Chapter 244: 242
While Julius had left behind the medicus tent, and retired to his own tent for the night.
Inside his encampment however the events that occurred within the medicus tent began to spread throughout his legions ranks like wildfire.
In the eyes of his people, Julius was a glorious monarch one who was fair to his people, but meanwhile in the eyes of his military.
Julius was becoming the epitome of a godking in the eyes of his legionaires, not only was he quickly becoming a true god of war, but now his ability to use what the men had started to refer to as holy power, the power of the gods in the hands of a man with divine right to rule, paired with the godly skill in battle to stand almost unscathed in battle even against impossible odds.
As the stories continued to circulate the legion themself started to believe fervently so that the losses they'd suffered throughout the day were actually a lie, a lie told to them by Julius to keep his legion humble in their own mortality under his command.
And that the handful of legionaires were instead just hiding away or had already been aware of the next of the Commander Generals plans, and had already volunteered for the next operations.
By the time morning came, even though their hill top fortress had come under attack by assailing Greecians who'd attempted to scale over the rocky escarpments, but were quickly dealt with by the sentries who were buoyed by the ever growing legend of their godking, so much so that when on duty their focus had never been stronger and as a result their was no slacking on the night duty not even for a minute.
Each of the coming assassins and saboteurs could only curse their poor luck to choose this of all nights to conduct this missions.
Opposite, the Romanus legionnaire who'd been enlisted had dressed themselves like ninja's wearing all black clothing, and their own efforts were much more successful against the Greecians while they couldn't infiltrate the camp itself they were able to still able harrass the onduty men.
Their efforts however were not as effective as the night raids conducted against the greecian encampment while they were still fighting back in Spartan lands.
Not because the 2nd legion was worse than the 1st legion, but simply because the Greecians were not trained properly so when the signals were given the men were not roused.
Having seen this the Romanus subverters could only curse at their own rotten luck knowing that if the entire legion had come rushing down the hill they could clear most of this camp before the deep in sleep men had managed to be roused enough to form enough of a resistance to repel the counter attacking Romanus legion.
But as sad as they were to have come to this realization after their mission was completed, and they returned to their own encampment to the stories running around their own morale was raised to the max, believing that Julius as the godking knew he could've attacked and defeated the Greecians at night, but chose not to.
He wanted to humiliate the Greecians, taking on the Greecian forces outnumbered 20-1 multiple times only to wind up in the Greecians total destruction would be considerably more humiliating for the Greecian high command than causing the army itself to rout due to the camp being attacked in the middle of the night while most of the remaining forces managed to flee running all over and fleeing such that they could still defend the remaining Athenian lands from possible Romanus agression.

As the Greecians entered into deeper despair at their own failed raid attempt, and being raided, while on the other hand the Romanus forces loyalty and belief in their leaders had grown to near mythical proportions.
Julius on the other hand was deep in a slumber within his personal tent.
Having dropped off to sleep almost the minute his head hit upon the pillow.
Almost as soon as he fell to sleep Julius entered into a dream.
Within which he was back on earth, back to the very same day he first discovered Imperator the game.
James was a recently new graduate of college having only just graduated from his program and started working in his first real job of his career.
The first paycheck still fresh in his hands, more money than he'd ever held at one time before, and certainly more money than he'd ever had in possession before physically.
Sure there were credit card, lines of credits and student loans that could be counted but this was all intangible money.
What he held now was real money instead, capable of walking into a bank and cashing this check for a stack of bills and coins.
This money could open a world of possibilities.
He presently still lived with his grandmother who was far to nice to ever even considering charging her grandson rent when he was in school and even now that he was fresh out of school she still wouldn't accept a penny from him, citing that he should instead save up the money so he could afford his own place, before teasing how he must be dying for the chance to move out so he could be free to meet up with a fine lady.
Helene was a charming woman, she had multiple sons and multiple grandchildren as well, and to those grandchildren she meant the world.
As much as he wanted to fulfill his gran's wishes of finding a nice lady he also had a great desire for the imaginary.
As a child growing up the one source of distraction he could attain to escape those he grew up in mainly his siblings and parts of his parents.
He'd escape into the world of fantasy either creating grand campaigns using miniatures and figurines and then later after computer games became available he got into strategy and grand strategy games.
Within his family he was the only one who like strategy.
His mother was stumped by the game of checkers.
His sister while devious and manipulative wouldn't pickup a video game to save her life.
As for his brother... well the man liked games but personally preferred more shooter style games to ones that required you to think about the big picture and what your actions would actually result in.
He first started with nation building type games as you advanced through the ages building up a civilization that would stand the test of time.
Next he started to get more into games that would give you command of a nation but your focus was more on controlling that nations military to conquer your neighbors.
Then came the releases of grand strategy games where the elements of both were combined together.
In these games your brain was challenged to the extreme, you were in control of both the cities that comprised your nation, and the armies as well.
On top of that was the political and economic sections.
One game in particular stated it best "After playing for a hundred playthroughs, starting a new game still had you learning new things and every time was a whole new experience."
