Chapter 132: Revelation: Fourth Bloodline Unlocked
Sunny watched as Draco turned and ran away, a flash of something unreadable on his face.
"What was that?" he asked, his voice laced with confusion.
"I don't know," Draco sighed, a tired wave of his hand causing their surroundings to ripple and distort.
_
The two reappeared in a new reality, standing before the grand, imposing facade of a castle. The air was heavy with a palpable sense of despair. The courtyard was a sea of people, their faces pale and drawn, their expressions a mixture of sadness, shock, and disbelief. They stood, a silent congregation, staring at the motionless forms of the King and Queen, their bodies lying still and lifeless.
Standing before the bodies was Vancouver, his once pristine armor now stained with blood, his entire frame trembling with a profound, consuming sorrow.
BAM!
A thunderous sound from the main gate shattered the oppressive silence. Everyone's head turned in unison as Draco burst through, his movement a desperate rush. The moment his eyes fell upon the scene, his pace slowed. The desperate energy bled out of him, replaced by a slow, deliberate walk.
He moved through the crowd, his gaze fixed on the bodies of his parents. He walked past them, his footsteps measured and heavy, and came to a stop in front of Vancouver.
"What happened?!" he demanded, his voice cold and sharp, devoid of any warmth.
"Where are Olivia and Miami?"
Vancouver's shoulders slumped. He remained silent, unable to utter a single word in the face of Draco's icy interrogation.
"Okay... what happened to them?" Draco asked again, his tone softening slightly, a flicker of something akin to pleading in his eyes.
Vancouver's composure finally broke. He dropped to his knees, crying before his nephew.
"I... I am so sorry! We underestimated our enemy! I only managed to bring back their bodies!" he sobbed, tears streaking his blood-smeared face. "I am so sorry!!"
Sunny watched the scene in a stunned, helpless silence, his mind a jumble of emotions. He didn't know what to say or do. He turned his gaze to Draco, wondering what he must be feeling, knowing this was a memory that he was forced to witness over and over again.
"I was wrong," Sunny finally said, his voice barely a whisper.
"About what?" Draco turned to him, a confused expression on his face.
"About calling you a pathetic pig."
Draco's lips quirked into a sad, knowing chuckle. "After some of my choices, I think I deserve the name," he said, as the surroundings once again dissolved and reformed.
__
Sunny moved his gaze around the new space: a huge, ornate hall. His eyes settled on two figures seated opposite each other at a large, polished table.
"Are you sure about this?" Vancouver asked, his dark gaze fixed on Draco, a look of deep concern etched on his face.
"Yes... my parents died yesterday. I need to know who Lester Blood is; that is the only way to have my revenge!" Draco's voice was sharp and cold.
Vancouver exhaled softly, the sound a release of pent-up tension.
"I don't know who he is... but I do know he has the power to control the whole Wendigos' army... even the Wendigos' King is under his command."
Draco and Sunny were stunned into silence by the revelation. The sheer scale of the enemy was incomprehensible.
"Yes... that is the truth," Vancouver continued, his voice a grim monotone:
"I don't know who Lester Blood is... We only knew the Wendigos' King would be visiting, so we formed a group of special people and attacked... The Wendigos' King was just too powerful, and we were outnumbered and out-strength... In the chaos of the battle, we lost Olivia and the rest... I don't know if they made it," he said, his fists clenching at the memory.
"What about Olivia's family, the Falcon family?" Draco asked, his voice low.
"I don't know, they disappeared last night... All contact has been cut off," Vancouver answered, his gaze distant.
Draco nodded, his mind a whirlwind of countless thoughts and the warnings from the lights replaying in his head. His gaze became distant, lost in contemplation.
"Don't worry, nothing will happen to you, I will make sure of that," Vancouver said, looking up at him, a fierce protective streak in his eyes.
"I promised your mother that! And I'll die protecting you!" he added.
Draco simply nodded his head, stood up, and walked away. He had gained nothing concrete about Lester Blood, only that this person possessed the terrifying ability to command the entire Wendigo army.
"What more can he do?!" he muttered to himself, the question a desperate plea as he walked out of the hall.
"This is the day I made my decision... The moment I stepped out of that door, I permanently shut down my cosmic brain and destroyed my core; then married Matilda... I separated myself from all court duties and simply left everything to Matilda and Joshua... Even knowing they'll kill me, I still go with the light's words and do as she pleases," Draco said, his voice echoing in the darkness.
Sunny looked around, finding himself and Draco back in the familiar, dark void. He turned to face him.
"Back then, I didn't understand what I was doing, but now... I do," Draco smiled, a sad, knowing curve to his lips.
"Whoever the light was, he or she knew I couldn't bring myself to kill Matilda... I truly love her. So I had to go... The moment my time was up, the system brought you in to do what I can't do... to save this world from Lester Blood, whoever he or she is," Draco added.
"Why me?" Sunny pointed out, the question a profound ache in his chest. "I have asked myself this question, why did the system choose me? I am just a lowlife man who has nothing."
"You are wrong," Draco said, his voice firm and unwavering.
"You have more than everyone in this world. Set your mind straight and accept who you are... Forget about your world and take everything seriously, move with caution and strike with a killing blow... Never give your enemy a chance to get back up... Make sure to leave no leverage behind! None! Make sure your subordinates and family have the power to protect themselves! Make sure they never drag you down! That's the only way you can survive!! I am giving you an advice: Don't keep them behind or before you, keep them beside you! Let them fight with you... You must protect this world."
Sunny nodded, a new resolve hardening in his eyes. "I will..." he said, the promise a solemn vow.
"Good... The moment you go back, all my memories will be unlocked," Draco nodded, a gentle smile on his face.
"One more question," Sunny said, a sense of urgency in his voice as Draco began to shimmer, his form breaking into countless light particles.
"What is that?" he asked.
"Are there more worlds out there?" Sunny asked, his curiosity overriding his fear.
"I only know about two," Draco said, his voice a fading whisper.
"Our world is known as the lower world... Above it is the upper world, then the Great world... I don't know if there are others, but this information should be enough."
Sunny nodded. "Thank you, again."
"No need to thank me, we are one after all... I only want two things: save this world and kill that fool called Lester!" Draco said, his form now nothing more than a cascade of brilliant light particles that flew towards Sunny, enveloping him, and entering his very being.
_____
BOOM!!!!
A powerful, resonant boom echoed in Sunny's mind, a sound that shook him to his core. His eyes snapped open, his vision blurry, as the system's voice sounded in his head.
{Congratulations!! Master has broken through to the Demi-god rank!!}
{Gained five hundred trillion personal money.}
Sunny exhaled slowly, the magnitude of the system's words sinking in, but it wasn't done.
{Congratulations!! Fourth Bloodline has been unlocked.}
{Bloodline: Basilisk.}
"Huh?" Sunny was completely stunned, a wave of confusion washing over him. This was not something he had ever anticipated.
{Starting fusion process.}
A searing pain, a familiar agony he had come to dread, began to course through his body. He closed his eyes, bracing himself for the next wave, a grim acceptance of what was to come.
