Chapter 7: 7-With a student like this, I have to show off.
---
The excitement on Teacher Wang's face paused for a moment before he calmed down and asked, "Are you sure you're not lying to me?"
Su Mo nodded. "Nope."
"Come on, hit me with a punch—let's see!"
"You sure? Right here?"
Teacher Wang grinned confidently. "You're underestimating the strength of a silver-tier powerhouse. A measly 65 strength stat? I can handle it. Go ahead, don't hold back!"
Su Mo's eyes flickered with doubt. "Alright, here I go!"
"Give it everything you've got!"
**[Boom!]**
A punch roared out, unleashing a wild surge of power. The gust it created flipped the desk onto the floor.
*Cough, cough, cough!*
Teacher Wang coughed lightly, wiping a trickle of blood from the corner of his mouth. "Been a bit stressed lately. Not bad, kid—I've got high hopes for your performance in the college entrance exams this year.
Uh, I need to hit the bathroom. Be right back."
Before Su Mo could respond, Teacher Wang darted out the door and vanished.
He didn't stop until he reached a private restroom, where he spat out a mouthful of blood.
"Holy crap, this kid doesn't hold back! If my defense stat weren't at 60, I'd probably be seriously injured right now.
He's supposed to be a defensive ability awakener—how does he have such insane strength?!
No wonder he kept bugging me about switching to a damage role.
With that kind of strength, he'd be a solid damage dealer—most dedicated attackers don't even have a strength stat this high."
Muttering to himself, Teacher Wang washed his face, straightened his clothes, and returned to the office.
Not long after he got back, a tremor shook the trial hall. Two beams of golden light shot into the sky and disappeared.
Teacher Wang glanced up, figuring Old Man Wang wouldn't be back anytime soon.
Then he looked at Su Mo, sipping tea across from him, and his heart swelled with joy. With a student like this, promotions and raises were practically guaranteed.
No way—he had to show him off to the other teachers.
With that thought, Wang Defa put on a stern face and said to Su Mo, "Xiao Mo, that weapon in your hand looks a bit light. How about…"
Su Mo's heart leapt. He'd just been thinking about upgrading his weapon, and now it was like someone handed him a pillow when he was sleepy. Without hesitation, he agreed.

School Office
This was where all the teachers, aside from homeroom teachers, worked together.
Wang Defa strode in with a dark expression, Su Mo trailing behind him with his head lowered, silent.
"That's outrageous! How could you go into the Goblin instance alone?! Do you have any idea how dangerous that was?!"
Wang Defa's words quickly drew the attention of every staff member, who turned to look at him.
At first, they were puzzled, but when they saw Su Mo behind him—head down and quiet—they pieced it together.
"Teacher Wang, are you saying the student behind you went into an instance solo?"
Wang Defa nodded. "Yes! Isn't it ridiculous? A newly awakened student, no team, no teammates, just running off alone into the Goblin instance!"
"It's definitely risky, but since he came out safe, there's no need to make a big fuss, right?
The college entrance exams are in a few days. Just give him a warning—surely you're not planning a school-wide criticism and disciplinary action!
That could affect the kid's future."
"Yeah, yeah, he was a bit reckless, but as long as he's fine, no need to blow it up. It wouldn't look good for the school either."
"I think it's necessary. Ever since that incident years ago when someone went solo into an instance and nearly got… well, you know,
it's been ages since something like this happened. I say we do a school-wide criticism and disciplinary action.
It'll teach him a lesson and stop other kids from doing the same."
Wang Defa nodded. "This teacher's right. A school-wide criticism and disciplinary action is exactly what's needed. Lucky for him, he cleared the Goblin instance and defeated the Goblin King.
If he hadn't made it through, think how dangerous it would've been! Does he even realize?!
At level 3, he dared to solo the Goblin instance and took down a bronze-tier boss, the Goblin King, without a clue how strong it really is…"
The other teachers had been listening eagerly, but the more they heard, the more something felt off.
What the hell—this isn't a criticism, it's a brag!
Soloing the Goblin instance, killing the Goblin King, and walking out unscathed!
A school-wide criticism and disciplinary action? Is that a punishment or a praise?!
Wang Defa was mid-rant when he noticed the office had gone silent.
He immediately turned to the teacher who'd supported the disciplinary idea and said,
"Don't you think this is outrageous? Doesn't it deserve a school-wide criticism and disciplinary action?!"
That teacher was inwardly cursing. Showing off was one thing, but dragging him into it? That was too much! If he'd known, he wouldn't have chimed in earlier.
But with Wang Defa in his face, he had no choice. Awkwardly, he muttered,
"Well, actually, I don't think it's that serious. The exams are coming up—it might hurt the student's future…"
"Being so bold as to solo an instance in school—what happens when he's out in the world?!
I'm taking this to the principal.
If we don't give these kids a wake-up call, they'll waste their talent doing this again! Su Mo, don't you agree?"
Su Mo's lowered head bobbed slightly as he murmured, "Teacher's right."
"And those rewards you got from beating the Goblin King? Hand them over—I'm confiscating them. You can come get them back after graduation!"
The other teachers nearly swore out loud.
Graduation was just days away—what was the point of this fake confiscation?!
You couldn't do this in your office—you had to come here?!
You shameless jerk—just admit you're here to flaunt it! Why go through all this?!
Su Mo obediently handed over the Goblin King's heart and the Goblin King's spiked club.
Wang Defa snatched them up, his face full of exasperation. "Look at you, look at you!
Risking your life soloing the Goblin instance for some lousy bronze gear?!
How reckless can you be?! If you wanted equipment, why didn't you ask me?!
Would I ever refuse you if you came to me?!
Go back to my office and reflect. I'll figure out with the other teachers how to discipline you!"
Every teacher in the office plastered on a warm smile as Su Mo shuffled out with his head down.
But inside, they were furiously cursing Wang Defa for being such a show-off.
