Madeline Stillwell didn't have a very pleasant morning, considering what had happened yesterday afternoon. Her heels clacked on the smooth floor as she pressed her lips together nervously, thinking about how this would affect the company and her place in it. First the Homelander's self-rule, which had turned into an online outcry of unbelievable proportions. And of course Starlight, the girl who was supposed to just read from the teleprompter and leave the stage quietly, suddenly started her monologue about religion.
"Who gives a shit about that anyway? Little bitch." - Thought Stillwell, trying to get her emotions in order, which had been increasingly difficult to do lately. Too much had come upon her in this short time.
- And you've obviously been taking your time. - Was the first thing the Homelander said when the iron doors opened in front of her.
And once again it was the same pattern. Once again she was being summoned as if she wasn't in charge of them, but they were in charge of her. It was incredibly annoying, no matter how hard she tried to abstract herself from it. Everyone was assembled and looking at her expectantly, as if they were waiting for the show to start. Even Black Noir, who was always on the side of the company, had clearly chosen to side with the blond freak this time.
- Why did you call me? - Stillwell almost grimaced, barely able to keep from screaming.
- Oh, it was nothing. I'd like you to approve of the idea of Depths. - He pointed at the guy, who was sitting silently, trying not to attract attention.
- What's the idea? - Madeline sighed, deciding to listen to what he was going to say. The bastard had hinted at what would happen to her child in this case.
- The dolphins at Ocean Land are very poorly cared for. - Depths hesitated, under her fixed gaze, and fell silent.
- They're malnourished and poorly housed, and that needs to be publicised in the press. - Homelander continued for him, taking the floor.
- I don't think that makes sense. "Ocean Land are important advertisers and from them we get a lot of the profit that comes from the Depths brand. And to give them up because of brainless fish--
- Madeline, you know they're much smarter than that," Homelander interrupted her, raising his hand. - And I support Deep in his endeavour, for it is a good cause. And it will help the reputation of the corporation.
- Can't you remind me who's to blame for this? - Madeline said with distaste in her voice, staring at him intently.
- Are you angry with me? - Homelander asked in surprise.
- You have no idea how angry. - She almost growled at Stillwell, searing the blond with a glare.
- Well, I sincerely apologise," he said in a completely indifferent voice, ignoring her. - And now back to the subject of the oceanarium.
- That's not going to happen. You will apologise to everyone and say that you overreacted. And the subject of the oceanarium is closed, we're not going against them! - For the first time in her years at the Vought Corporation, Madeline let her guard down and shouted at someone. And it surprised even the Homelander, not to mention the rest of the audience.
- I'm not apologising and the subject of the oceanarium isn't closed," Homelander replied indifferently as everyone in the room squirmed in their chairs, except for Noir and Maeve.
- I understand that you don't want to recant, but the oceanarium... What the hell do you need it for? That spineless dumbass can't even stand up for himself, let alone those stinking fish.
- I.... - Raised Deep's hand like a diligent student.
- Spit on zero! - The guy's hand immediately dropped under the table, and the woman looked at the blond again. - You don't dare talk to me like that. I created you, I invented Homelander and I brought him to life! I'm the reason you're the symbol of America!
- Is that right? Well, then make America's symbol. the Blue Hawk. You're the one who made it happen. Why not do it again? - snorted Homelander, looking condescendingly at the woman. - What? Silence?
Silence was his answer. With a chuckle, he took measured steps towards the woman and stood opposite her, literally hovering over her.
- Let's be honest, my image was based primarily on the Soldier as a prototype. The eagles on his shoulders, the blue colour of his suit... and the cape, which I was the one who suggested the American flag. Don't flatter yourself, Madeline," the blond smiled at her. - You were just my handler, once upon a time. I'm the one who promoted you, not your skills. And you'd just as easily leave your position if I needed you to. So. don't test my patience.
- If I do as you ask. it'll shatter my credibility. I could get fired. - Stillwell smiled tightly, pulling herself together.- You won't. Just do what you have to do. You know what you need to do, I don't need to tell you.
- And the Starlight scandal and.... you? - Madeline looked at him expectantly.
- Put it in a good light, as a sign of our... humanity and separateness from the corporation's... independence. As our civic stance," Homelander waved his hand, having lost all interest in the conversation. - Now, you may go.
Madeline clenched her teeth so as not to say anything unnecessary and left in silence. Now she'd have to clean up the mess they'd made. It wasn't the first time, though.

The rest of the meeting was over very quickly, considering there were no more topics left to discuss. Though there was one topic that should have been discussed, but without prying ears. And as a result, only the ladies left the room, while the men, in the form of Black Noir, Depths, and Train-A, remained. The black speedster had been fidgeting in his chair the whole meeting, unable to sit still. And even now he was sweating, trying not to look into my eyes.
- Black Noir. Depths. - I called out to the heroes who stood behind Train-A without further ado.
- What's going on, boys? - More and more nervous, asked the black guy. - Is this about the recent raid, Homelander? I'll find that Asian girl, I promise!
- Don't be so nervous, Reggie. I already know where she is, and I don't need you to do anything about it," he smiled softly, once again X-raying his body. - The other thing is... have you been taking the V drug?
- Я... ha... just a little. It won't happen again!
- Out of breath on the fastest speedster in the world. is not a good sign. - Shook his head, under the panicked gaze of the aforementioned speedster. Whereupon Noir and Depth's hands fell on his shoulders, increasing the guy's nervousness.
- Guys, what are you doing? - Train-A asked, looking at his comrades with fear.
- You need treatment. - Deep looked at him sympathetically, holding him firmly in a sitting position.
Black Noir nodded silently, showing that he too shared the underwater hero's opinion.
- So what's next? - Reggie pressed his lips together, realising that he would be treated forcibly.
