I Want to Die, But I Am Immortal

Chapter 133: Monica

Adam was a little surprised. A deep, unsettling surprise. Why had Sophia suddenly come to his house today? Of all days. He closed the heavy wooden gate from the inside, the sound of the latch echoing in the sudden quiet.

He turned and looked at Sophia, his eyes scanning her face, searching for something he couldn't name. "How did you know about my house?" he asked, his voice flat. "Where I live?"

Sophia looked down at her shoes, a faint blush creeping up her neck. She said shyly, "Actually, I came here with you last time." She was a little surprised herself.

She was surprised that Adam had forgotten something from just a few days ago so quickly. It seemed like such a significant memory to her.

Then Adam realized the truth. For her, it was a few days ago. But for him, countless loops had passed since that time. So many deaths, so many resets.

Because of this, Adam's memory of the "normal" timeline was getting weaker, more fragmented. It was like trying to remember a dream from a long time ago.

As he went inside, he said, "Do you want to have something?" Adam was talking about food. He realized he was starving. He had not eaten anything yet.

His clothes were still the same as before, the ones he had worn during the massacre at the hotel. He was not ready for school either. He was a complete mess.

Sophia was a little surprised by his appearance, by his question. She had told herself many times not to go to Adam's house. She knew he had his own life, his own secrets.

She knew she shouldn't intrude. But her heart did not listen at all. Her worry for him had overridden her hesitation. And today, she had come to Adam's house to take him to school with her.

Sophia desperately wanted to go to school with Adam today. She just wanted a normal day with him. But she could not tell Adam that. She couldn't tell him how much she worried, how much she just wanted to be near him. So Sophia had found a very good excuse for this.

She looked at Adam, her expression earnest. "Actually, I was very scared to go alone. So I came with you so that I can go to school with you." Sophia had lied. A small, white lie. She was not scared at all. Although Sophia's life had definitely changed in the past few weeks, she was not that scared as long as Adam was with her. When he was around, she felt safe.

Adam took a deep breath, the air filling his lungs. He processed her words. He didn't know if he believed her, but it didn't matter. She was here. She was safe. He said, "You sit down. I'll go freshen up and take a shower."

Hearing this, Sophia looked at Adam, her concern deepening. She said, "Haven't you had breakfast yet?"

Hearing this, Adam looked at the clock on the wall. He found that it was almost eight o'clock. And soon it would be eight. Seeing this, he understood that he was definitely late for school today. But now, Sophia would also be late with him. As Adam was leaving from there, turning to go upstairs, he said over his shoulder, "Actually, I slept in late today."

Then Sophia stood up from her place on the sofa, her face lighting up with a sudden burst of energy. She said with a rush of excitement, "I can make food for you while you take a shower!" Hearing this, Adam stopped on the stairs. He turned around and looked at Sophia, at her bright, eager face.

Then he looked at the clock again. This seemed like a good idea to him. It was efficient. And just for a little while, it would feel normal. He nodded his head slowly, giving Sophia permission to do this. A small, almost imperceptible smile touched his lips before he continued up the stairs.

Sophia happily went to the kitchen to make breakfast for Adam. However, she noticed a strange smell inside the kitchen, but she dismissed it.

She did her own housework and this was Adam's kitchen, so she didn't think much of it. Sophia, full of excitement, first cleaned Adam's entire kitchen. Then, happily, she made food for him. She didn't know when she would get a chance like this again.

When Adam came out after finishing his work and putting on his school clothes, he saw that Sophia had already set the food on the table. She smiled at Adam and said, "The food is ready." After eating with Sophia, Adam went to school.

However, now that Adam's senses were much higher, he could hear and see everything in great detail. So, he wasn't moving his mouth and eyes too much. Adam knew that The Ghost Group would not give up so easily, especially after he had killed one of their men.

Adam hadn't even gone back to see the man he had killed, the member of The Ghost Group. Adam was sure that the man would have been taken away from there by now. The Ghost Group would have taken him away, and Adam would have gained nothing from getting his hands on the dead body.

Adam and Sophia were on their way to school when they heard a shout from behind. A girl shouted, "So it was you!" Hearing this, Sophia and Adam turned around.

Sophia was very surprised to see a girl running towards them, and she looked angry.

Adam's expression was also one of complete surprise. It was the same girl Adam had found in Sophia's neighborhood, the one he had tied to her bed while searching for The Ghost Group.

Adam was very surprised to meet her like this, in the middle of the road. He looked at Sophia and thought, "No, Sophia shouldn't know anything about this."

But before Adam could do anything, the girl came running and stood right in front of them. She said, "How dare you enter my room in the morning?" Hearing this, Adam looked from the girl straight to Sophia.

He saw that there was no change in Sophia's eyes or on her face. Seeing this, Adam was a little surprised. He thought to himself, "I have to control this situation."

Then Adam looked at the girl and said in a very calm voice, "I told you there and I'm telling you now, I had to find someone who could have been in your house. I was mistaken." Hearing this, the girl said shyly, "You have no idea what you did. Do you know how much trouble I had to go through because of you? It took me a very long time to untie that knot." As she said this, she looked down at the ground, remembering that time and feeling even more shy.

She said, "If you had a crush on me, you could have come and told me directly. I wouldn't have said so much to you. But by doing this creepy thing, you have now lost any chance in the future."

Hearing this, Adam was very surprised. He was completely speechless. He just kept looking at the girl. Then he heard Sophia's voice from the side.

Sophia asked Adam, "Who is this girl, Adam?" Adam turned to Sophia to answer, but as soon as he saw Sophia's expression, for the first time in his life, he felt scared of her. Sophia's eyes, which usually had a hope in them even in times of great happiness and sadness, were completely black now. Her face had a very serious expression, as if she would really kill Adam if he said something wrong.

Adam smiled a little. He raised his hands and put them on Sophia's shoulders. He said, "It's not what you think." But his words didn't change Sophia's expression at all.

Then Adam shook Sophia and said, "Sophia, come to your senses." Then, suddenly, life came back into Sophia's eyes, and that blackness disappeared.

She looked at Adam and said, "Yes, what happened?" The other girl was also very surprised to hear Adam and Sophia talking like this. She looked at Adam and said, "Even though you have a girlfriend, you still enter other girls' rooms and do such things."

As soon as the girl opened her mouth, Adam immediately raised his hands very quickly. He covered Sophia's ears with both his hands. Sophia was very surprised when she heard the first few words.

She tried to look at the girl, but because of the strength of Adam's hands, she couldn't see her. Adam moved his face very close to Sophia's, which Sophia also saw.

She started to feel embarrassed, and her whole attention shifted from the girl to Adam. Then Adam came very close to her and said, "Listen to me carefully. I will tell you everything. Just come to school with me once."

Seeing Adam's action and how close he was, Sophia, who was looking at Adam, was very shy. She nodded her head. Adam removed his hands.

He looked at the girl and said, "If I had known you were such a foolish girl, I would have killed you right there." Hearing this, the girl was very surprised. She couldn't say anything. Adam took Sophia's hand. He started walking away from there quickly. The girl shouted, "My name is Monica, and I will never stop following you."
