I'm Not A Master, I'm A Director (Creating Fate Movie In Nasuverse)

Chapter 211: Chapter 213: Shinji’s Tohsaka Family Money-Making Scheme

For the longest time, the Mage's Association has scoffed at the Tohsaka family's claim of being disciples of the Wizard Marshal, Zelretch, dismissing it as an attempt by a small Eastern family to boost their reputation.

After all, everyone knows that becoming a disciple of that old man is practically a death sentence!

For the Tohsaka family to emerge unscathed? What a joke!

The only logical conclusion was that the Tohsakas were lying—using the Wizard Marshal's name to embellish the history of their relatively young lineage.

This kind of behavior is all too common among younger magi families. As long as the person being name-dropped doesn't object, no one cares enough to argue.

Sure, maybe Zelretch taught the Tohsakas a thing or two, but the relationship was never that of teacher and disciple. At best, someone from the Tohsaka family attended one of Zelretch's Clock Tower lectures.

'This guess wasn't far from the truth.'

Now, however, with the revelation of the Jeweled Sword blueprints, the connection between the Tohsaka family and Zelretch warrants a second look.

"Could the Tohsaka family really be disciples of that Wizard Marshal?"

Shibamatsu and Fujita gaped in disbelief.

"The Jeweled Sword? That's not the kind of thing you just casually reveal!"

To be fair, Zelretch created a fair number of mystic codes using the Second Magic—more than 100 documented ones. However, many of them have been lost over time or rendered unusable due to the decline of magecraft's mysteries.

So, if the Tohsakas had a mystic code from Zelretch, it wouldn't be shocking in and of itself. A family with over a hundred years of history could have acquired it through trickery or even outright theft.

If they claimed to be Zelretch's disciples, they would need at least one artifact to back up their story.

But the Jeweled Sword is different—extraordinary, even among Zelretch's creations.

Not only is it the pinnacle of mystic codes related to the Second Magic, but it also allows its wielder to connect with and draw upon the magical energy of parallel world origins!

For years, the Mage's Association had speculated:

"If the mysteries of our world are fading, why not tap into a parallel world where they remain intact?"

This theory gained traction, and many believed Zelretch had retreated to a parallel world due to his dissatisfaction with the decline of mystery in this one.

The question was how to connect to those parallel worlds.

Among the proposed methods, using the Jeweled Sword was considered the safest and most viable.

Now, Shinji Matou and the Tohsaka family had brazenly revealed the Jeweled Sword blueprints to the public.

Although the big screen didn't show a close-up of the blueprints, the fact that Shinji dared to include this detail in the production was telling.

"It made sense for the Tohsakas to keep this a secret before," Shibamatsu analyzed, stroking his chin.

"Having a treasure like that would only bring disaster to a small family like theirs."

"But now they've made it public," Fujita interjected.

"Which means they think they can protect it now—or rather, that Shinji Matou, Lord El-Melloi (Kayneth), and their Modern Magecraft Theory Department will protect it for them."

"I've heard the Clock Tower's political winds have been shifting lately," Alice mused, stroking her chin.

"Perhaps Sir Matou revealed the Jeweled Sword information to win over the neutral factions?"

Alice believed that many wavering families might side with the Modern Magecraft faction for the chance to benefit from the Jeweled Sword, even if their research wasn't directly related to the Second Magic.

If the Jeweled Sword successfully tapped into a parallel world's origin, everyone would stand to gain.

'Sir Matou truly deserves his reputation. To play this trump card at such a critical moment—he must've planned this all along,' Alice thought, her admiration for Shinji growing by the second.

◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆

It wasn't just non-Type-Moon magi who were stunned by the Jeweled Sword revelation. Even the Type-Moon magi in Fuyuki City were utterly shocked.

"I can't believe it's the Jeweled Sword..."

Reines pressed her fingers to her temples, her face a mix of astonishment and exasperation.

"Revealing something so important at a time like this—there's no way the head of the family knows, right?"

Rin sighed, propping her chin on her hand. "Of course not. This was all Shinji acting on his own. I didn't even know he knew about the blueprints until I saw the script. Father thought I told him! Ugh!"

The memory of her father's conflicted expression gave Rin a headache.

The Jeweled Sword blueprints were a closely guarded Tohsaka family secret. To Tokiomi, the fact that Rin supposedly shared this secret with Shinji was proof of her intention to marry him.

And if his precious daughter really had feelings for Shinji... What then?

This was Tokiomi's real concern.

The matter of the blueprints was secondary since Kayneth had already negotiated terms with him from the UK.

With the El-Melloi family backing them, the Tohsakas no longer feared outsiders coveting their secrets.

Compared to the blueprints, Tokiomi was far more worried about Rin's future.

