Chapter 105: Undead
"Riley, what's happening?" Rodney asked, but the call was cut off the next moment.
Riley had ended the call and together with Harianto, Dr. Uwe and Margaret, they were peering out from the armored van's windshield.
The earth trembled as mounds elevated from the ground in the surroundings.
Plop.
Something broke through from the dirt and snow of the mounds.
A hand of a Wind Ape appeared.
But it was not the same as the Wind Apes they'd encountered earlier.
The white fur was smudged with dirt and dried blood all over, flesh exposed from the wounds was rotten, with maggots crawling within.
When the Wind Ape got out from the mound, its head and body were the same, rotten and giving off an unbearable stench.
Besides the Wind Ape, there were other rotten and half-decomposed demonic beasts that appeared from the mounds.
Fire Deer, Ice Wolves and Water Striders.
There were around fifty of these undead demonic beasts.
"Protect Dr. Uwe," Lukas said and glanced over at Rex and Emma.
They nodded and leaped over to the side of the armored van while Lukas stood at the front of the armored van.
Riley and Harianto also came out of the armored van to get ready to help.
Harianto placed his hands on the side of the armored van, and with his ability, parts of the armored van moved and got onto his arms.
Growl.
The undead demonic beasts growled and started to advance towards the armored van.
Lukas focused ahead, getting ready for battle as he accumulated lightning strikes on his hands.
Clap.
The Wind Ape clapped its hands and sent out a burst of wind blades at Lukas.
Lukas leaped to the side and at the same time unleashed lightning strikes at the Wind Ape.
Splatter.
The lightning strikes hit, and parts of the chest and left shoulder of the Wind Ape were blown off.
However, the Wind Ape continued to move as if it were nothing.
Lukas frowned when he saw what happened.
These undead demonic beasts didn't feel pain.
Whoosh.
The wind blades from the Wind Ape passed by Lukas.
Lukas wanted to make his next move, but fireballs shot at him from the Fire Deer that were charging towards him.
He placed his hand onto the ground and an ice wall rose from it.
Thud.
The fireballs, which were glowing with a green glow, hit onto the ice wall, giving out a loud thud.
It wasn't over yet as the fireballs started to slowly burn through the ice wall.
Lukas then saw the Wind Ape open its mouth, trying to unleash a twirling wind strike at the armored van.
He quickly raised his hands and unleashed lightning strikes at the Wind Ape's mouth.
Wham.
The lightning strikes hit and blew the head of the Wind Ape off.
But the body of the Wind Ape didn't stop, and it continued to move.
The headless body of the Wind Ape turned in Lukas's direction and lunged at him.
Lukas conjured up ice spikes and shot the ice spikes at the headless body of the Wind Ape.
Thud.
The ice spikes ripped through the headless body of the Wind Ape, and the pieces of the body fell onto the ground.
Finally, it remained still and motionless.
Lukas quickly turned his focus back onto the Fire Deer charging at him.
There were five of them and they rammed their antlers into the ice wall.
The ice wall, having parts of it burned by the green glowing fireballs, was broken into pieces by the Fire Deer.
But Lukas had leaped into the air, and he unleashed his lightning strikes at the Fire Deer.
Wham.
The lightning strikes took out two of the Fire Deer, splitting their bodies into halves.
They kicked around but couldn't move as they couldn't stand on only two legs.
The remaining three Fire Deer stopped in their tracks, turned around and tried to shoot fireballs at Lukas.
They weren't fast enough.
Lukas had conjured up ice spikes and shot them at them.
Whoosh.
The ice spikes came down at them from above and plunged through their backs, nailing them down onto the ground.
He lunged at two of them next and with his fists, punched at their heads.
His fists hit, plunging through the skin, flesh and bones of the Fire Deer.
For the last Fire Deer, he held onto the head of the Fire Deer and yanked it out from the neck.
Without their heads, the Fire Deer kept moving and thrashed around with their legs.
Lukas unleashed lightning strikes at the bodies of the Fire Deer next, ripping the bodies apart.
When he was done, a familiar sound erupted in his mind.
[Ding!]

The familiar surge of energy came into his body.
Lukas was pleasantly surprised when he saw the Slaughter Points he had gained.
These undead demonic beasts had given him much more Slaughter Points.
And he wasted no time.
Lukas lunged at one of the ice wolves that were encircling him.
Icicles with a green glow appeared before the ice wolf and the icicles shot at him.
The icicles missed as Lukas had used his shadow wielder ability and yanked the ice wolf toward him.
He landed in front of the ice wolf and held his hand up in front of the ice wolf's head.
A bright flash appeared, and the ice wolf's head was then blown into smithereens by Lukas's lightning strikes.
The other ice wolves howled and lunged at him from all directions.
Lukas leaped away and they crashed into each other.
All of them tried to get up at the same time, but this disrupted the others.
In the end, they were entangled together and couldn't get up.
Wham.
Wham.
Wham.
One after another, Lukas expended all of his energy and unleashed lightning strikes at the ice wolves.
Soon, there was only a pile of substance, made of flesh and blood from the ice wolves, snow and soil from the ground.
He had cleared most of the demonic beasts that were coming for him.
[Ding!]

Lukas had no time to look at the information panel; things weren't going so well for his teammates.
"Argh! Let me go!" Emma cried out in pain.
