Chapter 1315: Fierce Battle
This time, Aerodactyl was prepared. With its incredible flight speed, Nana's Thunderbolt missed entirely.
However, the Nidoqueen below wasn't idle either. Just like Nana, a surge of thunder erupted around its body. As Aerodactyl dodged Nana's Thunderbolt, Nidoqueen unleashed a thunderous column of electricity in its direction.
Startled by Nidoqueen's Thunderbolt, Aerodactyl quickly folded its wings, spiraling downward to narrowly avoid the electric attack.
Just as it dodged the strike, Aerodactyl used Agility mid-air to accelerate before launching an Iron Head straight toward Nana.
Unable to teleport away in time, Nana had to swiftly raise a Reflect barrier.
A transparent ripple of energy formed in front of Nana, but Aerodactyl charged ahead relentlessly, slamming into it with immense force. The impact sent Nana plummeting to the bottom of the valley, landing in the river below.
Seeing Nana fall from the sky, Yuga hurriedly ran out from behind a tree, anxious to check on her condition. At that moment, Aerodactyl summoned dozens of Stone Edges, madly firing them at Yuga.
A flash of red light appeared beside Yuga as Florges materialized next to him. Green light shimmered around Florges, and the grass under Yuga's feet began to grow wildly. In no time, a wall of vegetation shot up, intercepting all the Stone Edges.
Although most of the grass was sliced apart by the stone blades, its flexible nature provided enough cushioning to prevent the Stone Edges from reaching Yuga and Florges.
Not far away, Nidoqueen summoned an earthy yellow glow around her body. The energy flowed into her massive hand, which she slammed into the ground. Thick, sharp stone pillars erupted from the edge of the canyon, slamming into Aerodactyl mid-flight and sending it flying.
Aerodactyl let out a pained screech, its body wobbling precariously as it nearly tumbled into the canyon like Nana. After several flaps, it managed to stabilize itself, but it dared not approach the ground anymore.
Against a Ground-type Pokémon like Nidoqueen, getting close to the ground was far too risky.
Suddenly, a figure burst out of the river at the bottom of the canyon, landing near Yuga and gasping for breath. It was Nana, who had been knocked down earlier.
Yuga called to Florges, "Florges, Grassy Terrain."
"Floooorges~"
With a melodious response, Florges spread her green light across the grass. The vegetation grew even taller and swayed with vibrant energy, channeling waves of vitality into Nana and Nidoqueen. Instantly, both Pokémon felt their exhaustion fade away.
"Aerodactyl~!"
In the sky, Aerodactyl regained its composure and let out a resounding cry. Countless Stone Edges filled the sky, and with a wave of its wings, the sharp stones rained down like a torrential storm.
Nana and Nidoqueen exchanged a glance, nodding in perfect sync. Yuga watched as golden arcs of electricity surged around both of them. Under their control, the arcs intertwined, forming a dense electric net that rose to meet the falling Stone Edges.
Crackle, crackle!
The Stone Edges collided with the electric net, shattering into powder under the arcs' power. For a moment, the sky was filled with swirling dust, completely obscuring Yuga and his team's vision.
"Florges!" Yuga called out.
Florges nodded understandingly, intensifying the green glow around her. The grass swayed even more exuberantly, exuding a powerful vitality.
With Florges' support, Nana and Nidoqueen became even more energized. They quickly coordinated a Thunderbolt attack, shattering the remaining Stone Edges.
While Yuga's team was locked in a fierce battle with Aerodactyl, on the other side, Tyranitar was nearing defeat at the hands of Aegislash.
At first, Tyranitar couldn't understand why such a powerful Pokémon had suddenly appeared. But after spotting a Nidorina hiding nearby, it all became clear.
This was revenge from the Nido family!
Tyranitar fell to its knees, gritting its teeth as it struggled to support its severely injured body. It glared angrily at the hovering Aegislash, a whirlwind of thoughts surging through its mind.
Its territory was under attack—what about Aerodactyl? If Aerodactyl was safe, then why hadn't it come to help despite the massive commotion here?
And if Aerodactyl was also under attack, what kind of Pokémon could be powerful enough to hold it off? Tyranitar knew Aerodactyl's strength too well. It couldn't believe the Nido family had the power to stop it.
Aerodactyl could fly, and if it wanted to come to Tyranitar's aid, there was no way Nidoqueen, bound to the ground, could prevent it.
