Chapter 243: 241
Thanks to the battle of the day, Julius had gained ample experience which allowed him to increase his overall level to 44.
With this five level ups he also gained a new cache of system points.
His power level was still enough to survive in this war, but against large number like they were he'd need to either use his points to attempt purchasing a new combat skill to increase their kill rate, or save the points to be used to summon the Earth Resonance skill.
Deciding to tempt fate and give the dice another roll, Julius selected to spend the bulk of his newest Skill points on acquiring a new combat skill while the remaining would allow him to summon a couple of casts of the Earth's Resonance and hopefully if needed to be used more skill points could be earned in the further battles ahead.

Nice!
The first true range combat skill, sad that it's limited to only 5 times per day, but with this I can sow further discord in the enemy lines, if my five multiplied shots can peirce through their armor and shields their belief in their security against our ranged attack with plummet, and in doing so we can also save more of our own arrows without wasting firing them into the enemy lines only to have them be blocked mostly by the raised bronze shields.
With his latest purchase completed, Julius finally turned his eyes from the map and his internal system.

The numbers from a single days worth of combat were heavily in their favor.
The Greecian levy force has lost over 30,000 of their number while Julius and his legion only lost around 50 though many more were still injured in the fighting than he died on the Romanus side.
Having concluded his work thus far Julius left heading for the medicus tent where those who didn't have simple superficial wounds were being treated.
As he walked through the camp the songs being song were still jubilant as they had one a great victory to stand against the onslaught of such a large number of enemies.
True to his words the men's morale also was not lowered due to reduced rations as everyone was still being provided with the full ration allotted to men on the march, even with their reduced numbers the Greecians couldn't have enough food to support a holding action siege while still feeding the numbers required to hold them here.
All the while the 1st Legion, and the Auxillary was still present in these lands making any supply lines near impossible without getting them raided.
Julius successfully passed through the camp without being stopped his presence either preventing the legionaires from calling out to their commander or the look upon his face clearly telling them he had something important to do and thus should not be stopped.
When he reached the Medicus tent, he only took a single deep breath before entering.
Even from outside the moans, groans, and cries could be heard which was enough to cause even the more stone hearted to break down a little.
As he walked through the tent, numerous bodies could be seen in the pale candlelight writing around on the ground in torment.
'This... this was caused by me. We didn't need to invade this far, we could have stopped and forced a peace earlier, but my lust for more power, and greed drove me on...'
"Your... Your majesty?"
A gravelly voice sounded breaking the continuous melody of pain and anguish.
"Soldier... you should rest now."
"No! Please your majesty, that look on your face, please don't make that look. We all here swore our allegiance to you, and your line even if we come to harm we know it is worth it."
The legionaire even while still pained continued to speak out.
"But we're only here because I refused to turn back..."
"No, in the end for the pride of your family lineage, we would be here sooner or later, why not get it now?"
"But later we could come with the full might of romanus where the enemy would be less of a threat to us."
"What you say might be true, but it could also be true that in the future just as we came to Sparta's defence, perhaps other nations would see our invasion as a means to come to the Greecians own defence to prevent our expansion."
Hmm, this legionare was a man he did not know but his words did ring true in his ears.
"What is your name soldier?"
"Rory. Sire."
"Rory, what you say is true, but even still it pains me to see my citizens hurt by the commands of my own words, but it's like you said I cannot stop, Visigoth has been turned away but in time they will come calling once again breaching our great wall and invading to claim all of Romanus which could pose a threat to their own goal of Global Domination."
As the legionaire before him began to ponder on his liege lords words.
Julius stood up from having kneeled down to inspect the injured mans wounds.
"Well can't go defending the world from their tyranny without an army, so with that being said."
Drawing the Heavenly Demon rain blade from it's Sheathe, raising the blade up till it almost reached the roof of the tent, before plunging the blade straight down until it embedded itself in the ground, at the same time he gave the command.
"Holy Nova!"
The blades impact sent out a 12ft light beam as if a visible sonar ping had just occured.
The five closest soldiers to Julius were healed almost in an instant, leaving the stunned healers and soldiers behind he moved on to the next group once more without explanation casting his sword into the earth once more healing those who had been injured.
Before leaving the tent behind, only for it to errupt in clamour moments later as those within began to energetically discuss the miracles they had just seen their lord conduct on their lowly behalf.
