But Cyan also knew that his life was now in the hands of this young man standing in front of him. A young man who was giving him a new lease on life.

He had been defeated completely and utterly. He let out a deep breath. He looked at Adam with a serious expression.

His old arrogance was gone replaced by a weary resignation. He said "I don't trust you at all but I have no other choice right now. So I'm willing to go along with what you say."

This is the situations that he need to undermine his ego and respectful to gain what he wanted and from the look of it he will get that from adam which is the target of the Ghost group.

Hearing this Adam who was sitting behind him suddenly stood up. He walked towards Cyan.

He said "Then you'll have to be quick." Cyan was a bit surprised. He looked up at Adam. He asked "Quick for what?" Adam who had already walked ahead turned around to look at Cyan.

His face was grim. He said "You need to get to Monica as soon as possible. Because if you don't get there in time she might die."

Hearing this rage filled Cyan's eyes. A protective instinct flared within him. He was about to attack Adam when Adam grabbed his hand. Adam's grip was like steel.

He said "I've just spared your life. Don't make me regret my decision." Cyan understood that he was not in a position to attack Adam. He was powerless here. He then started running very fast towards the stairs.

Adam was ahead of him also running. He reached the room first. He saw Monica still tied next to the bed. A little blood was still coming from her leg.

The makeshift bandage was soaked through. Adam had not removed the knife from her leg earlier. But he had bandaged it with a cloth.

He had done this because he did not want Monica to die in this way from blood loss. And it proved to be a very effective move.

This cloth had stopped the worst of the bleeding. Which was why Monica was still conscious and could be saved.

Adam then took out some bandages and other medical items from his inventory. He threw half of them towards Cyan. He said "Hurry up and get to work."

Cyan was filled with anger seeing Monica in this state. He felt a deep sense of guilt. But he couldn't say anything about it.

Because he and his group were planning to do the same thing to Adam. He now realized how Adam must be feeling.

He understood the rage and the fear. But saving Monica was more important than anything else. So he rushed to Monica.

He gently removed the knives from her wounds. Then he started bandaging her with practiced skill. Adam also helped them.

He started helping Monica cleaning the wounds while Cyan applied the bandages.

As soon as Monica's bandages were removed she was surprised. She had been drifting in and out of consciousness.

Because she saw Adam standing in front of her. And behind him Cyan who was like her older brother was helping her.

She didn't understand what was happening. Her mind was foggy with pain and confusion. But she could not ask her older brother Cyan what was going on. She just watched them in silence.

Adam then took a pill from his inventory without them noticing. He held the pill out to Monica. He said "Take this pill quickly. It will reduce your pain." Monica looked at Adam with surprised eyes.

She was hesitant. Adam looked at her angrily. He said "Just take it or I'll put it in your mouth myself with my own hands." Monica saw the look in his eyes and nodded her head. She took the pills from Adam's hand and swallowed them dry.

Now Monica was completely free. The ropes had been cut. Her wounds were bandaged. She looked at Cyan. She asked in a weak voice "Are you the only one left Leader?" Hearing this Cyan looked down at the ground.

He couldn't give Monica an answer. He couldn't bring himself to say the words. His only dream was to send Monica away from all these things. To give her a normal life. But whenever Cyan tried to do something like that Monica's life would be in danger. The world they lived in was not a kind one.

That's why he had always kept Monica with him. He had always kept her behind him. He never let Monica come forward so that she would never face a threat.

But Cyan didn't know that their easiest mission would be their most dangerous and their last one.

Adam looked at Cyan. He said "Where are the other members who are trustworthy and are waiting for me outside at the targets?" Hearing this Cyan looked at Adam.

He shook his head. He said "Yes we were all like a family. Those who you killed too." Hearing this Adam took a deep breath.

He angrily said to Cyan "It's not my fault. You guys were coming to kill me first. Now don't tell me it's all my fault. You started this. You deliberately dragged me into this. I had a good life. My parents were living alone but you guys..."

Cyan was looking at the ground and listening to Adam. He had no defense. Everything Adam said was true. Then Monica raised her voice a little. She was feeling much better now.

The pill was working. "It's not the Leader's fault. We didn't have a choice either. It's not like we enjoy doing this. If we don't do this we'll end up dead like your parents."

Hearing this Adam wanted to say a lot of things. He wanted to scream at them. But he didn't say anything. Because he needed these people.

He needed to reach the people responsible for all this and show them hell in this life. Adam took a deep breath.

He said "Come with me. My home is the safest place for you. And call back all the others. From today onwards you will live at my house." Adam could not let any of these people go.

And he knew what he would do to ensure that Cyan never betrayed him. An idea also came to his mind of how he could use this group to protect Sophia from future dangers.

For which Adam had so far failed every time.

Hearing Adam's words Cyan was even more surprised. He looked at Adam. He said "You'll keep us in your house?" Adam didn't listen to them.

He started to leave through the window. He took a communication device from his inventory. He threw it towards Cyan.

He said "Call them quickly I'm waiting outside." Saying this Adam jumped out of the window.

The communication device was in Cyan's hand. He looked at Monica. Monica said "This boy is not what he was described to be."

Cyan knelt down to Monica's height. He said "I'm sorry Monica. I've put you in trouble." Monica hugged Cyan.

She said "Leader you were the one who got us out of that hell. If we have to die for this now we are ready." Hearing this Cyan got emotional about all his companions who had died. But he could not blame anyone else.

It was his own fault. They were born in a place where this was their destiny.

Cyan then picked up the communication device. He moved away from Monica. He calmed himself down. He took a deep breath.

He said "All units come back to the base right now. I repeat abandon your positions and get to the base as soon as possible. Come back to the base as soon as you can." Hearing this all the remaining members of the Ghost group immediately abandoned their positions.

They started leaving. They could clearly hear the concern in their Leader Cyan's voice. They knew something was wrong.

But they didn't know what had happened at their base. So they all left their places and rushed towards the base.

As they arrived one by one in front of the base they saw something they never expected. Standing right in front of the base was their target Adam.

He was standing as if it were his own house. He was just waiting there patiently. Seeing this they were about to prepare their weapons.

They were ready to attack. When Cyan and Monica both emerged from behind. They came out of the house.

Cyan raised his hand a signal for them to stand down. They were confused and hesitant but they obeyed their leader. They lowered their weapons.

They watched as their leader and Monica walked over to stand beside their target. The boy who had destroyed their team.

They did not understand what was happening. They just knew that their world had been turned upside down. And this boy was at the center of it all.
