Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix

Chapter 602: Agreement

Rain was astonished… he didn't think that dragons could evolve that much and they had such variety… Still, what would they do after that? Since they weren't roaming the world and showing their Power, they should have some sort of activity. They couldn't be that lazy to think that after evolving, they didn't have to prove anything else to anyone.

Rain looked at Isa, wondering if he should ask her more about it, but that was a very valuable piece of information… if she were to reveal such a thing from him, he would feel suspicious.

Aside from that, Rain heard that the dragon god was a nine-headed hydra… could all dragons become that? It was also hard to imagine… but the legend says that all of the dragon gods had been nine-headed hydras.

"You can ask me anything. While I do have some loyalty toward them, it is only because I was raised by them," Isa said. "My father should have died a long time ago."

"You don't know for sure, then?" Rain asked.

"Yes," Isa explained.

Her father should have been quite the figure then… if Isa was thousands of years old, her farther should have been important since she inherited that much Vitality from him.

"What can you tell me about the dragon god?" Rain asked.

"We shouldn't talk about him… he has a spell that he knows the location of those who talk about him," Isa said. "Why do you think that I am the only one alive who doesn't live in their territory?"

That was convenient, but Rain decided not to pry further about that. Rain couldn't ask about how the dragons could evolve further since he could imagine that the dragon god was the only one who could do that and the one who could do that would challenge the current leader to take its place.

Isa explained that all dragons possessed inherent abilities, irrespective of their elemental type or alignment with the Seven Deadly Sins. Dragon Eyes: Dragons had exceptional visual capabilities, often endowed with the power to see over great distances, discern magical auras, and detect hidden truths.

Dragon's Breath: Dragons could exhale powerful elemental breath attacks, depending on their elemental alignment. Dragon's Rage: When provoked or angered, dragons could tap into their inner fury, boosting their physical strength and combat prowess, allowing them to unleash devastating attacks.

Shapeshifting: Most dragons possessed the innate ability to change their forms, allowing them to adapt to different situations or environments. They could transform into human or other creature-like appearances. Corrupt Constructs: By channeling the power of their sins, dragons could create weapons, constructs, or attacks without relying on traditional magic.

These constructs were highly potent and reflected the specific sin the dragon aligned with.

"Why are you telling me all of this?" Rain asked.

"The dragons only to disappear for a while before they are about to make a big move, which happened several times in the past," Isa said. "That is why I said you shouldn't keep that shield. They have items like that they guard like if their life mission and they exterminated those who had such items in the past. As such, I am telling you that you will become their target.

This is to increase your chances against them, even if it just a little."

"Do you know why?" Rain asked.

"That is a secret passed down from dragon god to dragon god," Isa shook her head.

That was a bit worrisome… but it couldn't be helped, it would be weird if Isa knew everything, unless she had become a dragon god herself at some point.

Rain wanted to ask when she left the dragons territory and when she joined the demi humans, but in the end, Rain decided to not ask that. Besides, Isa gave Rain one very long lesson about each type of the dragon and their strengths. She didn't teach him their weakness because those would be different for her and for a human.

In the end, Rain spent three days and nights learning from her nonstop. Rain didn't learn much about the demi human country and their territory, but Isa didn't want him to get involved with them yet.

"Using all of that I taught you, I am sure that you can come up with some useful techniques," Isa said. "You should return home already. You are sick and worried, and staying away for too long could give your enemies enough time to plan and attack the human country."

In the end, Rain wasn't disappointed that he didn't learn clear techniques… he was fully aware that he could come up with things by himself… even if he wasn't a dragon, there were many things that he could adapt and apply.

"Thank you for your help, I will do my best to repay the favor when I have the chance," Rain said. "I don't know how, though. But I will try to contact you soon."

"It would be better if you don't get involved with us so soon, but do as you wish," Isa said while nodding.

Rain nodded as well, and soon he left the area. Van was no longer around, so Rain headed to the beach while thinking of what he had learned… the nature of magic, the laws of that world and how things worked weren't that simple and Rain felt like he had only scratched the surface, but he sure had made a lot of progress with the knowledge alone.

Once Rain reached the beach, he began to fly as fast as possible and then eventually disappeared in the distance. Isa kept looking at him for a while since her vision was better than most. She also saw him when he was watching the area when he was almost out of the planet.

"I guess we barely made it," Isa said when she saw a group of guards coming from the middle of the county toward her home, she had been waiting for them.
