Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix

Chapter 1366: Retreating

Rain didn't have a hard time turning the beast queen into a core, and he immediately went to check on her in his mental landscape when it was over. Although the dungeon was collapsing without her and without the others, the problem was solved when he teleported back to the previous layer.

"Do you remember me?" Rain asked. "I bet you do, considering how pissed you look like."

"... What do you want?" The beast queen asked. "I have nothing to talk to you."

"Not much, just wondering if you guys will want to fight alongside us," Rain said. "You can take your time talking with everyone else. If you make yourselves useful, you will have your life back, but if you refuse that, you will become my tools for as long as I live."

The Beast Queen found herself in a difficult position before Rain, vastly superior in strength, engaged her in conversation. Despite her initial confusion and wariness, she quickly grasped the stark reality of her situation: Rain wielded unimaginable power far beyond anything she had encountered before.

Within a mere couple of hours, Rain had subjugated all the creatures in the dungeon, including her, rendering her once dominion null and void.

As her clarity returned, the Beast Queen couldn't help but notice the profound changes that had transpired in the world around her. The absence of the dragons, once revered as the ultimate authority, was a glaring indication of the upheaval that had taken place. Sensing the shift in power dynamics, she realized that Rain harbored no intentions of utilizing others for mere exploitation.

Instead, his demeanor suggested a pragmatic determination to do whatever was necessary to achieve his goals.

Rain quickly left his mental landscape and then checked the progress he had made… thanks to the extra cores, his mana production speed increased by five percent. While producing the cores was easy, organizing them had been a massive pain in the ass, thanks to their numbers…

"I can use them as mana batteries, can use them as gems to enhance weapons with their physical skills, and there is my next secret technique…" Rain thought. "This is turning pretty good."

The end of the dungeon should alert the machine gods if they were watching Earth, so Rain decided not to do anything regarding the magic people yet, but he would have to do so eventually.

When Rain went to check with the others, he confirmed that a bunch of them had finished learning how to craft gems. Those who could use the runes as well had already equipped their weapons with runes and gems that could steal mana from their targets… which was bound to grant them almost three times more experience when leveling up their skills.

"The path system works that more than half of the mana of the defeated foes is turned to the planet, but how do things work on other planets?" Rain thought. "I guess it works in the same manner… and there is nothing the overseer can do about that since it is the basis of the system."

"Did something happen?" Terra asked. "You aren't scowling like usual."

"Not much," Rain replied, already imagining that everyone would get a bit angry if he told them that he went to the surface, even if he had good reasons to do so. "What is up?"

"It is Sealyn… she wobbled around a few times today," Terra said. "She said that it was thanks to the darkness and that she tripped, but she is a poor liar."

"Hmm… she is already at that stage, huh," Rain said while massaging his eyebrows.

"She shouldn't join the next missions," Terra said. "She won't be able to fight at her best anymore, and it will be disastrous if something happens to her. We won't be able to focus and keep our heads in the game, and we will lose morale as well; our entire army will."

Sealyn's condition was a significant challenge to her physical and mental well-being. Pregnancy inherently induces a series of physiological and hormonal changes in a woman's body, which can profoundly impact her overall health and functioning.

Physically, pregnancy places increased strain on various bodily systems, including the cardiovascular, respiratory, and musculoskeletal systems. The growing fetus exerts pressure on internal organs and tissues, leading to discomfort, fatigue, and decreased mobility.

Additionally, hormonal fluctuations during pregnancy can cause nausea, fatigue, and changes in appetite, further contributing to physical discomfort and limitations.

Furthermore, Sealyn's participation in combat missions would exacerbate the physical demands placed on her body. Engaging in strenuous activities, such as combat and physical exertion, could pose risks to both her and her unborn child. The heightened physical stress and potential for injury could compromise her health and jeopardize the safety of her pregnancy.

Mentally, pregnancy can also affect a woman's cognitive function, emotional well-being, and overall mental health. Hormonal changes during pregnancy can influence mood regulation, leading to mood swings, anxiety, and depression.

Additionally, the anticipation of impending motherhood and the responsibilities it entails can induce stress and apprehension, further impacting mental resilience and clarity.

Considering all that, Sealyn was still one of the best warriors of the group… considering that their goal was to keep decreasing the power of the enemies without losing their numbers, leaving her behind would be difficult. Still, Rain wanted to protect his family first and foremost… all the others were in the far second place…

"... I will talk to her," Rain said. "Although I am pretty sure it will be useless, we might be able to solve this in a different way."

"We can if we use the power of the seals, that way, someone will receive her powers, and as long as she lent them her relics, it will be the same as her being in the battle," Terra said. "The question is, who is the best person for that?"

"We already know that we all know it, but you guys didn't want to hurt my feelings," Rain said.
