everywhere was calm again.

The bikers trying to pull the doors were all down, the chasing car completely blown away. It was a mess right behind, but the good thing was that this mess was made for their safety.

"Harper came through," Camilia said as she sighed, a look of absolute relief on her face.

Soon, some men approached them at the car, including Harper, who gave her a deep hug.

"Are you okay, Cammy?" Harper asked.

Camilia nodded faintly. "Thank you, Harper. You saved our lives," Camilia said.

"It's what I do," Harper smiled. "Come on, I'll give you a hand."

Camilia and Becky were helped into one of the helicopters, as they flew back to the island, where Jayden and the rest were patiently waiting for them.

...

Jayden was deeply relieved after Harper miraculously showed up. His happiness couldn't be expressed, as he just couldn't wait to give her a kiss of gratitude.

This wasn't the first time she was saving one of them. It wasn't even the second.

At this point, she could best be described as Hero Harper.
