Chapter 478: 478 Invincible: The Fall of Doc Seismic, Aurora Flame, Eve Needs a Cold Water Bath, and Helping Monster Girl.
Doc Seismic created a shock wave and rose into the air, then created another one against Allen. In response, he created a force shield to block the shock waves.
"TSK, DAMN BASTARD!"
Allen didn't pay attention and simply smiled with his eyes, then vanished. Doc Seismic could only see Allen's foot before it kicked him, slamming him into the ground.
"Ahh!"
"You talk too much, old man..."
Doc Seismic stood up, creating a shock wave that made everything tremble. His head was bleeding, but he had managed to get up after Allen's kick, which was impressive.
"He's a tough old man..." Allen murmured before appearing at his side and delivering a punch.
"Uurg! Damn it!"
The old man clashed his wristbands again, trying to create another shock wave, but Allen placed his hand between the wristbands, preventing it.
"You may be a genius for creating such amazing gadgets, but you're just a kid when it comes to combat."
Allen grabbed the man by the neck, lifted him, and headbutted him, forcing his eyes to close. Then, he punched his chest, breaking several ribs, kicked him in the stomach, knocking the breath out of him, grabbed his face, and slammed it into the ground.
"In battles, as the level increases, things get more complicated. Every second is important. You can't give your opponent a second to breathe. Don't let them recover, think, or act. Attacks aren't random; each one has the goal to harm or weaken your opponent. There's no time for speeches, especially when your weapons are wristbands that require conditions to use... Power doesn't make you strong, Doc Seismic... you say I'm arrogant, but what can I do if when I face someone like you, I see a hundred ways to defeat you in an instant because of how weak you are..."
Doc Seismic was terrified; his body hurt, and he couldn't move.
"Damn it!"
Doc Seismic created another shockwave so large it almost made his wristbands explode, but it managed to push Allen away.
Still, he couldn't understand who he was facing...
Allen gave a slight smile. "I guess I should acknowledge that you still dare to face me after seeing the difference between us... Right, I recognize you as my opponent..."
A small flame appeared on Allen's fingers...
The world fell silent...
"Huh!?" Doc Seismic froze. It was as if all light had been lost, and the only thing his eyes could capture was the fire in Allen's hand.
The flame was different from normal fire, not as if it would change color, it didn't turn green, white, or even blue. Instead, the scarlet color blended with orange and filled with an iridescent tone that danced in a hypnotic rhythm, covering Allen's fingers and extending to his hand.
"What... is... that?"
Allen didn't respond but calmly looked at his fire, moving his hand as if playing with the small flame. His movements seemed to draw, leaving a trail in the shape of a comet's tail. Unlike a regular flame, it didn't disappear, as if the combustion of the fire was eternal.
"..." Allen drew the flame until it pointed at Doc Seismic. Their gazes met. The man who thought he was a god had a stunned look, while the simple human had an unwavering gaze as if what he was doing was nothing out of the ordinary.
"I... what am I fighting against?" Whether by instinct or not, Doc Seismic clashed his wristbands to create a shield.
Allen smiled and released his fire like a torrent. The iridescent blaze hit the shockwave shield, creating a deafening sound. His wristbands protected him momentarily, but they began to spark from the strain of holding back the attack.
The beauty of the attack almost hid the danger of what it was capable of. The shock field was suppressed by the constant flames hitting it.
"No... this shouldn't be like this... who are you?!... WHAT ARE YOU?!"
The wristbands broke, and Doc Seismic was swallowed by the fire, which ignited the sky, causing an aurora borealis in broad daylight.
Gwen - It's beautiful...
MJ - WOW since when can you do that?
Felicia - It doesn't change the fact that it's kind of dangerous, but it's pretty amazing~.
Annie - It's so beautiful~
"It's an original piece..." Allen watched this peculiar effect, which he hadn't anticipated, "This was the result of several fire-type skills I refined, plus I added a unique magic formula, some Kido, my Ki, my cursed technique and my Chi, though it nearly failed as it was incompatible with the cursed energy, but I cheated and forced them to merge with The Absolute... I think I'll call it the Aurora Flame."
Of course, Allen did not use it to its full power because he was afraid of destroying the planet, he simply used it with enough intensity to defeat Doc Seismic.
...
...
"Again, we arrived too late." Eve shrugged, but Mark just looked at Allen in silence this time.
This phenomenon was captured by Invincible and Eve, who had just arrived. Originally, they were the ones who were supposed to stop Doc Seismic, but by the time they arrived, Doc Seismic had already destroyed and killed several civilians. Thanks to Cecil asking Allen if he could make it, they avoided the destruction of Mount Rushmore and the casualties.
