Chapter 16: Home

I was brought back by my uncle, but... someone was following us.

Not a threat—just... someone.

My uncle teleported me to the room where Kael was still healing.

"Brother...!"

He rushed to me, tears streaming uncontrollably as he embraced me tightly.

From the corner, a soldier whispered:

"Hey... is this really the same kid we knew before?"

My uncle gently lifted me onto the bed and ordered Kael back to his own.

"Get back to your recovery. Now."

He left the room right after that.

Though I passed out again, I could still hear voices around me.

"Hahaha, he never used to act like this."

"Don't say that or you'll get punched!"

The girl chuckled, realizing this wasn't quite the same person as before.

"Whatever. I found something strange in his energy."

"...What?"

Both of them stared at me now.

"No... it can't be."

"Yes. He might be... under control."

"But he hasn't done anything dangerous!"

"It's only a matter of time."
