I'M NARUTO UZUMAKI

Chapter 90: CHAPTER 90

Correct usage of reincarnation

Found the Right Offering?

Namikaze Minato frowned as he recalled the White Zetsu clones that Naruto had been hunting recently. White Zetsu looked almost human, yet they lacked internal organs, making them ideal sacrifices for the Impure World Reincarnation (Edo Tensei).

But if they were being used as sacrifices, where had these humanoid creatures originated?

Could their existence be linked to the masked man—Obito Uchiha—who had attacked Konoha and unleashed the Nine-Tails?

A sinking realization hit Minato. A vast conspiracy was unfolding within the shinobi world, yet he, as a soul in the afterlife, was powerless to investigate or prevent it.

However, Naruto had known about White Zetsu for a long time. Had he learned about them from Kurama?

Inside the Uzumaki Clan's Hidden Village

Naruto approached Uzumaki Hōmon, proposing a visit to the clan's ancestral hall.

Hōmon studied Naruto in silence before sighing and leading the way.

Fate was at work. Naruto's presence in the Uzumaki Village wasn't merely about helping the Uchiha find land—it was deeply tied to the lost legacy of the Uzumaki Clan.

Soon, they reached a concealed cave, where the ancestral hall lay hidden.

Naruto scanned the altar, cluttered with eerie death masks, and muttered in exasperation.

"Why do ancient clans always stash their most powerful artifacts in sacred halls? The Uchiha hide their Sharingan secrets, the Uzumaki hoard their Death Masks… I wonder what the Hyūga and Senju keep locked away."

Hōmon noticed Naruto's scrutiny and said flatly, "Aside from Konoha's ancestral hall, this is the last remaining Uzumaki shrine. Take what you want, but these artifacts require mastery of fūinjutsu to wield."

Naruto raised an eyebrow. "These masks are fūinjutsu vessels? Can they all be used for the Reaper Death Seal (Shiki Fūjin)?"

Hōmon nodded gravely. "Yes. But invoking the Shinigami exacts a steep price—your life. During the fall of Uzushiogakure over twenty years ago, many of our kin perished using this very technique."

"You didn't use the Reaper Death Seal?" Naruto asked.

Hōmon shook his head. "I was a child. The elders smuggled me out before the village was razed. By the time I returned, our heritage had already been lost."

His voice was tinged with regret. If not for his relentless pursuit to restore their homeland, he wouldn't have risked exposure by returning to the ruins of Uzushiogakure.

Even now, he wondered: Could the Uzumaki Clan truly be revived without their fūinjutsu legacy? Without their seals, were they still Uzumaki?

Naruto picked up the oldest mask on the altar, sensing residual chakra.

"Hōmon, do these artifacts require a blood contract before use?"

Hōmon glanced at Naruto. "Yes, but the knowledge to wield them perished with our elders. You can take it as a memento."

A thought struck Hōmon, and his expression changed.

"Wait… Konoha's Scroll of Seals—does it contain Uzumaki fūinjutsu?"

Naruto smirked. "It does. The full Reaper Death Seal is recorded there."

He then summoned a shadow clone carrying a restrained White Zetsu.

"But I'm not here for sealing—I need a forbidden technique to resurrect the dead."

Hōmon's eyes widened. "Resurrect the dead!?"

Naruto sighed. "The Uzumaki created a technique that calls upon the Shinigami to devour souls. Doesn't it make sense that Konoha would develop one that reverses the process?"

"But what convinced me to use Impure World Reincarnation (Edo Tensei) was your despair just now. If our sealing arts are lost, why not summon our ancestors from the Pure Land and reclaim our heritage?"

Hōmon hesitated. "Senior Mianma, perhaps we should—"

Before he could finish, Naruto activated the Edo Tensei ritual.

A white glow engulfed White Zetsu, whose body contorted as paper-like fragments enveloped it. A moment later, the figure of an elderly man with wild gray hair and a fierce expression emerged.

Naruto eyed him. "A white-haired elder? Looks knowledgeable. Lucky me."

But Hōmon's face turned ashen. He stammered, "S-Senior Mianma… that's Uzumaki Ashina, the founder of Uzushiogakure! My grandfather said… he had a terrifying temper."

"The founder of the Uzumaki Clan?" Naruto's eyebrows shot up.

Before he could act, Uzumaki Ashina snapped his eyes open and immediately performed a sealing technique—on himself.

Breaking free from Naruto's control, he turned on them.

"We're doomed," Hōmon muttered. "He'll beat us senseless and seal us for a decade!"

Naruto scoffed. "A ten-year seal? Wasn't the average lifespan in the Warring States Period only thirty? That's half a lifetime!"

"My grandfather swore it was true…" Hōmon's voice wavered.

Naruto sighed, shoving Hōmon behind him. He activated his Sharingan, casting an illusion on Ashina—only for it to be instantly dispelled by another sealing technique.

Ashina's sharp gaze locked onto Naruto.

"Uchiha brat, attacking me out of nowhere? Do you intend to break the peace pact between Madara and Hashirama?"

Sealing Naruto's Sharingan in an instant, Ashina prepared another technique. Then he hesitated.

His eyes narrowed as he studied Naruto's chakra.

"Wait. This chakra…"

Golden Adamantine Sealing Chains burst from Ashina's back, lashing toward Naruto and Hōmon.

Naruto dodged effortlessly, but Hōmon wasn't as lucky—he was sealed in an instant.

Naruto grimaced. He dispelled his transformation jutsu, summoned dozens of shadow clones, and launched an attack.

One by one, the clones were annihilated by Ashina's Adamantine Sealing Chains.

Realizing brute force wasn't working, Naruto activated Kurama Mode, his body shrouded in dark chakra. In a flash, he was upon Ashina, slamming a Rasenringu into his defense.

The technique tore through Ashina's seals, shattering his body slightly—though the reanimated shinobi remained intact.

Naruto clicked his tongue. Defeating Ashina was one thing, but sealing him? A nightmare. This man created Konoha's sealing arts.

Ashina frowned, finally acknowledging Naruto.

"The Nine-Tails' chakra? You're Konoha's Jinchūriki? And why do you, an Uzumaki, have Sharingan?"

Naruto massaged his temples. "You attacked me first, old man."

Ashina huffed. "I was resting in my grave, and suddenly I'm summoned here? It's only natural to discipline you disrespectful brats."

"But I didn't expect the Nine-Tails to be in your body. I almost had to take this fight seriously."

Naruto sighed. "Since you recognized the Nine-Tails, shouldn't you have figured out I'm an Uzumaki?"

Ashina's expression darkened. "Fine. Who are you to Mito? And which generation of Jinchūriki are you?"

Naruto thought for a moment. "I'm the third Jinchūriki. As for Mito… she's been dead for over twenty years. So, what, she's my great-grandmother?"

Ashina stiffened at Mito's name. His voice grew somber.

"Mito is… gone?"

A long silence followed.

He finally muttered, "How fares Uzushiogakure? Surely Konoha has protected our land?"

Naruto exchanged a look with the still-bound Hōmon.

Ashina noticed the tense atmosphere.

His expression hardened.

"…Has Uzushiogakure fallen?"

He exhaled sharply.

"Speak. I can handle it."
