I Want to Die, But I Am Immortal

Darkness enveloped Adam.

The system window appeared before him a familiar blue glow in the void. It informed him that he had died and was being sent to his most recent respawn point.

His eyes snapped open. He was in his own house. He glanced at the clock. It was morning the same morning he had gone to school and started this whole bloody affair.

He took a deep breath. He now had to face several challenges at once. First he had to deal with Philips. Then he had to handle Anderson and Lily. And his biggest target The Ghost group he had to kill them all.

"I need to analyze everything," he said to himself. "I can't just run blindly after everyone."

His biggest weakness was that he was alone. And all his enemies knew about his other weakness Sophia. This was a big problem. He knew that he was one man against an army.

He got out of bed. "First I have to deal with Lily and Anderson," he said.

He got ready and left his house. He took his phone from his inventory and opened The Byrd app.

He checked the activity in the underworld.

He noticed that all the information about him had been scrubbed. It was as if they knew he was using the app to gather information. He let out a long breath.

His only source of information was gone.

But he was not too discouraged. He had other ways of getting information.

He now knew who had killed his parents. And his enemies did not know that he knew about The Ghost group.

He reached the school. Sophia was waiting for him outside just like in the previous loop. He took her hand. She was surprised. She did not understand why he was holding her hand.

But she remembered what had happened in the factory. She remembered how he had killed almost everyone for her. She realized then that she had been a burden to him.

She was a liability a weakness that his enemies could exploit. She did not want to be a burden to him anymore. But she also did not want to leave him.

Adam led her into the school. But instead of going to the main building he went to the side ground. Sophia was confused and a little scared.

"Adam where are we going?" she asked. "Class is about to start."

He did not answer. He just kept walking.

He circled the school checking all the empty areas where he thought Anderson and Lily might be. He knew that Lily was always late for class.

He and Sophia reached the back of the school. There was a small empty area there with a storeroom where the school kept its junk. And then he saw them.

Anderson Lily and their friends were just going inside the school.

"Anderson!" Adam shouted.

Sophia heard the name and looked towards the back entrance of the school.

She saw Lily and Anderson and their friends. The memories of what they had done to her came flooding back.

Adam felt her hand tremble in his. He knew he had to deal with them now or they would never leave her alone. He let go of her hand and walked towards them.

Sophia's heart pounded with fear. She did not know what he was going to do.

Anderson Lily and their friends heard the shout and turned around. They saw Sophia and a cruel smile appeared on their faces.

"I heard you got a boyfriend," Anderson said clapping his hands together. "I thought it was a lie. But I guess it's true." He looked at Adam who was now walking towards them.

Lily also smiled a malicious smile.

As Adam got closer Anderson said "So you brought your boyfriend to get revenge on us?"

But before he could finish his sentence Adam leaped into the air. He pulled his fist back. Anderson's eyes widened in disbelief. Adam's fist slammed into his face sending him crashing to the ground.

Lily and her friends stared in shock. Lily was about to scream but Adam grabbed her by the throat.

"Sophia come here now!" he shouted.

Sophia was terrified. But she was also strangely drawn to his anger. She knew it was his way of showing how much he cared for her. She was fighting a war within herself.

"Sophia!" he shouted again.

This time she moved. She slowly walked towards him.

Anderson's friends rushed at Adam. But he kicked the first one in the chest sending him to the ground coughing. The second one hesitated.

Adam still holding Lily by the throat stepped forward and grabbed him by the collar. He slammed his head against the ground.

Sophia was standing right behind Adam now.

"Hold her," Adam said to Sophia.

She looked at him her eyes wide with fear.

"I said hold her," he repeated.

She stepped forward and took Lily's throat in her hands. Adam let go of Lily and took a roll of tape from his inventory. He bound Lily's hands behind her back. He then put a piece of tape over her mouth to keep her from screaming.

Anderson finally got to his feet. He saw Lily in Adam and Sophia's hands and his eyes filled with rage. "You're dead Sophia!" he screamed and ran towards her.

But Adam kicked him in the face sending him back to the ground. He had controlled his strength so as not to kill him.

Lily's two female friends were terrified. They turned to run.

"If you run the same thing that's happening to Lily will happen to you," Adam said.

They stopped in their tracks and turned back their faces pale with fear.

Anderson got to his feet again. "Let Lily go you bastard!" he screamed. "You don't know who my father is!"

Adam put another piece of tape over Lily's mouth. He then looked at Sophia who had her eyes closed her hands still on Lily's throat. He put his hand on hers.

She opened her eyes and looked at him. He nodded telling her to let go. Her hands were trembling as she released her grip. Lily fell to her knees gasping for air.