- You will be placed in a cell on the lower floors and they will hire specialists that can help you in your situation, - he decided to clarify the situation for him. - Cottonmouth and your brother will be able to visit you.
- No, I don't want them to see me like this. like this. - The speedster protested back, looking at me pleadingly.
- If not for your own sake, then for theirs, you have to stop taking this stuff. And it'll be a nice reminder of who you're doing it for. Noir, do me a favour.
A sharp stab of his fingers to the area around the neck from the silent hero and the speedster stares at him perplexed.
- It hurts. - He stopped halfway through his sentence before collapsing onto his side, unconscious.
- Wow, I didn't know you could do that. - Deep exclaimed in surprise.
To which Noir only shrugged, smiling beneath his mask. Of course, the smile was extremely creepy, considering the battle scars all over the face of a black-clad hero with an extremely ironic nickname. Fortunately, it didn't change at all that Black Noir genuinely sympathised with Train-A and wanted to help. And that meant I had one less problem to worry about, because now I could clearly see whose side he was on.
- Well, you know where to take him. All that's left is to warn Cottonmouth and his brother. I'll leave that to you, Deep," the boy nodded affirmatively, showing his willingness to do the task at hand. - Black Noir, you will have to see to it that our comrade does not escape, for his own good.
Noir nodded in response, and he and Deepness carried the speedster to the lift to descend to the lower floors. I decided to go to my apartment, where my guest was waiting for me. Maeve was sitting in an armchair with her foot tucked in when I stepped inside.
- You know, I've never seen Stillwell take it out on anyone before. Not even at me, for that broken arm incident that kept me out of the photo shoot. - Maeve smiled, remembering an incident she didn't regret at all.
- Is that why you came here? To reminisce? - Smiled at her, seeing something that was usually hidden from the eyes of men. Namely. excitement.
- Don't play dumb with me," the redhead snorted, standing up from her chair and walking right up to me. She stared into my eyes, and her hand grasped my most precious possession, causing me to let out a convulsive sigh. Her plump lips stretched into an anticipatory smile. - You know I'm literally sweating from what I've seen. And to thank you, I'm going to suck you so fucking... so sweet you'll never forget it.
Her sexy chesty voice and the words she said made me literally speechless. Next all I had to do was watch as this fury slowly lowered herself down, looking me straight in the eyes. Not a bad continuation of the day, by the way.

The next day, I was already standing at the therapist's door, and I kind of had a session scheduled for that time. Anyway, such a big problem I couldn't ignore. I pushed the door open, stepping confidently inside.
- Sorry I'm late," I smiled my trademark smile.
The man behind the desk looked at me in bewilderment, extremely surprised at my appearance. It was understandable, since I hadn't made an appointment with him.
- Sir? - came from behind the couch where Deep was sitting.
- Hi, Kevin," I nodded, sitting down in the chair, adjusting my cloak so it wouldn't get in the way. An extremely uncomfortable thing, by the way. There were more disadvantages to the cloak than Edna Mode had described.
- I'm sorry, Mr Homelander, but no outsiders are to be present during therapy," said the therapist with a strained smile.
- True, but I'm definitely not an outsider, especially in this case. Right, Kevin?
- Of course, sir," Deep agreed uncomplainingly.
- If that's the case, I'll ask you to let me attend at least one session. I can pay extra for the inconvenience.
- I'm afraid there are some things you can't just buy.
- Would four hundred thousand quid be enough? - I smiled, seeing how his eyes widened at the mere mention of the sum. Sometimes it's convenient to be a multimillionaire. - What's up?
- So, let's start our session, Kevin. You can start with what you did.
- Я...
- Wait, what kind of problem are you solving? - abruptly interrupted the guy, turning to the therapist.
- Well, we're trying to get Kevin's confidence back. To make him realise that he's important as a hero and a member of the Seven - explained the man.
- But that's not the problem. Or are you not being completely honest with whoever wants to help you, Kevin? - I looked into the guy's eyes without taking my gaze off him. Which made him gulp and he could hardly look back, all the while averting his gaze.
- You shouldn't push, it can make him shut down," the therapist said worriedly.
- I think I'm doing the right thing. After all, you have no idea how deep the root of his psychological problems. And he won't reveal all the cards to you, because he denies them," I frowned, looking at Deep, who looked shrunken. - Kevin, show them.
- Sir, I-
- Let me see them," I said more firmly.
- Okay," Kevin exhaled and unzipped his chest, revealing to the surprised therapist the gills he used to breathe underwater.
- That's where his real psychological problems come from," I sighed, getting up from my chair and walking behind Kevin. - He's a great hero, as good as any, and even more effective than some. But his lack of confidence in his fullness hinders him a lot. Dealing with the fish as equals, even being sexually attracted to them, is his problem. Solve it before he's accused of bestiality, which is highly undesirable.
- Kevin, if you had said... - The man muttered in amazement.
- I'm sorry...
- Well, I'll leave you to it. Kevin, I really hope this helps you," I put my hand on his shoulder. - The first step to solving a problem is admitting that you have one. Don't be shy about admitting your problems, because I'm sure I'll listen to you.
- Thank you, sir.
- And yes, they're a lot cuter than you think. You shouldn't be embarrassed by them," I pointed to his gills with a smile. Their presence was the least of his fault.
- Thank you, Mr Homelander. Your cooperation will go a long way toward solving Kevin's problem," the therapist held out his hand.
- It's for his own good," I smiled as I shook his hand. - Payment will come soon. And now I must take my leave.
- Goodbye, Mr Homelander.
- You can just call me Homelander," I said, and left the room.
Then I sighed quietly before I went on my way. At least I had done the best I could with the situation, and then it was up to Kevin himself.