But the problem was that Rin had no idea how Shinji found out about this secret!

'Damn it. Just wait until I figure out how you learned about this, Shinji. Once I do, I'll make sure you spend the rest of your life bedridden while Sakura takes care of you!'

"Achoo!"

In the meeting room, Shinji suddenly sneezed.

"Who's talking about me now?" he muttered, rubbing his nose.

"Probably the aristocratic faction," Sisigou laughed heartily.

"Boss, you really threw them a curveball. With the Jeweled Sword as bait, I bet a lot of families they roped in are wavering again."

"Boss, that move of yours was pure genius! What brilliant foresight!"

"You're an idiot," Shinji shot him a glare. "How could I have predicted the aristocratic faction's counterattack back when we were shooting the series?"

"What's with you now...?"

Shinji scratched his head regretfully. "At first, I thought I could have the Tohsaka family publicly lease out the blueprints. I'd use my connections at the Clock Tower to act as a middleman and make some pocket money off the difference."

"Now look what happened. Kayneth took the blueprints to use as bargaining chips, and here I am, broke again. Sigh, am I cursed by Alaya to never have money in this life?"

'Hey, you've completely lost all your dignity, haven't you?'

'A scion of the prestigious Matou family, trying to make pocket money this way—where's your shame?'

'Master, you constantly manage to lower my expectations of you.'

The others in the conference room looked at Shinji with expressions of disdain.

Realizing his slip of the tongue, Shinji quickly cleared his throat twice and used his pointer to shift the topic to the television screen.

"The events we've seen recently fall under the 'preparation phase' for both sides before the big battle."

"Since there's a massive disparity in combat strength between the two sides, I have to balance things out to create suspense for the final showdown."

"We'll skip over the projection sword for now. As for the villains..."

Shinji swiped the pointer across the screen, stopping on the face of Dark Sakura.

"I need to find a reasonable way to reduce their numbers."

If the story lacks suspense, the audience will lose motivation to keep watching.

This suspense has to work both ways—if the villains are too strong or too weak, it diminishes the viewing experience.

The best approach is to make the villains slightly stronger than the protagonists, but not overwhelmingly so.

And the best way to weaken the villains is through internal strife.

Of course, this requires some finesse.

Currently, the Matou faction consists of Sakura Matou, Zouken Matou, Saber Alter, and Assassin.

First of all, Saber Alter cannot be touched. A strong Servant is essential for delivering an impactful final action sequence.

However, Assassin must die. Although he isn't particularly powerful, he is never careless.

If he stays alive, he'll definitely seize an opportunity to strike a critical blow to the protagonist group at a pivotal moment.

To avoid a situation where the protagonists win by sheer luck, the best solution is to eliminate Assassin.

Thus—

"Chirp—chirp—!!"

In an instant.

The pale skeleton perched on the rock wall was swallowed whole by an overwhelming darkness.

It was too late for surprise.

Assassin's body was crushed in an instant under the fatal blow, leaving only his head visible.

Clatter.

A white skull mask fell to the ground, revealing the featureless black face beneath.

"What the—"

Sakura Matou complained, bored.

"I was wondering what you looked like, and it turns out you're just a faceless nobody."

"I thought, with the mask, you'd have an interesting face. But you're such a boring guy after all."

"Chirp—girl—you—"

Hassan groaned in despair, the only sound he could make as his consciousness faded away.

"To give up your face and even your name, and yet you still yearned for eternal fame? You're such a dull man."

Sakura toyed idly with the shadows on her body.

"Even the Holy Grail can't turn back time and return your name to you."

"So disappear, Lord of the Mountain."

"You're no one. Just an assassin—not even a real person."

"Chirp—aaahhhh—!"

The pale skeleton of Assassin was devoured by darkness, along with his final, desperate scream, leaving nothing behind.

The true Assassin had exited the stage.

Next to die was Zouken Matou.

Squelch

The girl effortlessly tore open her chest and pulled out a writhing worm.

"Wait, Sakura!! Wait—wait! Hold on!! Stop, stop, stop!!"

The worm emitted Zouken Matou's panicked voice. The cunning old schemer now truly felt fear.

Sakura coldly observed the worm still slick with her blood.

The audience, already aware of Zouken's plans from Illya's earlier story, needed no further explanation.

Both emotionally and logically, this was the moment—

Squelch.

The sound of a fish bladder bursting rang out as Sakura casually crushed the worm in her hand.

"Goodbye, Grandpa."

The blackened girl stared at the blood on her palm and curled her lips into a grin.

"Hehehe! Hahahaha!"

She laughed maniacally, like a puppet whose strings had been cut, laughing endlessly without restraint.