"What will you do?" Eve asked Mark, knowing that he didn't like Allen. She, of course, planned to greet him.
Mark received a call from Amber and apologized. Eve shook her head. While Allen wasn't a superhero, his main job was controlling supervillains and criminals, so he could be seen as an ally. Plus, Mark could learn a lot from Allen, since regardless of his personality, Allen was incredibly strong.
"I guess that's impossible..." On the other hand, Eve was aware that Omni-Man didn't get along well with Allen, and Mark, as Omni-Man's son, was on his father's side.
Eve shook her head and stopped paying attention to her stubborn friend. She flew over to Allen, who was staring at the crack in the ground formed during the fight.
"Mr. Walker."
"Hello, I really don't want to take away your enemies, but you know the nature of my job."
Eve landed, putting her hands behind her back and smiling. "Don't worry~ Watching you fight is always a pleasure~"
"Oh, really?"
Allen blinked, making Eve laugh before pointing to the aurora in the sky.
"If I didn't know you, I'd say you did that on purpose." Eve went silent for a moment and looked at him sideways. "Maybe it's to impress a girl?"
Allen managed to read between the lines and sighed. "You shouldn't be interested in someone like me. Maybe it's better to chase after a guy your age."
Eve blushed at how direct Allen was. She recovered and looked him in the eyes with a serious smile.
"Don't I have a chance?"
"I wouldn't say that..." Allen approached her and lifted her chin. Eve's heart began to race, "Women compare me to an aphrodisiac because of what I provoke, they compare me to a drug because I'm so addictive, but also to poison because I'm deadly."
Allen let go of Eve, who gasped as she kneeled. "Haa..."
"Girl, before you fall for me, you better look in another direction. Maybe your soulmate is out there...who knows heh~" Allen smiled shamelessly and with mischief, "Of course, there is the possibility that I may become attached to you. If that happens, I'd have to kill your lover and steal you for myself... pray that doesn't happen because you'll lose your chance to escape..."
Eve blushed furiously from Allen's blunt comment. It wasn't hard to understand what kind of man Allen was. She knew getting involved with him wasn't for just any woman, especially knowing he had a girlfriend or several, as he had bluntly told Kate. It could've been a joke, but Eve could confirm after this brief interaction that it might be true.
If that were the case, she would be like a moth flying toward the flame; she would burn herself. Eve clenched her legs, feeling feverish, her stomach fluttering, her breath was rough, and her mouth was dry in a way that water couldn't satisfy. He had only flirted with her for a brief moment, and yet he left her in that state.
'Was I always like this?' Eve shook her head, feeling conflicted. As Allen had said, he was like poison and an aphrodisiac—irresistible, but he would kill you if you took him.
Eve stood up and flew away without daring to look at Allen, afraid of embarrassing herself again. She needed a cold water bath right now; no, she needed to dive into the Arctic Sea!
Allen watched Eve escape with a half-smile.
Esdeath – Tsk, since when did you become so considerate?
Makima – For a moment, it almost seemed like you were going to let her get away, but that's impossible for the Perverted King...
Rebecca – Very sweet, but when are you going to eat that girl?
Harley – Are you trying some sort of reverse psychology?
Albedo – Gaining your affection is the biggest achievement in existence, that girl should kneel and swear loyalty!
Wednesday – I thought you didn't care how others saw you, or that you didn't think you'd hold back your desires.
"I said something like that? I'm not lying. She's free to walk away from me right now before I develop any feelings for her..."
Artoria – Well, it doesn't seem like it will take much...
Bocchi – I w-wonder what she'll decide...
Nokotan – Nununu~ that's obvious, Bocchi-chan hehe~
2B – Master, statistically, there hasn't been a girl who started such a close relationship with you that you would let her escape...
...
(GDA "Supermax" Maximum Security Prison)
The remaining twin of the Mauler twins was locked up in this prison, which used advanced technology to create sealed cells with special alloy walls and force fields forming indestructible doors. This prison housed the most dangerous supervillains.
A blonde man in tactical gear pushed a cart with food for the inmates. When he reached Mauler's cell, he saw him reading to pass the time. Mauler had quickly gotten used to his life in prison and even got along well with the guards.
"Hey Pete, what do we have today?" said the big blue man, putting his book aside.
"Chicken pot pie..." The man smiled. "You know the rules, stay back while I pass it."
