Chapter 369: Just Marry Me...
Sensing Exisia's intense stare, Cassius took a better look at her.
She had long blondish-white hair and dark golden eyes that glowed mesmerizingly. Moreover, her figure was very well-rounded—not too much here, not too much there. It was just the right amount of voluptuousness everywhere one looked. Wearing a pair of brownish-green robes, her curves were further accentuated by the tightness the clothes offered. In between her bosom, a good bit of skin could be seen peeking, adding to the allure she possessed.
However, with a shining golden-tendril'ed sword hanging by her waist, very few could overlook the danger she exhibited in favor of ogling her body.
"Is there something I can do for you?" asked Cassius as he stopped Yimin and Maxy from growling at the Angel woman.
"...."
Emotionlessly glancing at the two ferocious dragon girls, Exisia revealed a slight frown.
Shifting her focus back to the confused Cassius, she said, "My name is Exisia."
"...Okay…? Is that all…?"
Going silent, Exisia's lips pursed. "Do you not know who I am?"
"I'm afraid I don't," replied Cassius, shaking his head. "But if you need something from me, then feel free to shoot your shot. As long as it's nothing too excessive, I can—"
"Marry me?"
Silence…
"T-Thieving b*tch!! Grrrr!!" Yimin exploded like a volcano, her aura massively expanding. "YIMINS WILL KILL YOU!!"
Stopping her claw-rush with a single finger, Cassius said to Exisia, "Why is it that you ask something like that? Perhaps your tongue slipped."
Denying his assumption right away, Exisia said, "No. I want you to marry me. So will you?"
Her die-hard fans had their jaws drop to the floor. Though, after they got past the initial surprise, they were immediately overcome with astronomical levels of anger. Staring daggers at Cassius, they were like a pack of wolves just waiting for the opportunity to pounce.
But with their threat level no different from that of gnats to Cassius, he continued registering what he had just heard. His frozen lips finally moved:
"Is there any particular reason why you want to be my betrothed—"
"You're pretty."
The answer was instantaneous! And hella shameless!
Awkwardly laughing, Cassius firmly denied her offer. He then resumed his stroll, deciding it to be too much trouble to add another divinely beautiful woman to his agenda.
Watching his departing back, Exisia's frown worsened. She zoned out the fans asking her who the man was, with her steps quickly catching up to Cassius's stride.
After reaching him, she grabbed his robes, stopping him in his tracks.
Slowly turning around and looking down at the 5'5" woman, Cassius said, "Listen, lady, I really have somewhere I must be. And as cute as you are, I think I'll pass—"
Interrupting him, Exisia said, "I can help you. You want to find something or someone… I can help."
"???"
'I figured it to be too much of a hassle to get her to assist me, but now that she's offering, I guess I'll endure.'
"How do you know I'm searching for something?" he asked, testing the waters.
Exisia pointed at his wings.
"Ahh," said Cassius, feeling a little stupid. "Fine then, exactly how is it that you think you can help me?"
Exisia's eyes drifted over to the thousands of floating islands ascending in a spiral formation for who knew how many miles. "I'm able to find anything within the territory of Arch-Angel Gabriel using my own methods. I can help you."
Showing interest, Cassius asked, "And what is it that you want in exchange—"
"Marry me."
"...."
Yimin and Maxy's moods reached dangerous levels as they wholeheartedly prepared to discard all caution and fight the Angel woman to the death.
Luckily, Cassius was there to effortlessly put the brakes on their aggressive charges.
"This bastard!!!"
"He has seduced my Goddess!!!"
"All because he has a good-looking face!? Is this life!? Why is reality so, so cruel!??"
Treating the fans like thin air, Cassius's face twitched all over as he looked the expressionless woman dead in the eye. "Is there… Is there any particular reason other than my appearance that makes you so adamant about wanting to marry me?"
Exisia stared at him, unblinkingly comprehending his question.
After a moment, she nodded.
Believing that they were finally getting somewhere, Cassius asked, "What is it—"
"Your strength."
Silence…
"DIE, BIEATCH!!!"
OOOM!
Yimin erupted with enough power to overwhelm even stronger Transcendents, yet all Cassius had to do to assuage her was flick his fingers. All her momentum was dispersed, with any residual energy whooshing behind her.
Falling to her knees, both anger and… euphoria mixed in her expression. A tiny leak also happened on 'isle her pants.'
Cassius, staring at the blunt Angel woman, proposed a counteroffer. "How about you let me help you first, then you can help me?"
Exisia's expression froze. The way she looked at him rapidly changed, with bewilderment taking over.
"Don't need help," she replied belatedly, furiously shaking her head. "Only want you to marry me."
Smirking, Cassius asked, "There's no need to lie. Are you curious as to how I know that you need help, though?"
Exisia paused, pondering the matter. But she ended up not being able to find the answer.
Cassius chuckled, ruffling her soft hair. "I guess you'll never know."
Exisia silently stood there, her thoughts a tumultuous mess.
Cassius moved away from her, using the Sacred Art of Headpats to calm Yimin and Maxy down as well. With his back turned to the stunned Angel woman, he walked away. Though, after a certain distance, he cocked his head back ever so slightly.
"You coming, Miss Exisia?" he asked, grinning. "We have a Pits of Tartarus to have some fun at, do we not?"
'How does he…'
Shocked even more than before, Exisia failed to notice her legs making quick advances toward the devilish Immortal-like man. But by the time she did, it was already too late, for she was glued to his side, her entire being seemingly intent on trusting him.
Perhaps… Perhaps he was the one…