If Aerodactyl truly was being intercepted, then where did the Nido family find such powerful reinforcements? And if they had such strong allies, why had they suffered under Aerodactyl's tyranny for so long?
Caught in this whirlwind of thoughts, Tyranitar's focus wavered for a moment.
Tyranitar's residence was on a barren mountain near the canyon. The area was sparse in vegetation, covered with exposed brown and yellow rocks, a stark contrast to the lush surroundings of the island.
It wasn't always like this. The environment had only become desolate after Tyranitar moved in.
Aegislash floated in midair, puzzled as it observed Tyranitar. It couldn't understand why Tyranitar stubbornly remained in front of the cave entrance, refusing to budge.
Could there be some kind of treasure inside? Aegislash couldn't help but wonder.
Clang!
The clear sound of a blade rang out as Aegislash activated its Sacred Sword technique. Drawing its blade, blue Fighting-type energy radiated outward as it slashed straight toward Tyranitar.
Tyranitar tried desperately to defend itself, forcing its body to move. However, its injuries were too severe. After a few futile struggles, it collapsed to the ground again and ultimately lost consciousness under the power of the Sacred Sword.
Seeing that Tyranitar had finally been defeated, Aegislash retrieved a Poké Ball and captured Tyranitar within it.
The Poké Ball had been provided by Yuga, who had already decided before the battle to add Tyranitar to his Ecopark
To be honest, Aegislash admired Tyranitar. Despite the vast difference in their strength, Tyranitar had fought to the bitter end, relying entirely on sheer willpower to continue battling until its body gave out.
Descending from the air, Aegislash picked up the Poké Ball containing Tyranitar. Since Tyranitar had completely lost consciousness, it didn't resist being captured at all.
After putting away the Poké Ball, Aegislash turned its gaze to the pitch-black cave in front of it. It wanted to see for itself what treasure could be so valuable that Tyranitar would guard it so fiercely.
The cave was deep and nearly devoid of light, shrouded in darkness. However, the lack of illumination didn't hinder Aegislash's Ghost-type vision.
As it floated to the deepest part of the cave and took in the scene before it, Aegislash finally understood why Tyranitar had been so determined.
The Aerodactyl fighting Yuga and his companions suddenly heard a loud explosion from afar. Turning its head toward Tyranitar's residence, it immediately realized that Tyranitar had also come under attack, and a surge of fury erupted within it.
"Aerodactyl~!"
Aerodactyl tilted its head back and let out a piercing cry, its body emanating waves of astonishing light.
At the same time that Aegislash swiftly defeated Tyranitar, another team led by Joyha successfully reached the territory of the Rhydon clan.
The Rhydon clan had fewer members than the Nido family, but they certainly outnumbered Joyha's small team.
Thus, upon arrival, Joyha's team didn't rush into an attack but chose to hide in the surrounding woods. They waited for opportunities to ambush Rhydons that were isolated from the group.
By the time the higher-ranking members of the Rhydon clan realized something was amiss, a large portion of their tribe had disappeared. Most crucially, Joyha had sneaked into the Rhydon family's egg hatchery and stolen all their Pokémon eggs.
Joyha came up with such a ruthless tactic thanks to Yuga. During their conversations, Yuga had shared some of his own adventurous experiences. Little did he expect Joyha to not only remember them but also put them into practice.
The strongest Pokémon in the Rhydon clan was only at the Elite level, and with the Champion level Kangaskhan around, Joyha had nothing to fear. However, if the entire Rhydon clan attacked all at once, her team wouldn't have much of an advantage.
During the standoff, Joyha took a Pokémon egg out of her space backpack and threatened the Rhydon leader, saying, "Don't move, or I'll smash this egg."
The Rhydon leader immediately froze, not daring to make a rash move. Pokémon eggs represented the future of their clan. Their quest for the Nido family's Revival Herb was all about ensuring the future of their tribe. If the Pokémon eggs were destroyed, what future would they have left?
Under Joyha's threat, the Rhydon clan had no choice but to agree to one-on-one battles with the Kangaskhans.
However, with a Champion level Kangaskhan present, how could the Rhydons possibly win? The Kangaskhan matriarch alone took down nearly half of the Rhydons, including their leader.
After dealing with the Rhydon clan, Joyha turned to the Kangaskhan matriarch and asked, "Can I capture some of these Rhydons?"
"Kangaskhan~"
Of course, no problem!
The Kangaskhan matriarch nodded in agreement. It was happy for Joyha to take them—less effort for it. It originally had no intention of sparing the Rhydons anyway.