The guard grabbed the pie and used his hand to open a small compartment before placing the pie inside. This system opened the internal compartment once the external one closed, much like a decompression chamber in submarines or space shuttles.
However, something went wrong...
This time, the internal compartment opened while the external one was still open. The guard, confused for a moment, couldn't react when Mauler grabbed his arm, slammed him against the door until he was unconscious, and used his hand to open the cell.
"Sorry Pete," Mauler apologized, looking regretful as he loved chicken pot pie, but during his escape, it fell to the floor. "What a waste..."
Mauler ran down the hallways and encountered a bunch of guards with advanced weapons. One shot a missile, but Mauler ripped a piece of the wall off and used it as a shield before knocking one unconscious. The others fled, closing the doors behind them. Just as Mauler sensed the danger, a secret door opened in the ceiling, dropping down a ladder.
"Looks like I'm still lucky~"
Escaping from this prison without help was nearly impossible, but if anyone could, it was Robot. At the Guardian headquarters, he was watching a monitor, hacking into the systems, ensuring that Mauler would escape.
Mauler opened the final hatch to exit Supermax and saw the city in the distance. However, Cecil had one last trick. A turret rose from the ground, and judging by the weapon's muzzle, it was an energy-based one, but its vertically elongated shape left Mauler stunned.
"Multiphase fusion generation in the 30-megawatt range... I'm dead."
If he were alive, his twin/clon might have been used as a shield, but it seemed his luck had run out. However, the drone that had been watching fired a missile, destroying the turret. Robot needed Mauler, and he wasn't going to let him die.
"Looks like I have a benefactor..." Mauler smiled and ran. His first goal was to find a place to create a cloning lab and make another Mauler.
...
Robot turned off the computer.
"You seem busy..."
Robot froze and looked at Allen, standing in the doorway. He couldn't tell how long Allen had been there or if he had seen what he had done.
"Affirmative, but I always have time for you, Mr. Walker..."
"Tell me, Robot, how far would you be willing to go for your goals?"
"My goals? I just want to be a good leader for this group of superheroes. Mr. Walker, is there something you need from me?"
"No, Katherine asked me to come help her train, although I suspect it's a trap..." Allen shrugged and walked out.
"..." Robot stared at Allen's sword, unsure whether he should be scared. Allen was someone Robot couldn't predict.
...
On his way through the headquarters to Dupli-Kate's room, Allen was surprised at how quickly they were repairing the place he had destroyed yesterday.
"Ah..."
Monster Girl came out of a room and was surprised to find Allen there.
Allen joked, "Hey, you must be the girl named Amanda, it's nice to meet you without you being a giant green troll."
Amanda laughed and returned the joke, "Don't worry, it's good to see you without your bad habit of seducing young girls."
"Does that include you?" Allen smiled mockingly.
Amanda crossed her arms. "If you don't mind ending up in the papers, I'll gladly accept a date~"
Allen shook his head. This girl was tough. "Why should I? You're twenty-four, actually older than me."
Amanda fell silent, realizing Allen knew about her condition. She wanted to question him but remembered that Allen had enough authority to find out all her information.
"Yes, that's right. My life is miserable, condemned to look like this while I am already twenty-four years old..."
Allen extended his hand and petted Amanda's head.
"It's rare for me to offer my help personally, but I might be able to help you."
Amanda grabbed Allen's hand and glared at him. "Don't do it... don't lie to me. Many have said that, and no one succeeded."
Allen took Amanda's hand. "But none of them were me. It was obvious they would fail."
Amanda's eyes widened when she saw the absolute certainty in Allen's words. It wasn't bragging; he didn't need to do that, it was an inevitable certainty.
Amanda watched as Allen held her hand, then looked away. "Let me get my body back, and I'll do whatever you want."
Allen frowned in a pretend imaginative way. "Tsk, you're underestimating me. I don't need blackmail to get a girl."
Amanda laughed. She didn't expect Allen to be so approachable and nice. Well, she had seen him act like a terrifying villain while kicking their asses. She watched Allen closely; maybe for someone so incredible, his curse was just a joke. If that was the case, perhaps she could recover the body she should have at her age.
'If that's the case, the first thing I'll do is devour this sexy guy~'
Amanda wasn't shy in any aspect, like Kate. If she saw something she wanted, she would attack it like a lioness.
The Dolls mocked Amanda as they had Kate, arrogantly believing that Allen was prey, but on the contrary, they would regret it if they tried to hunt him.
===
A/N: Let's hope Amanda gets her wish to get her adult body, it's only natural to help such a pitiful girl. 🍷🗿
