Chapter 1389: Solar dragons
Rain wondered what he could do in that situation… the most obvious solution would be to take the mana from the dragons, but that takes time. Using his doppelgangers will probably be the best option, but it wouldn't be the same as him with the ominous sword. Either way, they couldn't count on the energy of the facilities since it wasn't magical energy.
"We are heading anyway," Rain declared. "We are in the middle of their territory, so we can't afford to give them more time to find us before we achieve anything. I have already located the places where the portals will be cast. Give me your affirmation when all of the groups are ready."
Using Telekinesis, all the groups confirmed that. Technically, Rain was the leader of his own group, but he passed that responsibility to his wives since he could tell that he wouldn't have much time to look after the others once the enemies arrived.
Without wasting any time, he connected the portals to the pocket dimension, and then Rain also teleported to his destination. While Terra and the others were leaving a hole in the ground that was the portal, Rain took a look at the facility that was their target.
As Rain surveyed the facility, he was struck by its truly futuristic appearance. Every aspect of the structure seemed meticulously designed, composed entirely of sleek silver cubes that emitted a mesmerizing glow of energy. The uniformity of the design, coupled with the intense aura emanating from each component, lent an unmistakably advanced air to the entire complex.
In the distance, Rain's eyes caught sight of a colossal glass window, partially obscured by a network of intricate technological nets designed to capture and absorb the radiant energy emitted by the sun. The sight of it only reinforced the impression of sophisticated technology and purposeful design at work.
Despite the seemingly superficial nature of the facility's appearance, Rain couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to it than met the eye. Nevertheless, its significance was clear, and he knew that time was of the essence if they were to achieve their goals.
As such, Rain raised his arms and then slammed them on the ground with all his might… the whole structure shook, and his hands created massive round craters below everyone's feet. Fissures began to spread around like snakes in all directions… that was the power of Rain's current brute strength, and it was hard to imagine anyone surviving that.
However, the shaking ended quite fast… not only that, but the damage that he caused began to repair itself insanely fast as silver cubes began to glow more and more. Everyone was ready to join in the attack, and their hands were already ready to strike, but that shocked them completely.
"They are using the stored energy to repair the structure!" Seara shouted. "Attack everything to make them waste energy and look for any place where they might be storing the solar energy!"
Everyone nodded, and then all hell broke loose in that place. Everyone dashed and then punched and kicked the walls while they also used their magic to scorch, shock, and freeze everything around. Seara used the javelin to fire massive lightning bolts that danced in the area and burned the silver cubes, but soon they returned to normal.
Those who had gems on their weapons hit the ground, and that caused some extra damage, but the mana gems didn't absorb any energy… as expected, it wasn't mana that repaired the damage caused.
"... What are we going to do?" Terra asked after she approached with Danny, Annie, and Seara.
"Look for the power source of this facility and inform me of it," Rain said while looking at the sun. "Don't attack immediately. Something able to store so much energy could destroy the entire facility and kill all of us at the same time."
As the others nodded in understanding and swiftly departed, Rain remained behind, his gaze fixated on the distant sun. Suddenly, explosions erupted across its surface, visible even from the vast distance that separated them by millions of kilometers. Each detonation sent shockwaves rippling through the celestial body, a testament to the immense power involved.
Rain watched with a serious expression as the eruptions continued, a relentless barrage that seemed to emanate from various points on the sun's surface.
Then, as if in response to the chaos unfolding in the heart of the star, he noticed small objects hurtling through space toward the facility. Despite the immense distance, their trajectory was unmistakable, and Rain realized with a sinking feeling that they were heading straight for their location and from the sun…
"They are coming," Rain said and then used Remote Viewing.
It didn't take long for Rain to see the enemies completely… as expected, and they were a group of the same type of dragons that Rain fought many times on Earth, the new breed that was raised and grew stronger on the new generation of the planet. However, there were some differences…
Rain noticed distinct differences in the fire dragons approaching the facility. Gone were the familiar types like the Volcan Dragon, Elemental Dragon, Meteor Dragon, Explosive Dragon, Inferno Dragon, Mirage Dragon, and Dragon King Dragon. Instead, these were entirely new species, resembling fiery suns in the form of western dragons.
They soared through the void with remarkable speed, their radiant bodies emitting intense heat and light.
These creatures bore little resemblance to their predecessors. Their forms seemed to pulsate with internal energy, akin to miniature stars navigating the heavens. Their scales glowed with an otherworldly brilliance, casting an eerie glow across the landscape as they drew closer to the facility.
"We will meet them in space in order to avoid the others being engulfed in the chaos," Rain said and then summoned his doppelgangers and sent them to the other facilities. "Are you ready?"
Elisabetha was already completely enraged… unable to respond. Her anger took the form of the shadow that covered Rain's body, and soon, it propelled him to fly toward the beasts.