"Thank you so much!" Joyha exclaimed cheerfully and immediately ran off to capture some Pokémon.
She selectively captured a few high-level Rhydons, as higher levels indicated better potential.
Although she wasn't at the Elite level and couldn't subdue the Elite level Rhydon leader, she could take it home and exchange it for other resources.
An Elite level Pokémon could be traded for quite a lot of things.
With the higher-ranking members of the Rhydon clan taken away by Joyha, they no longer posed a threat to the Nido family.
Previously, the Nido family hadn't considered the Rhydons a threat at all. Who would have thought they'd ally with Aerodactyl and help it attack the Nido family's territory?
Joyha's mission had been completed with ease, but things were different for Jonah.
Jonah's target was the Victreebel clan, which lived on a sprawling grassy plain. No matter how much he wanted to launch a sneak attack, the terrain offered no opportunities for one.
Moreover, the Victreebel were extremely sensitive to changes in their surroundings, so Jonah and his group were discovered almost as soon as they arrived.
The overall strength of the Victreebel clan was also greater than that of the Rhydon clan. The leader of the Victreebel clan was a Champion level Pokémon, even a little bit stronger than Nidoking, second only to Tyranitar.
As a result, the Nido clan led by Jonah clashed fiercely with the Victreebel. The Victreebel's numbers were larger, and for a while, they managed to suppress the Nido clan.
Meanwhile, Ajay and the Kangaskhan daughter also found themselves in a tough fight.
Their target was the Primeape clan, who lived in a dense forest filled with tall trees bearing abundant berry. From a distance, Ajay and his group could smell the fragrance of the berry and hear the chattering cries of the Primeape.
The Primeape clan had the advantage of their territory. Ever since they allied with Aerodactyl and became enemies of the Nido clan, they had become very cautious. They stationed many sentinels high in the trees, so Jonah's group was discovered almost as soon as they approached, triggering an immediate alarm.
In no time, a large group of lively monkeys emerged from the forest, surrounding them.
The Primeape clan wasn't the strongest of the four groups, but they had the largest number of members. Their leader was also a Champion level Pokémon. While perhaps not as strong as the Victreebel leader, the Primeape leader was definitely not weaker than the Kangaskhan daughter.
Aerodactyl couldn't have oppressed the Nido clan without strong lieutenants, and the Primeape leader was one of Aerodactyl's most capable generals.
Thus, the Champion level Kangaskhan daughter was held at bay by the Primeape leader.
Primeape were typically about a meter tall on average, and even their leader was only slightly taller than the rest. This was nothing compared to the Kangaskhan, whose average height exceeded two meters.
Yet, when the Primeape leader threw a punch, it sent the Kangaskhan daughter staggering back several steps.
With the strongest Kangaskhan daughter tied up, the Primeape used their superior numbers to overwhelm the Kangaskhan group, including Ajay.
In truth, Yuga had never expected Ajay and the others to completely resolve all four clans. His primary goal was to stall them and prevent them from supporting Aerodactyl.
Compared to Ajay and Jonah, Joyan had a much easier time dealing with the Ursaring clan. Aside from Yuga's Charizard, Joyan herself was also a very strong Elite level Trainer.
The Ursaring lived in a forest as well. When Joyan spotted an Ursaring being relentlessly pursued by a swarm of Beedrill after stealing honey, she came up with a brilliant idea.
She first captured several Gloom and Oddish and harvested a large amount of Sleep Powder. Gloom and Oddish were common on the island, so finding them wasn't difficult.
Next, she gathered a large number of berries and smeared them with a mix of honey and Sleep Powder before scattering them throughout the forest.
The honey was a gift from Yuga.
A few days earlier, during a meal, Yuga had brought out some honey, which everyone enjoyed. He ended up gifting each person a jar, and Joyan used up her entire jar for this plan.
The honey's aroma was irresistible and quickly attracted wandering Ursaring.
At first, the Ursaring were cautious. But unable to resist the enticing scent of the honey, they eventually gave in and ate the berries.
Ursaring were fiercely possessive when it came to honey. Once they found it, they wouldn't think about sharing it with their companions. One by one, the Ursaring ate the berries and collapsed.
Due to the limited amount of honey, Joyan couldn't put all the Ursaring to sleep, but she significantly reduced the pressure on her group.
In the end, with the combined efforts of her Charizard and the Nido clan, she successfully subdued all the Ursaring.
Back on Yuga's side, he looked at Aerodactyl's current state with a face full of shock.
